TIRED OF U.S. COSTS. 🇵🇭PHILIPPINES I CAN AFFORD LIFE.

- The cost of living in the Philippines is extraordinarily low compared the U.S. The tax savings alone is worth the move. The wasted money in the states is beyond understanding.
I still need to file a tax return every year; TH-cam and investments is an income that they still get a % for doing nothing from my hard work. I take the risk and the government gets rewarded.

Moving there next year, and can't wait for the adventure, less stress, and SAVINGS!
Yep, it is cheaper to live here. Less taxes, cheaper labor costs, but there are some things we do miss. Traffic is bad, things tke longer to get, etc, but yeah we are in no hurry., so sit back, enjoy the cool breezes, smell the tropical plants, and have another Red Horse.

What really burns my a$$ now in the US is the "Credit Card Transaction Fee" that is tacked on at the end of the bill for using a credit card. My electric bill, water bill, real estate taxes and now my home owners insurance all have it, anywhere from $2.50 to $5.00 per transaction. Not a lot of money when you first look at it but it all adds up. When I had my business, credit card transaction fees were a part of doing business and I ate it.
That was a good video watched it till the end. Hope it’s a moneymaker. Watching from Negros oriental
I think the most I have made from a video is around $60 for 7500 views. It definitely depends on topic.

Everyone doing the rv life should join the escapees club to avoid high taxes. Even if going overseas.
You should live in Canada where they tax the tax
This is an awesome video. You did a very good job of explaining the difference between what it cost to survive in the U S, and the cost of living in the Philippines.

Good info. We live in Goodyear. A lot has changed since 2020. You wouldn't believe it especially traffic. Even with 3 lanes it's bumper to bumper all the way past Buckeye now. Vehicle taxes are outrageous in Arizona. Keep up the good work.
It was definitely congested during rush hr. Lived the weather and Mountain View’s. Beautiful place but the overcrowding is 2 much for me.

This is very useful info for me.I'm frugal and willing to make ends meet on a cheaper budget to live in the PH. Stay well my friend.
Absolutely telling the truth… As I get older I can see the writing on the wall… The land of promise has become the land of financial ruin… to be a senior in the USA is tragic… Thank you for your honesty and insight…

Hopefully things will turn for the better.

Take the money and run. Nothing in the US compensates for the cheaper cost of living in the Philippines especially if you're struggling or "just getting by" financially. The US has become a work and pay taxes til you die society for many.

You should set your business address on a tax free state like Delaware. It's where I have mines set up as an LLC. Zero state tax but Feds is another story. LOL
I was just thinking of doing that-
I-postal is the mail service I use and can set whatever state I want.

I got my property tax bill and insurance bill a few days ago. If I didn’t have a mortgage, which I do because she got the house, I still pay $663US per month. Ridiculous. Went to the grocery store yesterday and spent $179 and took it out in 2 bags. In addition to the dwindling value of the products purchased I paid 8.9% sales tax. I could keep going.
@@papadougpapadougsadventures
Exactly-brutal costs. How all have been conditioned to except costs over our lifetime.
And my outgoing costs here last month was $1250 total. I’m so happy I moved to the Philippines.
Issues are here but nothing compares to the stress of the states.

Do yourself a favor! Look into cab&chassis or Mahindra Enforcer. Less than 1 million peso!
One main reason why insurance is so affordable in Pinas, is killing someone, if you’re at fault, is at worst 500,000 peso!
In the states, that same accident would cost a million dollars, and, if you’re not carrying an umbrella policy, you’re in danger of losing your house!
I maintain my U.S. residence in Washington. No state income tax!
If I plan to spend more than a few hundred dollars, I drive to Portland and avoid sales tax! I would never consider having my home base in California, Arizona, or Idaho, because of double/triple taxation…
So how can you as an expat westerner own property in the Philippines? I always hear that foreigners can’t own property there?
@@Oldtimer_Shrek
Correct, I cannot own land.
But I can purchase land in my wife’s name and then she has a 30 year lease to me with me having power of attorney on the property and the house has both are names on it. It’s a way to protect your assets.
Thanks for the question.

@ that’s what I thought so the only way to really own land is to marry a Filipino woman and have it in her name, what about buying a condominium? Can foreigners own a condo outright?

