Dave you have the right Attitude as Positives outweigh the negatives here in the Philippines so I would rather live here then back in Indiana, USA with it's cold winters and crime you are always on the lookout for. The Biggest is How Happy and positive 90% of the people are here and how they are so helpful and friendly and Most of all the strength of the Family. Best advice for newbie's is be Open-minded with willingness to Adjust, Adapt to situations out of your control, Accept things that you can't change and have allot of Patience as things move at a slower pace here. And take care of those you encounter, and be friendly as the Most important thing is to not let anyone or anything disturb your Peace...

Having lived in the Philippines for over one year, I definitely agree with all your comments. Being British and lived in Dubai, Istanbul and now the Philippines, by far the Philippines is better for so many reasons. My wife and I built our new home in Isabela province on the 1000 sq m lot we had. At the same time, we bought a 2 hectare farm to grow rice. Cheers, Simon

I've lived in many countries and saw how life differs from one country to another. I've met Americans complaining about how much they hated being in Europe and how Europeans do things. I heard the same complains from Americans in Thailand, Iceland, Korea, even in Australia and New Zealand. These complainers complain anywhere, even in their own town in America. Hard life can be found anywhere. If you visit Downtown Los Angeles or San Francisco, you would think you are in a Third World country. Then again, some keyboard tourists formulate their opinions by watching TH-cam channels and have never left their town since birth.
I’ve met people from all over the world, and most have something to complain about. I’m having a hard time singling out one nationality . I think it’s fair to say most individuals complain about something. Thanks for your comment Take care
People have to realise, the Philippines is a country on the up. Countries like Thailand and Vietnam who are considered to have better infrastructure were once where the Philippines is now, and that's not so long ago. I was in Indonesia in 2019 and 2020 and in fairness I can honestly say the philippines is miles ahead in ways I don't want to mention regarding animal welfare. Adaptation is the key as you say. If there's a problem in the 🇵🇭 it can be sorted for far less than here in Ireland. The trade off in my eyes is worth it in the end. It took me four days to adapt to the temperature and humidty there. I left Dublin in March wearing shorts and a short sleeved shirt at 2am it was 2c arrived in Cebu it was 32c 🤣 Another great informative video Dave
Great video, and Happy Thanksgiving from the U.S. The generator and cost of operation was great to hear, as that seems like an easy solution to a situation that's often bitched about. Why would people bitch if that's all it takes to solve it? Makes no sense. I haven't yet been to the Philippines, but look forward to traveling both there and to Thailand in the next few years as I get closer to retirement and look for a new place to call home. Thank you for all that you share.
Appreciate it, I was a little lost when I moved permanently. Vacationing is nothing like living here. Great place with a lot of little quarks and adjustments. Hopefully I can bring real life and real issues that I have dealt with. Appreciate your comment Take care
I would also like to respond from the U.S. The drivers near the industrial complexes where I work are ridiculous. Conditions of the roads mostly suck. The weather is stupid hot here in the summer, cold in the winter. Don't forget Tornados. I have loaned money here (my mistake), and the woman got amnesia. I'm safe in my home, in a rural area. Not so much in the more inhabited areas nearby. In a medical emergency, it will take up to an hour to arrive at a life-saving, quality facility. Of course, we have 1st responders, and I could buy an emergency medical flight plan. For my age, the dating opportunities are slim to none and slim left town. No animal problems here to speak of. Just watch for the dear and the unattended dogs running free. Did I miss something? That is my 2 cents worth. Thanks for the video.
I guess comparing isn’t really worth it. I just hope people open their eyes and realize they can live anywhere if they can adjust. Enjoy life and get out of the rat race is what I’ve always said. Thanks for your view/opinion. Take care

Hello been watching your videos. Great content. I have some ideas, 1. You should not call your channel Mau and Dave she is rarely on your videos, 2 Do not put her in the thumbnails unless she is in the vidoes. Reason are because people who click on your videos looking for a couple channel will think this is a couple channel but your wife is rarely there so people will not watch or unsubscribe. Plus when you start showing a woman on your channel and you dont anymore your views may drop because people want to hear their filipina point of view. Overall great points i still watch your videos but i think your channel name will limit your reach.
Appreciate your suggestion: 1. Our channel our name. 2. I think my wife being in every thumbnail might be a good idea. What I’m saying is it’s our channel and if it grows it grows.
