- Here's a quick tutorial on how to setup 1 monitor, 2 monitors, 3 monitors and so on. It's very simple and the main things needed are multiple monitors, the proper display connector or adapter, and a PC that has more than 1 display out.

This video saved me from an unneccesseray purchase. I almost bought a DVI to HDMI even though I have a DP cable and a HDMI cable. If it werent mentioned I never would have realised that my PC has both HDMI and DP input. For that I am forever grateful

I think you can sometimes use the on board graphics from the Motherboard as well if you enable it from the BIOS software firmware. The onboard graphics card is disabled when you add an additional graphics card, but you can override it in the BIOS if you want to (more often than not).

Thank you for explaining that only the lower hdmi port is connected to the graphics card! was my main issue the entire time as I kept trying to connect using my upper hdmi port. Such a silly mistake.....but so glad you explained it!

i have 2 monitors, both use vga and dont have an hdmi option, i used one vga to hdmi, and that worked for one monitor, for the other monitor, i bought a vga to usb because my pc only has one hdmi port, and no vga ports, and now ive connected those all, but the second monitor (the one that takes vga to usb) isnt working, what do i do

I have a portable monitor that I want to use as a second monitor for my gaming setup. The portable monitor has mini hdmi to regular hdmi but my pc only has DisplayPort and hdmi on the graphics card. And my main monitor is connected to the hdmi port on my pc. If I get an adapter, will the mini hdmi to DisplayPort adapter work with the portable monitor?

straightforward content is SO refreshing! Might you help? I set up a touchscreen portable monitor and am having an issue with separating the touchscreen function from affecting the main monitor. As for the mouse, I can use it independently on each device, but when I try to use touchscreen with finger or pen tool, the mouse action is on both monitors. My tower is a refurb HP Elite Desk There are two display ports, no HDMI, therefore I am using display to HDMI for connection to each monitor. I have verified that drivers are up to date on any port I and employing. The portable monitor is a UPERFECT Y touchscreen model.

Each monitor has to connect to the computer. A splitter is used if you want the same display to be shown on multiple monitors. If you want to use extended screens, you'll need to connect the 2nd monitor to the computer somehow. You may be able to use a USB to VGA adapter. It may or may not work
IF you have 2 ports in one monitor but only one port on my of can I connect the second monitor to the main monitor that has 2 ports?
Each monitor has to connect to the computer. I don't believe there's any way to daisy chain monitors together.

TIP: For people who cant access there second monitor but it’s showing your day to day apps. LITERALLY go to settings and make the blue rectangle where your monitor are placed. If ur main mon is placed on your right and in setter its on the left 🚫

??? You just use your computer mouse as normal. It makes no sense to buy a mouse for the 2nd display. Otherwise, I'm not sure I understand your dilemma.

so an issue I have is that I have an old gaming monitor HP omen brand and another new monitor is Aopen, the Omen brand is display cable and the AOpen is HDMI. The issue is that both are connected to the graphics card but only one displaying is the Aopen and my pc is not recognizing the display port Omen brand, would I need to have them both on HDMI and on a splitter for them both to work?
What graphics card do you have? Most gaming cards support multiple monitors. Can you confirm that the HP Omen monitors works fine if it is the only monitor connected?

So i found out how to duplicate monitors. Use the Windows key +R and it will show you 4 options to choose from.

i understand the problem but i still want to confirm, i just got a new monitor thats 180hz so im using that as my main monitor but my other monitor thats 75hz is going to be on the side, i have 3 display ports and one hdmi port on my gpu output, however neither came with a display port only with hdmi, so i can only have one on at the same time, i already ordered a display port for my new monitor but why is it that the gpu port is the only port that is outputting video? why cant i use the motherboards hdmi port?

Yo open 2 browser windows. Move one of them to the other monitor. You can now use 2 different websites simultaneously.

By default, they will be duplicated. Meaning whatever is being displayed on your main monitor gets duplicated to the other monitor. You can setup an extended display so that you have 2 independent screens. You can change it in Display settings: Settings>System>Display

You move the mouse over to the second screen and click on the item you want to write. Then, you can start typing.

That has nothing to do with the monitors. The power supply provides power to the components in your PC, like a graphics card. What you need to see is how many ports your graphics card has.
