@@Mechanrobot For the PC version of SADX there is a full mod to make it a good amount like the Dreamcast version. The big amount of separate mods that are needed to be used for the PC version of SA2B to be as good as the DC version is definitely a complicated search. I'm very glad that my parents got me the Dreamcast versions of both of the Adventure games in my childhood, that I kept them with that console, and got back into playing them in these recent years.

ngl calling sonic 3d blast a ''not groundbreaking'' game is a bit of an understatement they had to go through a lot of loops to get it working and technically speaking its a marvel, especially the intro movie aside from that tiny nitpick this was incredibly entertaining!!
I was actually quite upset when I saw that, and the sequel as well. I actually return to those two far more than the Megadrive ones. It's only Sonic 3 & Knuckles that gets more play than those.

I disagree with Sonic 1 on Master System. If we can accept Banjo-Kazooie’s collectability, why can’t we accept this game in that category? Just because its in 2-D, and how you have to truly beat it by finding the Chaos Emeralds in the level, doesn’t make it inferior in my book. It’s also got a better soundtrack-even in 8-bit.

Sonic Labyrinth is straight up, not bad. It's just terribly tiny. Like the smallest sonic game. But it probably was the inspiration for how 3D Blast worked. This was SEGA's 3d, 3d blast was traveler's tales. And the crazy thing is that they're not even that different! It's just technological gap.
Also, Sonic Drift wasn't really trying to mimic the controls of Mario Kart. Sonic Drift 1 was designed to be like another Sega racing game: Power Control. That's why the gameplay is so different from Mario Kart.
The first Sonic on the Master System is a really good game, the soundtrack is also amazing. Easily 8/10. Back in the day the conversation was that probably was better that the Genesis for many people.

Recently, I've started to gain more interest in the Sonic Universe, games, and even creepypastas. I only gained it now because i am a young kid. But i love this series. This video is genuily amazing, in my opinion. The ratings are good, the editing is amazing, the explanation is fantastic... yoh deserve way more attention. W vid.

Also I would recommend a fan game called sonic triple trouble 16 bit it’s a remake of the og triple trouble but makes it like a classic sonic game on the mega drive/ genesis. It’s fantastic!
In my opinion I don't think Generations is any longer a game or has any more substance to its story (ie any less minimalistic) than Mania so if Mania gets a 9 for those reasons then by extension I'd think Generations should have as well. Both games are awesome regardless (and I don't think Mania's that short with 12 levels, as many as any other 2D game and more than double either Sonic 4 episode). My 11/10 would go to Sonic 3&K (as a single combined full game). That slowed down Green Hill theme as the end just...works!
I'm staggered at that. I don't think I've ever seen any classic Sonic fan give the MS games such low ratings. That was my first ever Sonic game and I still played it more than the Megadrive one when I got that too.
You forgot Sonic Runners, and Sonic Jump Fever, the OG Runners were shut down in 2016, while Jump Fever was delisted in 2018 But you can still play OG Sonic Runners, it was "Sonic Runners Revival"
The master system one was great, what ya talking about!? The hand glider parts were great and for saying it was only 8 bit it had a good amount of detail. You can’t compare that to a 16 bit game.
I will say that I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't play my favorite Sonic game SegaSonic the Hedgehog (or really any of the actually released arcade games for that matter) but this video is still REALLY GOOD and very well edited. Nice job!

I really enjoyed this video! it's so fun going down to memory lane with Sonic. I'm excited to see SEGA wanting to go multi platform, cuz some of the "bad games" had potential and are deserving for proper remake or remaster. God knows how much I adore Silver and Blaze so I need 06 to get remade and rewritten haha
Incase you don't already know about it, there is the Project-06 fan-made PC remake from Chaos X. All the character stages with improvements are already available to be downloaded, and it did get mentioned that the final release with the Boss battles and The Last Story is possible to be released either sometime later this year or early next year. The Story Mode and the Hub-worlds won't be in it though some other people may likely make mods of those parts so that it can seem more complete.

@@saki_k. I hope they remaster those 2 old games too. Unleashed should get remastered and released on modern consoles so that any people (like me) who are stuck with the non-HD Wii version and want to try the HD version can have an easier way to do that than having to buy a used version of 1 of the consoles that that version was made to be playable on along with a copy of that game for it. Multiple fans know that Heroes has a bunch of flaws that can be fixed up if they remaster it for modern consoles and PC. (especially the slippery tube shaped special stages to get the Chaos Emeralds and how to enter those stages.) I'll be pre-ordering SXSG from Microsoft and I'm going for a physical copy of the Switch version because of that version's bonus features and the recently revealed reversable cover art that it will have. I hope 🤞 that like many previous other Sonic games that they will make the Digital Deluxe bonus features for it available to be perchased seperately afterwards.
Great video, but there were quite a few major Sonic games you missed. Sonic 4: Episode II and Mario & Sonic 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games are some very big ones. Others include DS/3DS versions of Sonic Colors, Generations, and Lost World (much more difficult than its Wii U counterpart).
Wow, I am shocked, I can't even play sonic 1 8 bit before I quit & here you are, playing EVERY single one. Though there have been some that you missed, this is still an amazing achievement!
Video was really good, the only things you missed was sonic erazor, and sonic extreme on the cancelled sonic games, sonic erazor is yet another puzzle game on the genesis which was cancelled, and sonic extreme was a skateboarding game which was cancelled and Sega instead made sonic riders, besides that you covered everything
For me Knuckles Chaotix and Tails Skypatrol are both great games. They have very unqie mechanics so it takes some time to understand them but once you do they are great games.
The more I think about it with these 8-bit versions, it probably took a lot to get right with Sonic's mechanics since the whole concept was about speed and developed for the Genesis/Megadrive first, Master system/Game Gear second. I love the difference in level design but it's the mechanics that ruin it, maybe due to that limitation. All that being said, Sonic Triple Trouble is one of my favorite Sonic games, so to have a 16-bit fan-made version of it now, is so amazing.

