This plane is great. One of my friends won a game in a 1v5 with the F-5E. First he had a 1v3 against a Draken, Mig 21, and a F-104. He won that engagement without taking any damage. Then, when he landed, A Mig-21 tried to strafe him on the Airfield. He took off, turned immediately and won the engagement. The last guy was a Mig-23 or a F-5E I think, I can’t remember. He got well over 70k SL. For a plane that’s not premium, that’s pretty good.
The f5 has over buffed damage model that some times takes 2 missiles to put it down. The flares have been buffed so that r60s are immediately defeated even with afterburner still engaged. Aim9js and Es have been buffed to be resistant to flares. The speed retention is over buffed that you can completely turn around in Mach and still be supersonic. This is why it’s such a great plane at the moment. I have pulled more ace games in it than every jet I own. Even the bis. A nerf is coming, mark my words. Once the sales drop from the f5 GJ will restore balance. They do this every patch to get suckers to buy premiums. Veteran players know this already.
@Jalopezlag I hope it will, maybe making 10k more repair? 🤷♀️ Since F5 doing all round good with those gun ammo-velocity, flares, and can keep up in turn that barely bleed as well as how fast it is. It just straight easy comparing to other plane at the moment.

Yea it flew way too fast on release. The 19 was stupid buffed at one point and remained that way. The difference is they are not premiums. Gaijin buffs the hell out of premiums and then nerfs them again when hype dies. They do this fore sales. As for the F5e. It will get a slight nerf. But it will largely remain the same. Cmon I know who you are in game. You have the same name. You are a veteran player. You know these thing happen every patch. The F5c will be nerfed and parts of the E not as much but a nerf is coming.

F-5 Tiger is a combination of a turn fighter and an energy fighter. I've seen a teammate fighting 3 Mig21bis and he managed to stay alive until i arrived after refueling, repairing and rearming.
Got F5E yesterday and I refuse to use AIM9Bs, so it's cannons only for the time being. Seriously though why would they give AIM9Bs to jets that out maneuver and out run them.
How does your RWR not cover your instrument readings? My RWR covers up some of my numbers and ot bothere me sooo Much! Does anyone know how to fix this?
It’s not bad at all. The stock grind the the f-5e is not painful at all, it is one of the best stock grinds I’ve ever had to deal with. You get stock missiles.
@@_lo8241 It can literally still fly pretty effectively without the entire tail section including the engine model. Watch the intro of Spitflyers video yesterday and tell me with a straight face that something isn't wrong there.
Yeah, a tough damage model is great if you plan on being shot. It’s flight performance is fine (actually under performing because the auto slats aren’t working)

I don't know exactly what year f5e is used in wt, so I'd assume a later upgrade. As for service, it was built for U.S service but it was exported just the the F-16 is. It just didn't see combat in US service like it does in other countries.
It means the enemy won't be alerted to which direction you're at, radars mean pings on their radar warning receiver which can be used to get a vector to you. In this case, he knows where hey are so has no need to keep the radar on. Gives him the potential to surprise them.
@@DEATHREAPER330 an RWR is essentially just a passive listening device (in a sense). It detects radar signals from other aircraft, ground based search radars or any other actively emitting source. It can even tell specifically what kind of SAM for instance or jet has you locked based off of their individual radar waves. It’s primary goal is to alert the pilot to attacks from radar guided weapons so SAM’s or AAM’s. It’s secondary purpose is to give situational awareness. Given the F-5E doesn’t have radar guided missiles he has no use for his radar except to locate threats. His RWR will tell him where radar emissions are coming from as I said before which allows you to develop an awareness of where threats are. So if you’re trying to be sneaky in top tier say on Korea turn that radar off and fly low by the mountains and pop up to surprise folks. One tip I’ll give you is if somebody is camping their airfield you can tell if they just have old style AAA or radar guided AAA/SAM’s by checking the RWR it’ll ping because it detects the radars, not all maps have SAM’s modelled on them yet so it’s important to know.
For countermeasures you should use flares (maybe reinforced) and as of for the radar just to use it to help your missile aquire the target, it helps a lot in close distance side-on shots
rate fighting being pure turning speed ("rate"), what we would generally think about as a turn fight, and Energy fighting being holding more speed through maneuvers while the other plane slows down, eventually giving you the advantage.

Not hating or anything, this plane looks so easy to fly that it's almost boring again. It's a great plane and I'm not saying it's bad but it's boring to watch. I would compare this feeling to the Chaika. Turns wherever you want and however tight you want, has all the speed you need, has all the guns you need. It's just not an interesting plane to watch. And at some point playing it isn't that amazing either. If you don't have to worry about your enemies, where's the fun? Don't get me wrong, I like the F-5E and the Chaika, they're just boring.
I can't wait for the F-16. It will be like the F-5E, only with way better acceleration, climb rate, as well as much better missiles and radar, and a way higher top speed. One day. One day.

If a Draken loses to a TigerShark WITH the help of teammates, then that Draken player was bad.

It’s not bad at all. The stock grind the the f-5e is not painful at all, it is one of the best stock grinds I’ve ever had to deal with. You get stock missiles.
