I feel like I'm the only one who appreciates how you start with the original 8 starting characters from Super Smash Bros for N64 and you unlock all the others along the way. The first three games really resonated with me largely in part due to all the unlockables. It's unfortunate that the unlocking criteria this time is as simple as just playing for 10 minutes and not unique like in previous games, but I guess that would probably be asking for too much

Yeah, it's a shame. I'm glad I beat the game without getting spoiled, but the awesome Dark World twist and playing as Master Hand twist are best left as a surprise.

Final Smash: Akechi does a dash, and the all-out attack animation plays, but instead of Joker and some of the Phantom Thieves, it's just Akechi and Pancakes. Or it could just replace Joker with Akechi.

If you look closely, the Earthbound/Mother kids' specials have the battle effects of how they actually are. (PK Flash and Freeze when they explode, Fire has the diamond shapes Magnet has the purple lines like in Mother 3, even Starstorm actually has the stars)
Sadly PK Thunder or Ness' basic PSI attacks didn't get the same treatment.
