    Great video. Most people think about the romantic idea of living off grid. But there's a lot of work involved however you guys being a team and doing it together makes it all worthwhile! Thanks.

      @@SimpleLivingAlaska oh yeah, big ti e beautiful to see & I am learning so much! You two are an awesome couple that works so hard & plays harder. Just askin'~ would it be good for the birds to have more greens or would they waste your hard work? It just seems that you are blessed so with vegetation you planted!

      @503rpf 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@SimpleLivingAlaska Do you 2 have a video about how your able to financially sustain this lifestyle?? Because that's the one I need to see. I'm in Oregon and that Polaris is right around 18/20g used. Good deals are out there but it's not everytime🤔🤔 I have a house "completely paid off" I could rent out and move. But that would not cover all the extra cool stuff🤑

      @@503rpf That is what I’d like to see too! I imagine they are earning some from there TH-cam channel as well though. Fascinating lifestyle

    • @kyrieeleison2793
      @kyrieeleison2793 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@503rpf They were lucky enough to be born in the bay area and got into the housing market there before it blew up. Then they used those proceeds to level up in Oregon before the boom happened here and leveled up even more. I looked at the ziilow info and they made like 200k on their Oregon property, likely near the same amount for Cali, if not more it being in the Bay area. Everyone in the West, outside of Cali, knows how Californians sell big and then move to AZ, OR, WA, Alaska, etc and live better than the natives do, driving up home prices in the process. Since then, they're earning a decent salary being influencers, but they couldn't have "retired" at 30 without that Cali deal, that's for sure. I like them and all, but their success--as they have stated in one of their earlier videos--is due mostly to luck in the beginning. Obviously, they have the determination to build off of it though, but it's still a little frustrating how they portray living in Alaska like this when for most Alaskans it is far less romantic and "simple." 20k tractor here, 20k offroad buggy there, 16k boat here, 10k jetski there. remote cabin here, rental property there. No "simple" people can afford that type of stuff in four years without a six figure income and an additional six figure savings!

Currently, the world is enduring a pandemic that is creating much uncertainty for many, including myself. Thanks for helping me get a break from the chaos!

    Nice to know that you read all of our comments. And you get a lot! We also appreciate all the videoing that you do and bringing the beauty of Alaska to us. I've never been to Alaska, but have wanted to drive there on the AlCan Hwy. I talked to a guy here in Wisconsin who said he drives there every year and runs his dogs in the Iditarod. First and only person I've ever talked to who was actually in the Iditarod. I enjoyed your video. It was nice to spend a day on your homestead.

    I’m sure I would like living like this. I’ve been wanting to move to Alaska. They are surrounded by heavenly nature. Many modern people are drawn to nature, to their ethnic roots. Simple, self-sustaining life is a way to go. It’s good for the earth & life on earth. I view modern urbanization as something negative & very destructive, but that’s just my own perception of it. I’m happy for them, and maybe even a little jealous, because they’ve already begun their off grid self-sustaining life, means they are safe from the horrors that are coming in the future. These guys secured their bloodline, safely existing of-grid, not relying on any system, or on anyone. Living a healthy beautiful life. Good for you guys.

    I like watching fellow Alaskans as I have been one since 1970, right after service worked in the south east till 89 then came to Anchorage but as soon as I visited Wasilla area and I was hooked so moved to valley in 98 and never left. Your garden looks so good. I can live on beet greens!! I lived on a float house in the southeast and had sea food year round. I even had a garden on my float which was large. Seabass and all kinds of fish that probably never had a name, ( very ugly)/LOL I subscribed this morning cause your the kind of people I like even if I am 72

Just got back from our families places after the holidays, and our home was freezing, our (non metal) pipes just froze, our oven quit working, and I was stocked up with water and ideas to heat the house, wash the dishes, and everything.

    Totally awesome videos,
    I currently live in Washington state. But use to fish commercially up there from the Bering Sea, out west, off of Unimak Island, prince William sound, S.East Ak., inside & outside waters of Washington state, Oregon coast, & San Francisco Bay for hering.
    I truly miss everything about Alaska. An amazing state. Even though the winters up there are, well challenging is an understatement sometimes. But that builds character I think.
    I'm up there in age now, 62 years young this coming January. But watching your videos kinda take me back there, without freezing my backside off in the process.
    And thanks for the education as well. You guys are very informative, and people that watch your videos can learn a LOT.
    So keep up the great work, you're both doing a great job teaching the rest of the country, and the world about the country in itself, "The awesome State of Alaska".
    Take care, & All the best to you guys.
    Sincerely,
    Virgil V. Jr.

When I was young I always wanted to live on a small holding with our six children, unfortunately it never happened as my husband had a bad accident at work. I’m enjoying watching the both of you having this fabulous life, working so well together. I’m 66 years old and thought I knew a lot about baking and freezing foods but you have both definitely learnt me so much more about growing your own vegetables and canning, so thank you I’m enjoying every episode since I found you on u tube. One thing i have learned from binge watching your videos is that i would rather have the quiet sounds of Alaska or whatever is going on in the video rather than the music. 👍🤩. Thanks. Enjoy your videos.

    Happy Whatever Day!!! When people live their lives in the nature it pretty much does not matter what country it is (maybe just postal code will tell the truth Lol ) and btw Alaska used to be Russian :)
    Good luck guys! You are such an inspiration

    When we lived in north Idaho and central oregon we had to do alot of what you all do trying to get our animals and our home yard ready for deep snows cold all that comes living in a bitter cold environment. It's tough but fun as well it's like is worth it . I really enjoy your Alaska vlogs Alaska was always on my bucket list of course. Have some close friends who are living the Alaska dream right now. Stay safe and happy.

    Love 💗 watching your awesome beautiful life , I’m so glad to have found your videos and I’m hooked on your TH-cam channel. How much joy it must be to wake up to your homestead everyday and see what you grow to your animals ect..
    Everyone should try and live this way to save the planet and ourselves from all the chemicals that others feed and put in there livestock to sell at the markets to the public. Way to go for your awesome job and TH-cam video channel.👏🙏👍💕🐓🥦🥬🍠🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰thank you for sharing your experience and journey, keep up the great work.. can’t wait to see what you do next. Loving this lifestyle and love you.💕💕💕💕💕💕👍👍👍👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

    I have so much fun watching your videos. My husband core drilled in Alaska for many years back in the 80s and 90s. I never got to visit because of all the flying costs. I imagine us doing what you are. We did settle in Idaho but never become self Sufficient.

    Thinking about your fan situation in the poly tunnel: how about grading the tunnel so that one end is higher than the other? That way, you get natural air flow without using power.
