A few things I like with this game, at least so far:
- The music is fantastic.
- The gameplay is more physics-driven and momentum-based.
- The ranking system looks more unique and sleeker.
- Mighty and Ray's modern designs I actually really like. (Though I don't know if they came from somewhere else)
- The voices, while they could use a bit of work, actually still fit for the characters.
- The chemistry between said characters is more genuine and colorful, while keeping a comedic flare. (This game has gave me some chuckles and laughs a good few times)
- Eggman here has a bit more of an edge to his attitude, which is something that I admire and feels like a breath of fresh air compared to mainline Eggman's overwhelming goofiness as of late.
The ray and mighty design is from the Archie comics slightly tweaked.

@Fin. he has a bounce dash, which is like a drop dash but it instantly hits the ground so i guess it's like a stomp mix with a drop dash.
That sunset boulevard is like my wet dreams if music to my ears. Is there a place where i can find that track?

A high level of sass has been detected coming from that two-tailed fox. Yeah, Tails is dishing out some good ones.
Motobugs in other games: Goofy, adorable
Motobugs pursuing you with killer intent in this game: AAAAAAA
They were also pretty intimidating in colours as well
Those motobugs are genuinely a terrifying badnik in this game. You'll be enjoying the speed, and hearing the rev of their engine as they close in from behind. Worse part is they usually start off hidden to one side of the straights, so you never see them as you charge past them, yet they can STILL catch up. Forget boss fights, just throw tons of motobugs at Sonic!

Not covered here, but there are other characters besides Mighty and Sonic which are playable. You can also play as Ray, Metal Sonic, Classic Sonic and, of course, Super Sonic. There are secrets hidden in the levels which can unlock these extra characters. Super Sonic is his own separate playable character, rather than it being a transformation. If he runs out of rings, you die. He starts each level with 50 rings, but he's only playable on the challenges or time trials.
I am loving that the game is getting received very well! I'm glad to be apart of the voice cast for this!
The momentum physics in this game is beautiful. And I'm normally boost to win lol

This game is soo good but I despise the Sunset Boulevard boss fight. It was such a pain to beat.
I had to drop the game because I couldn't beat it, glad its not just me
I like only the first boss. The other ones are waitfests.

@@ellieporter3270 switching to mighty makes it easier. it's still not fun but since he doesn't take damage while rolling or jumping you won't get hit as frequently
I thought so too at first but the truth is this boss is WAAAYYYYYY easier than you would think . There is a lightning bubble prior to the fight and if you get it, you can actually use the bounce attack with basically every character to beat him while he is air borne because the lightning bubble negates all of the damage of the lightning orbs and you can also spam homing attacks if well timed to decimate him. I have beat him 6 times using this technique and each time it was before he even had a chance to land. I have also S ranked the stage twice. It actually was my first S ranked stage.

This was actually the most egregious thing that I've ever seen someone write in terms of Sonic's overall personality and character traits. Why would he prefer that Shadow remain missing in action or DEAD because he can't put up with him when they have to work together? You honestly do not understand the way these characters interact with each other nor do you understand what these characters should and should not do, much less SAY.

The voice is not all that smooth yet, he needs to settle more in bringing out Sonic's personality, but with his own Flair and style.
No hate by the way, just some constructive criticism, the gameplay is top notch, the story is excellent, character choices are good, but the voice acting needs to go hand and hand.

Them motobugs do not play no games when it comes to chasing down sonic....I was actually scared of how fast they can go to keep up with sonic at high speed
I also like how sonic really doesn't really like shadow that much and shadow feels the same towards sonic as well... Reminds me of SA2 when they first met...plus it feels brand new for sonic since I'm so used to his usual casual and laid back for everything vibe. So it's good to see that he has different emotions and reactions towards other characters

Looks cool, but a problem I see with so many of these highly polished 3D fan games is that it's so easy for Sonic to go flying over half the stage. There's no platforming if you can just soar over the whole thing.
That’s definitely a valid critique. Think it may come from the desire for more “open” levels clashing with wanting to retain the platformer aspects of most traditional Sonic levels. The adventure games handled this in a pretty balanced way I feel; not to say they were PERFECT mind you, but still.
@@abstractAnomaly Nothing's ever perfect, but I think these boost formulas are better suited to games like Sonic Rush and Sonic Advance 2, which can continue to be made alongside more classic style games like Mania. The 3D side needs to ground itself and focus more on increasing the levels of interactivty and skill. They're way too easy.
I mean to be fair...you cant jump over the entire level to beat it and if anything, even the classic sonic games you can soar over a large part of the level. So in a sense its keeping the spirit of sonic true. Although i understand what you are saying
You're only able to do that once you've got a good understanding of the controls and level layout. It's like a reward basically.
The sad thing is, this is way better than what Sega has been doing lately.