Yeah, my Toyota Camry in Michigan the insurance never goes down even though it’s about eight years old we’re in the Philippines when your vehicle gets older. The insurance goes down. I think Michigan is number two either number two or three most expensive in the USA by the way for car insurance. And you’re worried about property taxes mine have almost doubled. Yeah the value has gone up on the house but still it’s crazy. I’m moving to the Philippines in a few months when I retire. I’ve been there a few times already. I have a fiancée there in Dumaguete….😊

Since 2013, our total U.S. tax liability is Zero. Our property taxes in the Philippines are about $50 per year.
@@tropicshade
TH-cam, is an income that I still pay taxes in the U.S. every year.
Bummer-lol

Not every state has the exorbitant taxes of an Arizona or California. Most states are pretty decent. If we're being honest, the services provided by those taxes are light years ahead of the Philippines overall.
In terms of income tax, the TRAIN Law sets the top tax bracket at 35%. That's for anyone earning over P8,000,000 or $137,000 annually. Conversely, the US income tax for the exact same level is 24%, much less than the TRAIN Law here.
Also the VAT in the Philippines exceeds any sales tax in any American state.
There is no "relief" from tax in the Philippines that can be attributed to anything other than the fact you're not employed here by a Filipino company and subject to the same tax as everyone else.
You paid 12% VAT on that scooter, it's just rolled into the sticker.
@@BusinessChatWithRob
Correct-I’m not paying taxes in the Philippines. And I wouldn’t know about the tax situation in the Philippines. Even though I’m in the Philippines I still pay taxes in the U.S. on capital gains and TH-cam. You can never escape taxation.
Thanks for your input,
I appreciate it.
Have a blessed year.

I was just reading up on VAT, and yes I see it’s built into the costs unlike the U.S. thanks for the info.

@@maudave every YT creator gets to pay taxes in the US. But, the Filipinos can be taxed at a lower rate in the US if they get the proper documentation from BIR.
Taxes are a fact of life everywhere you go.
Absolutely, wish retirement at 67 would end the obligation for paying into the system. I think most have paid their dues to the country.
5 more years be retired in Cebu cant wait
There are hidden costs in the Philippines too! If you can live with the chaos, police corruption, air pollution and lack of basic infrastructure the Philippines can save you big money. Plus car insurance in the Philippines is basically worthless. If you have to make a claim it will be denied 99% of the time and even if approved you don’t get the cost to tepair your vehicle. Instead they pay based on sone bogus claim table of depreciated cost of raw materials. You may get a few pesos but it is basically s joke. I agree Costs in the US are out if control but s least you usually have legal recourse. In the Philippines you are screwed
Legal recourse is one thing that's keeping us from moving to PI on a full time basis. When most Filipinos get scammed or ripped off they just write it off as another day in PI. I wasn't raised that way.
I just bought my Girlfriend a scooter. A little Honda Beat. Zero tax. So refreshing.
@@keith4826
It’s actually hidden in the cost, 12%. But the same scooter in the states for a Honda click 125 was $4199 and $300 for delivery. I could buy 3 scooters here for the price of 1 in the states.
It’s a shame we get hammered in the states on prices.

Defending tax theft is shear insanity--just stop it! Justify 20 billion to advance fertilizer use in Pakistan/Vietnam/Colombia/Brazil. Why is that the concern of hard-working Americans? And 10m for empty federal office space. We're severely over taxed and some dimwits are okay with it.

I disagree disagree disagree.
You actually pay more property tax rate than you do in the state of texas.
Here is the example.
I paid the taxes owned for 2024 for my wife's mother house. (Land of The House)
Invoice from the Treasurer's Office of Suigaio Del Norte
Appraised Value = P150,600
Taxed Owed = P4,435
P4,435/P150,600=2.94%
My house in Texas
Appraised Value =$400,000
Taxes Owned = $3,548
$3,548/$400,000=0.887%
Conclusion: Philippines has a higher property rate tax than my house in Texas.
Did she have back taxes owed?
I would rather pay $80 than $3000 plus.
Remember I live here full time and I’m stating that taxes on property in the Philippines is way cheaper due to the costs of the homes. And when you’re on a budget you can afford to live full time here.
Your assessment is probably correct.
It’s about costs here, not in the U.S.
thanks
Take care
@maudave no back taxes and you are missing the point.
Look at the appraisal value to taxed owed. The peos ratio value is high. No not look at the dollar value For every peos of Appraised Value, they are paying over 2% in taxes, compared to less than 1% in Texas.
So the conclusion is the property taxes in the philippines is taxed at over 2% of value.
That is HIGH.
@@kevinacker9843
Ok, compact overall U.S. property taxes.
You’ll see my point, coming from California. I pay way less for sure. Texas has no state payroll tax. I’ve worked in Texas and I actually do understand.
I see your point of Texas-I’m not comparing your state.
