    After you’ve fried the pork chops try making the garlic and walnut topping in the same pan so you get all of the drippings and lard from the pork .. you can utilize all of the flavor and dirty one less pan 😊

    I marvel at your knowledge and what I would like to know is how did you acquire your work ethic and your waste-not-want-not attitudes at SUCH A YOUNG AGE? I'm an old lady city girl and have learned so much from your channel (as well as from other TH-cam homesteaders both young and old). For lack of resources, location and physical fitness, it's entirely too late for me, but I am inspired from what I see in the homesteading community and it gives me great hope for the future.

    Anytime you want your breading to stick (on any food item) use cornstarch before you apply sticky coating. If you've ever taken the first bite into a onion ring and the entire onion pulls out...it wasn't covered by corn starch.

    Next time you make fritters, add a tsp of baking powder, which will make them light and crispy!

    NGodly children I am so please I hadn’t seen these videos that go back about four years. Both of you oh super good cooks the food I never had in my life since part of it I was raised in Manhattan and ignore this appetizing meals. Surely I would appreciate them even more when I was young and very hungry. I say this because I know my appetite is gone. As you have noticed I live abroad, Mallorca to be exact. My dad born in USA Decided to take us back, when Francos regime made it impossible for us to remain in Spain. I was very lucky to be taken to USA as an American when I was raised as best as possible. But I’ve missed the nature I used to be used to. We had to struggle in New York where we live by Riverside Drive we’re I spent most of my free time dreaming…I was only eleven.
    If you read this you know why being American I ignore all or most of the dishes that seem succulent that you prepare.
    I’m most grateful do you build for your fabulous videos, and information of Alaska and everything you do. You’re very generous and lovely couple that I have learned to love. Stay safe always and happy. Blessed

    • @SimpleLivingAlaska
      @SimpleLivingAlaska  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we could! Theoretically it should be fine since the water is draining now but we haven't experienced the coldest temps yet :)

  • @ravenhummel8202

    The skillet pan handle should always be away from you to prevent accidents.

    • @ytreece
      @ytreece 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s mainly to keep little kids from bumping it. When you cook you use the handle to adjust the pan etc. Let these poor people cook without keyboard quarterbacking!
