Jets are interesting but honestly I think props are cooler and its a better time to think about. Other than early jets the historical accuracy is all hypothetical since vietnam and the Israeli Arab war were the only times those jets correctly matched each other. Cold war gameplay isnt historically accurate because it never happened
@@jodyo8161 Well even for props the historical matchmaking is gone since 2-3 years at least. Probably due to player count decrease. You can still play a historical battle if you play as Germany, Italy, USA, France at 1.0-2.0.
And you have the highest chance out of all of them if you play an Italian fighter, around 90% of the times you'll get a historical matchmaking

Korea, Vietnam, Iran-Iraq, multiple conflicts involving Israel, multiple direct but minor skirmishes between USA and USSR (advanced jet fighters killed advanced jet fighters, yes), China-India (brief and India was reluctant to engage but they did contest air space), Danube (minimal air resistance but aircraft still had to face modern air defenses), Iraq-US/Coalition (same as Danube, Iraqis buried their aircraft in the sand), Indo-Pakistani (high intensity air combat), Falklands War, and a lot more that I don't feel like recalling!
Where exactly is the cold war air combat that never happened?
I know this is an old post but I don't want anyone to read this absurdity in the future and actually absorb it as fact! There was a LOT of conflict in the cold war, cold war didn't mean "low intensity with few conflicts" it meant "the planet hasn't been consumed by nuclear fire"! Jet aircraft were deployed by anyone who could afford them in many roles, and often came into border skirmishes all over the planet, if they were not thrown into all out war.
The D28 is in fact a fucking turbocharged powerhouse. I love that plane

@@Xiphactinus ok actually, turbosupercharging was an early term for turbocharging. As time passed, people began to use the shorter term, so the term "turbosupercharging" sort of died out. The R-2800 variants fitted to the P-47 were turbocharged rather than supercharged like most R-2800 variants. Also, an engine that is both turbocharged and supercharged is known as a "twincharged" setup. I don't know of any plane that used a twincharged engine sorry

That, and it's the only thing you can really use to reliably grind through Rank III China before getting a Rank IV, without using a premium or any of the bombers.
The chinese P-47s are mostly flown better than the american ground kissers in air RB

I love the P47 D28 in US, but dear lord the teams let me down so hard by all dying before I even get to operational altitude. I’ve been having much better times with German teams playing the Chinese one.

If you're very desperate you can also control your turbocharger. You can increase power above 7k back up to 2800hp for a minute or so, before the engine almost dies.
It's almost therapeutic to watch.
Watch as Gaijin scrambles to "balance" the D-28 now with "a more adequate" repair cost and/or higher BR so that we can't have fun in it.
Bruh u have no idea how mad i was when they upped its repair cost and lowered its sl and rp earnings it was my sl grinder for months and i had like 450 kills in it

I've been enjoying this plane a lot lately. One of my favourite new tricks is to shallow climb a better climbing plane that wants to focus you to over 7000m, maybe around 8000m and and then totally walk on them with the better power and energy this has up there.

Hi @DEFYN, loving the content. Would like to ask the following: The P47 is the plane that made me start using MEC when the OrangeDoom dropped a video mamy years back.
I would love if you did a video of a broad range of props and explain different unique MEC uses. For example, German 109s, uses MEC in the climb but after that use auto prop pitch to not damage the engine, but have the manual ready at 100% if an airbreak is needed later.
Hope some russian planes have no WEP but still overheat on auto engine controls but having a little leas than 100% prop pitch lets more air in the engine to cool it and even 10 - 15% rads open keeps the engune cool for much longer.
It's harder find this specific cases by case info for different groups of planes... And it's not typical info I've seen on climb charts. Esp mixture settings. I play mouse and keyboard on console.... So can't use the mod like some PC friends that can see a live read out of HP to find out a good mixture and pp setting.
Your advice for MEC on props from reserve to top pros would be awesome. If there is a resource like a table/chat i would love to know.
Best i have is AdamtheEngineerds table after the MEC vids ye made together.
I kept requesting it on his discord haha. Knew the basics but still looking for this specific info that chats don't always explain.

With the 109F, G, and K series you can keep prop pitch on automatic and have manual control of radiators. This helps you control engine temp and manage overheating without worrying about killing your engine. A lot of planes have auto mixture control and in others in just isn’t modelled. I did tests with some planes and you can set mixture to 0 and it has no effect.
@@wyvern7567 yes. That is why the few that do not have these settings, or are better on MEC.... Then it would be a great video to make of all planes that benefit from MEC :)
@@wyvern7567 Don't forget that for BF109s auto radiators on 100% throttle gives more speed than radiators at 100% and throttle at WEP

I don't think good planes need to be uptierd any more then they are alot do them suffer in the hands of new players but for experienced players they're god mode but for new players they kind of suck

tbh this is amazing tbh. You literally won a fight against 5 quite powerful fighters of which the Pilots mostly kept playing within the strengths
Why does your instructor never seem to mess with your plane? I have most instructor stuff turned off without switching to mouse joystick or full real but even then it still messes with my plane sometimes
Switch to keyboard and mouse even if your on console most games can be played with mouse and keys just by plugging them into your console

Not in the slightest
The N-15 is super heavy and outright pretty bad below 5km

Give it some practice and it won’t disappoint! This plane and the p-38L are probably my two favorites
Just be patient and P-47 will serve you well.
Same, however, pulling off a 1v4 in a sunderland mk5 is quite easy, you are a flying whale at br, and half the time you are chasing down fighter aircraft lol. Kudos to this legend in the p47

I made it spaded, but it's a P-47D-30 Thunderbolt in the china techtree with airbrakes

Meh...hardly a realistic game in a P47, usually you're up against at least 3 enemy fighters that are at you're same altitude as you so no BnZ...

