I have mine set to extended screen with my hp edge laptop as the main. but whenever i scroll right to the monitor screen and try to load google on the monitor independently it will open google on my laptop. not sure if this made sense lol. But i’m trying to figure out how to use the monitor independently from the laptop, instead of it loading something to the laptop after I click on it on the monitor screen. Thanks
@@joehall1946 the application opens on your laptop because that is the main display. You'll either need to drag the app everything you open it to monitor or make the monitor the main display.

@@cawhainhi3074 Check what monitor you have and navigate the button which shows you the settings (similar to a television either at the bottom or behind), reading the manual if your monitor has one helps you navigate through the buttons and ports your monitor has. Hopefully this helps your problem, have a nice day.
my main pc isnt converting to my 2nd moniter and says cannot be detected. its a 2022 moniter so shouldnt have issues. this guys video doesnt go over issues with trying to figure it out.

Another way, instead of going into settings to extend or duplicate, is 'the start button' and 'p'. Press them both together, then it'll give you options (duplicate, extend, only on 1, only on 2).

yeah this is a great video.This video helped me extend my screen display for an HP monitor that was chucked out because of a broken screen. replaced the screen and it displays beautifully like a gem the images and video. Great explanation and detail, and no boring 100 hour intro.

5:27 my second screen doesn’t do anything on its own. Everything I do displays on the laptop.

The laptop goes to sleep when it's shut, meaning the second monitor has nothing to show since the computer isn't showing anything.

Why is my hp saying "didn't detect another display"
You have to press duplicate display to get to use two
Scroll down to "Multiple Displays" then from the drop down menu select "Extend these displays"
