    You both look so young to be so knowledgeable, obviously your both very talented in everything that you are doing. I think it’s just perfect the relationship you have. Do you really agree on everything ? It’s just been so good catching up on your episodes I feel like I’m watching them backwards sometimes. I’ve especially loved to watch the canning and the fishing episodes. I’m learning so much, I can’t wait to watch the next episode, it’s so well thought out. Thank you it’s done me the world of good after being in critical care with covt for two months and having not been able to hardly move or my oxygen levels drop considerably, it’s been like a breath of fresh air watching your programme. Thank you with all my heart.,god bless you both. X

    Couple quick tips on those string repairs- you don’t need to fight to thread the needle, it can be put in the same way it pulls out. Also, giving it a quarter turn or so before removing the needle helps it grab in the hole better. The rubber cement does no good, as you mention. Just spray it with your soapy water. Dish soap (not diluted) also can be very useful for getting a tire to seal to a rim. Also, those red plugs are ‘ok’, but swing by Napa and get blue ones, they seal way better. I’ve made a lot of people happy in my lifetime (several on the Alcan) just from having that kit with me, not counting my own uses.

    I’ve said it before on other vids, but you so remind me of my dad, his way of teaching and all the little tips. ‘If you can’t fix it, ride it on the rim and buy new tires’😂
    I appreciate your knowledge and that you share it.

    Trick with the tire kit is if it's a small puncture and you can't fit the reamer tool in there, drill it out with a drill bit smaller than the reamer so you can fit the reamer tool in the hole.

    I have had good luck with the tire repair kits, but I have never used them on a sidewall. If you find that the plug doesn't hold in the sidewall you may need to try using a tube in the tire.

    Shoveling snow in shorts. Your dogs are not only beautiful, they are so well behaved. You are right: the stronger the color with fruit/vegetables, the more antioxidants. Prunes, surprisingly, have more antioxidants than blueberries. Stew pie looks delicious. Well done, as EVERYTHING you two do!

    Purple potatoes are awesome! I wanted Purple Viking, but I was too late ordering, and I got Russian Blue (still purple, though it's called blue) instead. I had never heard of purple potatoes until 3 years ago when I learned how to garden and grow my own food. I was fascinated with the colour change when cooking--they start out purple, the water turns turquoise when boiling, and violet when you do baked. I was getting all my friends to watch me cook them so they could see, LOL. Super nutritious potato!

    • @SimpleLivingAlaska
      @SimpleLivingAlaska  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tammy Marie purple varieties are our favorite not just the color but we find they store the longest, at least 6 months! Purple Viking has a really pretty stark white flesh but I'm a sucker for the purple colored flesh like the Russian Blue.

I don't know if it would work in the snow or even if you had a source. But I have used nitrogen in my tyres for years, if you get A puncture the tyre will not go flat a dx fast. But you only need to top up every 6 months or so, but that's in suburban, Victoria Australia. Hug's to you both your dog's, cat's and the poor common outdoor ally cats. I live in New Zealand and the Maori people who are the indigenous tribe here use a lot of plant life as medicinal practices such as (Dodonoea viscose) the leaves and bark is good for indigestion, gout and rheumatism. It is also used on wounds as a healant, reducing swelling and good for burns and scalds. (Usnea barbata) as an antibiotic. (Cyathea medullaris) external inflammatory condition, burns, cell regeneration,
