Wow, Seth Watkins' rendition of 'Down by the Glenside' is absolutely captivating. His soulful delivery not only does justice to the stirring melody but also honors the profound historical context of the song. His vocal performance, coupled with the haunting melody, truly transports the listener back to a pivotal moment in Irish history. Seth's interpretation evokes a deep sense of nostalgia and reverence for the bold Fenian men, showcasing both his musical talent and his respect for the rich tradition of Irish rebel songs. It's a powerful rendition that resonates long after the song ends
Twas down by the glenside, i met an old woman, Out plucking young nettles, she ner saw me comin, I listened awhile, to the song she was humming, Glory O' Glory O' to the bold Fenian men, It`s 50 long years since I saw the moon beamin' On strong manly force, their eyes with hope gleamin' I see them again through all my sad dreamin' Glory O' Glory O' to the bold fenian men, When i was a young lad, their marching and drilling, Awoke in the hillside, sounds awesome and thrillin, They loved poor old Ireland, and to die they were willing, Glory O' Glory O' to the bold fenian men Some died by the glenside, some died with a stranger, And wise men have told us, their cause was a failure, They stood by old Ireland, and never feared danger, Glory O' Glory O' to the bold Fenian men, I passed on my way god, be praised that i met her, Be life long or short, i shall never forget her, We may have great men, but we'll never have better, Glory O' Glory O' to the bold fenian men.

These days, it's increasingly rare to find artists who haven't been corrupted by the system and don't just kiss up to it. However, I recently stumbled upon Seth Staton Watkins, and I'm not only captivated by his incredible vocal abilities and sound, but also by his humanity and activism for what's right. Such integrity is rare in today's world, where many artists seem to sell their souls to blend in with the corrupted system controlled by powerful lobbyists. I have two loves: Palestine and Ireland.
Seth, this performance by you and your dad Wyatt (I presume) is stunning and phenomenal. The composition is the best of any Irish song I have ever heard. This piece is a musical triumph. I have listened to this rendition dozens of time over the past few days and I want to share it with everyone I can. The pace of the song (slightly turned up) with the Celtic drums, the spectacular string arrangement and performance combined with your vocals, such a natural Celtic sound combine to create a masterpiece. Paul McCartney was greatly inspired by his father who was also a musician and it is good to know that the apple came from strong musical roots. It is a gift from God and I thank both of you for sharing it.
I received no education anywhere except in the university of my own mind. No musical instruction except in the forge of my own gullet. and no quarter, especially in the teeth of the mighty Atlantic

Twas down by the glenside, i met an old woman,
Out plucking young nettles, she ner saw me comin,
I listened awhile, to the song she was humming,
Glory O' Glory O' to the bold Fenian men,
It`s 50 long years since I saw the moon beamin'
On strong manly force, their eyes with hope gleamin'
I see them again through all my sad dreamin'
Glory O' Glory O' to the bold fenian men,
When i was a young lad, their marching and drilling,
Awoke in the hillside, sounds awesome and thrillin,
They loved poor old Ireland, and to die they were willing,
Glory O' Glory O' to the bold fenian men
Some died by the glenside, some died with a stranger,
And wise men have told us, their cause was a failure,
They stood by old Ireland, and never feared danger,
Glory O' Glory O' to the bold Fenian men,
I passed on my way god, be praised that i met her,
Be life long or short, i shall never forget her,
We may have great men, but we'll never have better,
Glory O' Glory O' to the bold fenian men.

When I was in primary I took violin lessons
I stopped taking them because all I was hearing from violin was stuff I simply was not interested in
I was learning to play things not because I enjoyed the music but just for the sake of learning them
I just didn’t enjoy it even remotely
I didnt care for music I was learning and so I just never put much effort into learning it