Guys you can replicate this game the majority of the time. Americans climb directly under the germans so by the time youre at altitude to work, you have maybe a bomber left. Unless the p38 gets a lot of enemies low, you can do these same strats 70% of the time. Possibly good players in the d22 and p51c sidecimb themselves after seeing you boom the zeroes they would be more even playing field
Can I ask how you can spot the enemy so well? Typically when I'm at that altitude and all my allies are gone, I can't see any enemies on the deck, which means I basically can't do shit until I get lower and give up my altitude advantage. Is it that you have the expert training for your crew or sth? My current keen vision / awareness stats are pretty near 5 bars full for both already.
And do you have advice for me on where to fly to or how to strategically descend should I not be able to see anyone? I usually end up doing a sort of dive down and back up, only to find a spitfire above me.
don't really rely on the spotting system, i know this sounds cliche or like an obvious thing, the spotting system is absolute garbage. just look around for dots, but don't look too much because if you don't see a dot within 10 seconds its most likely not there.

Is there a reason you manually set the prop pitch, you can leave it on auto and still control mixture and radiators
I normally do that but with the p47s you don't lose power but you can close your radiators because the lower prop pitch produces less heat

Although I've never had to use MEC what does the 85 prop pitch and 90 mixture do? Does it give me more performance?
90% mixture allows you to output as much engine power even at sea level. 85% prop pitch reduces RPM, allowing you to reach faster level speeds than with max prop pitch. Lower RPM also means lower engine and oil temperatures, so you don't really need to operate radiators and have much better performance in the long term.

Man I hate that thing if I'm flying my D-25 Thunderbolt, the enemy gets your plane that's also got 500 extra horse power.
I'm still amazed how long it one time took for the enemy D-28 to kill me, which was in headon, which I butchered. Not that I couldn't have done anything else, because I already tried equalising the engine power by climbing to my critical altitude : (

An urelated question and probably a stupid one too. Well! Recently I have switched to realistic battel, qurently flying P40. I knew that the plane will behave in a diffrent more "sllugish" way, but JHC, it feels like i AM flying a brick. So my stupid question is : if you have done all the research in as an arcade mode do You have to go through the same proces in realistic mode. I see You flying p47, and yes, it behaves "worse" than in arcade but still IT is flyable, my planes on realistic are useless :( any clues?!?!
honestly, just play realistic more and you'll adapt. especially learn to roll into your turns, arcade boosts rudder effectiveness to ridiculous levels
Any reason you use tracer rounds instead of universal?
I’ve been in this situation too. I was the last fighter(F4U-4B) and the last teammate alive was a PBY. After saving PBY from AD-4(4th kill) i got Ta 152 H and Tempest mk V above me. I managed to kill the Ta 152(5th and last kill) in a head on but unfortunately the Tempest ran away(idk why, he wasn’t damaged). So i went for landing crafts because the ticket was critical and chasing the Tempest and the other bombers would take too much time.
How is the P-47N?
It gets more ammo than P-47D-28 (4000 vs 3400). It rolls noticeably better, but it climbs and dumps speed worse than P-47D-28. Most P-47 tips apply, but it's one of the more challenging P-47s to play. It's weighed down by being heavier than P-47D.

I got a talisman for that thing in like 3 years ago or so, the only A model I play. Unlike it's big brothers it actually has some decent perfomance for the Br, and the 7.92s are surprisingly good

Why do you always use 600m convergence? Is there any specific reason for that? I've noticed you use it for different planes regardless of the gun mounted position
600 is a good position between 1000 and 100-200 so it works for close and long shots and isn’t too rough to compensate for.
The d-28 is the plane I fly when playing US solo. Its one of the few planes at this tier that is competitive with the axis planes when flying solo and I can carry in it, even with my rather low skill level. I can't seem to make the p-51s work thanks to their rudder compression (don't have the d-30 yet though).
the D28 is better than the D30 imo, they have very similar climbing and straight line speed capabilities but D28 is p47 and .3 BR lower with more firepower

My problem with WT is to estimate where to aim. No matter what I try this is still something I have to guess and I am doing It for years with minor improvements. I am fine with everything else. The problem is it depends on lots of factors.
It’s hard dude. Just be glad they don’t add wind or we’d never hit shit.
If you play arcade for a while with the aim assist you generally get a feel for where the aim marker will be when you than switch to realism, try to visualize that circle moving about. Also leading your target and allowing them to fly into your fire is practical but will require your opponent to not make an adjustment
my problem is trying to remember the leads of all the different guns, as i play mostly US, Germany and Japan, but dabble in the others. and with the vast slew of different rifle caliber mgs, heavy mgs, cannons (small and large), if i play too much of one nation for a while, i forget how all the other nations guns handle lol
at this point we should feel like pressing tab every single game and looking for VTE and DEFYN on the enemy team if you see it *ya know ya all fcked* people should know this by now lol

Whats your recommendation to grind out the Chinese aircraft tree without premiums?
It's pretty okay imo, but tier 1-3 is quite a pain. Tier 4 onwards is where I think the Chinese tech tree starts to get better cuz there's a few powerful planes
