Hey Alexandra, I’ve been a viewer of your channel for a while and it was really disappointing to see you endorse a company founded by a white man that literally APPROPRIATES Masala Chai, a STAPLE of South Asian culture, and calls it…mud water. I wish you had done your research into this brand and, considering that you live in Toronto, one of the most diverse cities in the world, would have chosen to support a local, actually South Asian masala chai brand. Arvinda’s Chai Masala is a great option!
@@zeahaarehman given it is a pretty stupid and unappetizing name imo. But can you really call it "appropriation" just because one of the ingredients is tea? Are all tea products then considered appropriation, what about coffee, or spices then? I looked at the website and it looks like what makes the product unique and "muddy" is all of the mushrooms added to it not the tea itself, the tea is just the chosen vessel or base instead of a traditional coffee. If it was "mud" coffee, or "mud" green tea would that be any different or better? Can people only drink or eat things grown in the same region of the world as their ethnic origins without being called racist? Is that what the world is coming to?
@@Nikijo22 If you have read the website, I don’t know how you missed that the white guy literally went to India, liked Masala Chai (which is not ONE ingredient; it is the entire drink being sold. If you took the masala chai out, you would have no basis for the caffeine) and decided to take and “enhance” it to sell it to a Western audience without any acknowledgement or interaction with the South Asian community in the West. That, to me, an actual South Asian person, is the literal definition of appropriation. Masala chai is not an ingredient it is AN ENTIRE DISH created and innovated in the region of South Asia; drinking and consuming things from a place is different than profiting off of them at the expense of its population and diaspora. Idk why you’re being so defensive over something that doesn’t concern you but go off, I guess.
I love the concept of the wallpaper/an accent wall but that wallpaper felt too busy for me. Regardless, a lovely makeover and definitely some organization inspiration
I’m Italian and people make and sell pizza as they deem fit in any corner of the planet (even with such abominations to our Italian eyes as putting pineapple on it) and no one can it appropriation. Chill! It’s just food. And yes, chai is amazing as is but this is a different product.

Positives: love the shelves - they’re so much more open! If they were slightly closer together, you could have had one more level, to hold so much more. Love the baskets on the floor. The clips to hold the vacuum/broom are pretty neat…my experience with anything hung with double sided tape is not good, so hope it continues to hold. All spices in a movable tray is a great idea. Love the pasta/dry goods in see-through jars. Love that the area to the left side is household stuff segregated from kitchen stuff. Negatives: Though I like the idea of the spice tray…if I have thirty jars in there, I want to be able to see what they are at a glance, so the labels need to be facing up. Dry goods will keep well in the jars, but “overflow” items are not protected - they can go stale, get bugs, etc. I’d rather have two jars of the same thing than a rolled up bag in an overflow bin that may be forgotten. The number one thing I would absolutely change is the rack and ironing board on the back of the door. She will be opening that door many times a day, and will quickly tire of the swinging ironing board. A couple hooks around the corner to the left inside the pantry would keep them out of the way but still easily accessible. They could even be hung one above the other so they won’t stick out as far.
It looks incredible. I love how it’s turned out, A note for anyone wanting to use the track shelving- there’s different sets for different wight capacities, make sure you’re getting a system that can hold up everything you want it to and more. This is a mistake I made, and hopefully you won’t.

I have a panel in my bedroom that’s only been opened once in over 1.5 yrs that I’ve lived here, and that was just to check there weren’t any leaks (my downstairs neighbour was having water come into her flat and I guess it’s a conduit for pipes up and down the building or something… was a false alarm anyway!)… it’s in an annoying position though, and when I get around to installing a built-in wardrobe I’ll have to work around that 😒 You can see this pantry panel still has room to open a little bit, maybe enough to reach a hand in and… do whatever might be needed in there, flip a switch or something?! 😂 It would be annoying to have to take everything off the shelf, but they are at least moveable shelves so if it came down to it I think it’s no big deal 🙂
20:19: actually I take it back! That’s what I get for pausing to write a comment before finishing the whole thing 😂 From this angle the panel looks way skinnier and like there’s plenty of room to open it all the way up! From the front it looked like it was this big old square thing, but now it looks about 3 times longer than it is wide. I think we’re good! 😁