This is the sonic game we’ve wanted for years
uh not really if you look closely you will just see that this game ISNT from the adventure style, this is a game that follow the boost formula but you can actually control your character and the map is larger thats all. Even if its a good game, what we want (the people who wants a real 3d sonic) is a game where the speed isnt that easy to get/keep, a game where we would replay to discover some new way thanks to hidden upgrade and all. You know the real "adventure" style

I wish the characters had different gameplay styles obviously keep that momentum and high speed for sonic and mighty but I feel like they could have played a bit differently. Other than looks pretty good to me

Followed this project for a while and it's so great to see how its grown from the old hilltop zone test level
Sunset Boulevard just throws rings at you. Not even halfway through the stage, he has over 400 rings. But hey. I'm not complaining.

Watched the entire story again because I can’t be bothered trying to beat sunset boulevards boss, but was some of the dialogue really necessary lol

hmm, my only complaint is the sound levels aren't great. I'd rather the music be louder than all the sound effects.
Otherwise it's great... a much better level of visual fidelity than most 3D sonic fan games, and also wide open levels conducive to the 3D gameplay, which is much appreciated over linearity.

Me seeing Sonic Central beating Sunset Boulevard: Impossible.
This pretty much shows what the Bumper Engine is capable off, given to the right individuals. Smooth and addicting gameplay, expansive yet refined level design, fun levels, multiple playable characters. None of the Jank thats normally attributed with the engine, its beautiful.

I just beat it the other day and wow the controls are good.
I know people say this stuff a lot but it's seriously the best since SA2, one of the best well made fan games ever made.
What made this so great is that the badniks could actually keep up
This is unique because of the free riders / rivals style cutscenes and the more free roaming while late games like forces or stuff or just a little road to goes on litteraly one way while this game combines all that made sonic excellent and even tho makes it a full experience

Sonic's voice in this is like a combination of Jaleel White's Sonci voice and Roger Craig Smith's Sonic voice combined and i love it!

I wasn't expecting a story, but I was pleasantly suprised.
The levels, physics, and character abilities here are now the gold standard for 3D Sonic.
I love how speed comes from skill here, and the and how the characters can all rush through the same stages while still feeling distinct.

My dream Sonic game.
Just unlocked all of the characters, and I’d say it was worth every second playing this wonderfully crafted game. The visuals, sounds, and gameplay all compliment each other to create something much bigger than the current sonic franchise. I personally enjoy the fact that there isn’t any way to boost through a level like sonic forces. As one progresses through the 4 stages, they learn what is effective for mobility and what isn’t. For example, the majority of the characters have a free-style jump in which they gain additional height and distance which can be incorporated into wall jumps, rail grinds, and spin dashes off ramps and walls. All in all, this is hands down the best Sonic fan game I have played. I wish there were more stages, but the current ones have a good amount of replay ability due to the huge cast of characters. Only thing I really don’t like about the game is that rosy the rascal/younger Amy rose constantly berates you with more bullets than any boss thus far and you cannot defeat her. The amount of bullets she shoots could probably turn a decent computer into a potato
For me, the best two parts of the game are the ability for Sonic to increase his speed and the way he jumps. Enough said.
This is very impressive. It’s clear how much work everyone on the team put into this, so kudos to them. I have issues with the level design, obviously meant to provide space for Sonic to run fast, but it unfortunately makes thins very unfocused. Honestly, they could slow Sonic down a bit, shrink down the level sizes, and the game would be much better for it. Either way, it’s a heck of a piece of work. They should re-theme everything and make this an original game so they could sell it.

This fangame is Fan-freaking-tastic. Although there's one thing that seems off... Sonic doesn't really "not like Shadow"... They're kind of... "cool" with each other, even with the rivalry they have. I just feel like Sonic not liking Shadow seems really off for his character. Other than that, excellent job!

Aspects like the boss fights and sound design need to be tweaked, but pretty much everything else is in place to make this the next great Sonic game.

Fix how? I didn't notice any bugs. Fun fact: If you get the lightning shield before you fight (it's literally in the room before the boss) you're invincible to most of its attacks. You just need to avoid the spikes to beat him.

U know what I find really weird? All momentum based sonic fan game all have one thing in common
And that is flying over the stages for most of the time skipping important sections
Maybe that's why sonic isn't fast in the official games than in the 3D ones
I mean you don't HAVE to do that. There's freedom in how you can approach these levels

Why does Sonic jump so high a fly so far when he jumps while running, it makes it twice as hard to pull off precise moves and accurately aim where I'm going to land.
Maybe slow down? Or bounce along the way or extend with a trick or something. There are several ways to go about it.

Im really impressed! The bosses arent just for show and the gameplay has improved. I LOVE the wall run mechanic. It flows so well. The only thing i hate is the sunset boulevard boss fight. Other then that it came out fantastic. The characters are in depth and their personalities spot on.
