My all time favourite trad song, I remember forcing myself to learn this song and giving a mighty blast of it in the pub the Friday of the week I got it spot on after I got asked to sing one before closing
Dear Seth. I just wanted you to know that I’ve been using your music in a D&D campaign I am running for my friends. It has elevated their experience I am forever grateful for. Keep making great music Bard.
Just a question, but at which moments do you feel it's right to play a song with words in it? I always thought if there was music with words it would detract from the actual game as at that point we're just listening to music, but if there are ways to incorporate it I would love to hear about em
@@theapproachingstorm2133 you could use it to set the scene of a tavern or inn, you could say there’s a bard playing in an open market, and then make the bard a possible quest giver so they can listen to the music as an ambience or also turn the song into a story that plays into the campaign. Tons of possibilities.
Finally I'm early to another masterpiece! I'm absolutely in love with your music! If it's not too much for you, could you give Teir Abheile Riu a spin next?
Wonderful. I saw you posted this and put off listening until I could listen to it properly seated with a glass to raise. Wouldn't be to worried about the pronunciation. I've never heard this sung the same way twice.
Yesssss!! I would sing this when I would walk half a mile from the bus stop to my car. It's a great song and has a place in my heart and just sounds amazing, even if I can't actually pronounce the words lol
I saw that you posted this and immediately dropped everything to grab my headphones. This is one of my favorite traditional/folk songs and you absolutely did it justice. Thank you for posting this you are an incredible talented human being
This is a song that speaks to the souls of all people with Irish blood flowing in their veins. The Tuatha Dé Danann, our ancients. Gave us the unknown ballad that speaks to us individually to remind us of our forgotten truth.
omg Seth you finally did it~!!!!! I am so proud and this song makes me emotional too! its due to the lyrics and its close to me since my dad taught me it
What a fantastic job , sounds brilliant for someone who is not Irish and never learnt the language , really blown away by this , There are 2 versions and this is the Padraig Pearse version and the other is the Jacobite version , perfect . Thank you
Ba bhreá liom é. Sé an t-amhrán is fearr leam as Gaeilge. Tá an fhuaim seo aige is chomh go h-álainn agus go uaigneach, agus is an leagan seo chomh go maith.
@@persianprince6213 my Great Grandfather fought in the RUR in North Africa and with 2 PARA in France and the low countries before being wounded in Germany and sent to Felixstowe to recover. He and others he went on Pickett duties with would sing 5 songs almost constantly "Over the Hills and Far Away", "Star of the County Down, "Long Way to Tipperary", "Pack up your troubles" and later in France he would love to sing "Dixie" or what lyrics he could remember that he learned from an American Red Ball Driver. He was a believer in a unified Ireland but knew that the Germans were a threat to all of Europe and his older Brother died in Spain at Valencia in 1937 or 38 I can't remember. When he died he was buried here in the states with a Union jack in his casket and we hired a piper to play Farewell to the Creeks, Dawning of the Day and I vow to thee my country just as he wrote in his will. Just because it is British doesn't mean it isn't good or means something to some one ( even if that someone is Irish ).
@@spencermurphy5796 Wow amazing heritage bro! May they be at peace! Oh btw Seth just dropped Men behind the wire today! But on your point, it's not that over the hills and far away isnt a good jig or a song that makes you wanna go kick some ass, it's the fact that it is entirely about going to war for the English monarchy, seen in the words "For our queen good and kind" it's really just monarchist propaganda and while it is a cool song it has no place being heard by rebel ears or much less bejng sung by a rebel leader (seth)!
This is gorgeous, Seth! Stay handsome, good sir!
Thank you my friend! Right back at ya!
😂👍

@Paige Forrai oh definitely with one's melodic voice and the others baratone I could see them doing my mother told me or another song