I'm a old guy that played the 2d sonics. I saw the adventures in dreamcast, and as much it looks cool, the game play seems so automatic. For me, the 3d sonics all feels that automatic, run. Maybe I just don't play enough, there's alot of them i don't even tried. But i liked the sonic heroes. I can't understand why the community rage so much on that game. (I had sonic R in saturn, the only saturn on my small town. No internet... Tails doll scared me haha, really, as a kid, I was not expecting that. I got metal sonic, and supose how to get more secret characters, I was expecting more metal things. And than, that creppy was flying. hahaha I will never be tired of remind and share that history, I wish I could share the real sense XD )

I'm staggered at that. I don't think I've ever seen any classic Sonic fan give the MS games such low ratings. That was my first ever Sonic game and I still played it more than the Megadrive one when I got that too.

The master system one was great, what ya talking about!? The hand glider parts were great and for saying it was only 8 bit it had a good amount of detail.
You can’t compare that to a 16 bit game.
I will say that I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't play my favorite Sonic game SegaSonic the Hedgehog (or really any of the actually released arcade games for that matter) but this video is still REALLY GOOD and very well edited. Nice job!

I think you really learn the mechanics before learning riders its difficult to get the hang of it but once you do it becomes an amazing game!
I really enjoyed this video! it's so fun going down to memory lane with Sonic. I'm excited to see SEGA wanting to go multi platform, cuz some of the "bad games" had potential and are deserving for proper remake or remaster. God knows how much I adore Silver and Blaze so I need 06 to get remade and rewritten haha
Incase you don't already know about it, there is the Project-06 fan-made PC remake from Chaos X. All the character stages with improvements are already available to be downloaded, and it did get mentioned that the final release with the Boss battles and The Last Story is possible to be released either sometime later this year or early next year. The Story Mode and the Hub-worlds won't be in it though some other people may likely make mods of those parts so that it can seem more complete.
@@Hedgie3 I KNOW! it's so cool to see but I meant it like officially and not fanmade? not saying that the mod isn't good but if anything I wish SEGA would hire the creators behind p-06 and work on it from there so we can all play it on multiplatform u know.

@@saki_k. I hope they remaster those 2 old games too. Unleashed should get remastered and released on modern consoles so that any people (like me) who are stuck with the non-HD Wii version and want to try the HD version can have an easier way to do that than having to buy a used version of 1 of the consoles that that version was made to be playable on along with a copy of that game for it. Multiple fans know that Heroes has a bunch of flaws that can be fixed up if they remaster it for modern consoles and PC. (especially the slippery tube shaped special stages to get the Chaos Emeralds and how to enter those stages.) I'll be pre-ordering SXSG from Microsoft and I'm going for a physical copy of the Switch version because of that version's bonus features and the recently revealed reversable cover art that it will have. I hope 🤞 that like many previous other Sonic games that they will make the Digital Deluxe bonus features for it available to be perchased seperately afterwards.

Great video, but there were quite a few major Sonic games you missed. Sonic 4: Episode II and Mario & Sonic 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games are some very big ones. Others include DS/3DS versions of Sonic Colors, Generations, and Lost World (much more difficult than its Wii U counterpart).

Video was really good, the only things you missed was sonic erazor, and sonic extreme on the cancelled sonic games, sonic erazor is yet another puzzle game on the genesis which was cancelled, and sonic extreme was a skateboarding game which was cancelled and Sega instead made sonic riders, besides that you covered everything

For me Knuckles Chaotix and Tails Skypatrol are both great games. They have very unqie mechanics so it takes some time to understand them but once you do they are great games.
The more I think about it with these 8-bit versions, it probably took a lot to get right with Sonic's mechanics since the whole concept was about speed and developed for the Genesis/Megadrive first, Master system/Game Gear second. I love the difference in level design but it's the mechanics that ruin it, maybe due to that limitation. All that being said, Sonic Triple Trouble is one of my favorite Sonic games, so to have a 16-bit fan-made version of it now, is so amazing.

I'm a old guy that played the 2d sonics.
I saw the adventures in dreamcast, and as much it looks cool, the game play seems so automatic. For me, the 3d sonics all feels that automatic, run. Maybe I just don't play enough, there's alot of them i don't even tried.
But i liked the sonic heroes. I can't understand why the community rage so much on that game.
(I had sonic R in saturn, the only saturn on my small town. No internet... Tails doll scared me haha, really, as a kid, I was not expecting that. I got metal sonic, and supose how to get more secret characters, I was expecting more metal things. And than, that creppy was flying. hahaha I will never be tired of remind and share that history, I wish I could share the real sense XD )