What a great make over. In my little cottage in rural Victoria, Australia I didn't have a pantry...so I turned my walk through laundry room into a multi tasking room. My fridge and washing machine are hidden behind the laundry entry door. The small chest freezer is under a counter and I have a double tall white cupboard, white 12 cubed shelves and another white tall cupboard. These are my pantry and broom cupboard. The doors on the front of the cupboards hide my food etc and being white means it blends in with the white walls making the room look bigger rather than cramped. The cubes have alternating pattern and plain grey boxes, which house my tinned goods. This means that as you walk through its not an obvious butlers pantry.

I moved into my grandma's old flat and I am slowly but surely making the space mine while keeping some of the vintage pieces that give me all the 'nostalgia' - I was thinking on tackling the pantry next, so this makeover is just in time. I mean, I should be doing the whole kitchen, but my budget is pretty tight and I think I should maybe just wait a little longer and do it properly (it hasn't change at all since 1975, so...)
Love the ideas you created Alexandra. So much fun to see you and your team at work again.
I really liked this episode style with you sharing more behind the scenes with you, Xico, and the crew. It gave some fun new dynamics! 😄👏 I already love watching your TH-cam channel, so it only added to the episode having those extra more human moments! ☺️
Closet looks so much bigger. Great job Alexandra. So glad to see Xico.
Nice to see chico again that pantry is so great
Yasssss! Xico! Xico! Xico! But Xico aside I love all your makeovers😍. Lol rosamonte yerba mate, huge bbq charcoal for Sundays asado, Liz may have Argentina or Uruguay background
I much prefer this format with just you talking😁 better than interacting with your team which I find distracting…I just want to listen to YOU💞🌹🌹
The amount of personality had with the bloopers makes me excited for another video! Great job!
Blown away by the transformation. Well done and happy to see Xico back.
Oooh another bedtime tea with Alexandra 🫖, can't wait 🌼
I wouldn’t have even known this was the same room! What a beautiful neat organized pantry now! Great job Alexandra!! 🥰❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The track shelves look so much better. Also that wallpaper is bomb
Loved the makeover love everything you did I'm so glad she was happy with it
i love it when xico pops up
I love the left in extras, especially the sass from your camera lady
You look great in that rusty color tee! The pantry looks great as well!
🙌 So amazing!! I’m now staring at my pantry, am I ready to pull everything out?! 😂 Maybe I’ll wait for my MUD/WTR to arrive first!!! 🥳🤩 Loved it all!! 👏
Xico!!!! Love seeing, hearing him in the videos!
Xico is back!!! More of Xico, please!!! Great makeover!!!
Chef's kiss!
EXCELLENT JOB! So inspiring! Now, if I could only have a pantry that large ....
It’s the wallpaper for me 😍
Great job!!!
What about access to fuse box?
Wow what a change!
Fabulous. Im moving
& will use these tips for sure. Thank you
First, Xico we missed you & we appreciate you!!
Cute pantry redo, so nicely organised.
Nailed it! Great organization...basket, crates, jars & etc. A place for everything.
Also tear off the box instructions and put it inside the jar or tape to the back of the jar.
She said it at some point 😉
I NEEDED this video!!!!!!!!! I am so excited. I have a super awkward space that I'd love to turn into a open pantry. ALSO- can we just talk about your adorable shorts?!?! ilysm.
Well done Alexandra. Looks airy light inviting. Wondering about the shelf near that little door on the right. Is that an electric board? Don't you need access to it? Such a shame I don't have a pantry. Maybe one day. 🤩👍👌🖖
You are so good at what you do!! Love this transformation. 😊
