As a Brazilian, the most mind-blowing part of this game is the fact that this is the FIRST Nintendo game to ever have a Brazilian localization, and it makes me SOOO HAPPY! I'm definitely picking this game up once I get my Switch

I played Super Mario Party like 2 times total, but I always though this game sucks even the first time I played it. In Mario Party DS, a game of 10 turns is around 20-30 minutes. But in Super, one game of 10 turns is over 1 hour long OH MY GOD! Seeing that Superstar included fast foward through cutscenes is enough to make me feel like this game is finaly going to be good.

@@tanso4564 Mario Party 5 and 8 are much slower than Super was and I still prefer those two over it, that wasn't really the issue with it =b It was the horrible economy and the maps being too small in standard mode. It feels like they planned to make it like Star Rush and rushed out a classic mode to satisfy people, honostly I think it would have been a better game if it only played like Star Rush instead of just with 2v2s.
@@scarffoxandfriends9401 For me, Super always felt like a demo instead of a real Mario Party. It did introduced online for the first time, I’ll give it that, but it didn’t even work most of the time, so good luck finding someone who wants to play with you. I asked my best friend if he wanted to play with me and he said no and honestly, I don’t blame him.
@@tanso4564 I played it just a month ago with my Siblings, we didn't have any of the other MP at the time and it was enjoyable enough for us, but now that Superstars is out we'd probably won't touch it ever again. Which is a shame because I like the allies, though I didn't like how often the game chose one of the two Ally stars.
I can't wait to get this game soon! It's basically what Top 100 should've been.

Something nice is that for the minigames that put the players in their own quadrants of the screen, you can zoom in on your own quadrant by double tapping the home button and pressing it once again once it's on your quadrant so you can focus more on what's happening in your quadrant than get distracted by everyone else (not recommended for local play on the same console)
The zoom feature on the Switch is fun to play with. Never would have thought to use it like that though.

After almost 2 decades Nintendo as finally give us a normal mario party that actully played similar to the n64 entrys

Nope, I also grew up with that game and it's a shame that there are only 2 Mario Party 8 minigames. And Paint Misbehavin' and Winner or Dinner are not the best minigames from that game.

Yeah, I mean I could do without all the motion control minigames, but outside of that there definitely are some really good minigames from those games. 9 and 10 specifically sucked, not because of the minigames, but because of the board aspect of the game.

@@Eucalyptus_Yeehan I mentioned that because they are bad games, and that unfortunately leads to people thinking that everything about the game is bad. So my point is that the minigames are good, and the reason people think they are bad is because of the boards.
10 had a stellar minigame selection and 9 also had pretty good ones, I couldn't disagree more with his comment.
Honestly I haven’t had this much fun with a Mario party game since 8. That’s saying something about the quality of the installments between the two.
exactly, the actual mario party game isnt even in the 3ds one its just that crap toad version and super mario party was just filled with motion control games which get boring.
@@missawsum4918 right. Super Mario party felt like a cheap demo of what was supposed to be something good. Didn’t like the car/mini star mechanic in any games that had it outside of 10s bowser mode- you can’t mess with your friends when you’re all stuck in the car but bowser mode made sense since you’re working as a team against bowser player.

They might “not be as good” as the the “originals” but this is a celebration of all the Mario Parties. Plus most of the minigames from 8-10 were pretty good and balanced

@@mariajimenafigueroa233 "Overrated" isn't a term to be used on everything that is the best. Several people still seem to think the Gamecube ones were good, so calling the N64 ones overrated is an exaggeration. They're slightly underrated if anything, just due to their age.

Like I’ve played the first two parties, and a few of the GameCube ones and 8-10 so I understand the difference between what’s good and not. But 8-10 do still need respect, because even if you don’t like the base game, the mini games are pretty damn solid in all 3
From a person who has the original trilogy at the highest, Mario Party Superstars its the best Mario Party! The online alone makes it better than the rest and being able to play some of the best minigames in all the franchise is just epic!
Can't wait to try this game later it looks really fun

I love the mini game selection for this game. Sure, a few more Mario Party 8 mini games would have been nice (it only got 2, I personally think it should have gotten more like 6 or 7), but it is really good.

I played an online game once, and I had about 60 coins, but I remember having to leave early. So what I did was paid all of my coins to the thwomp and then I disconnected.

1:45 imo, one of the best things compared to Super Mario Party is that in SMP, if one player disconnects, the entire game for everyone is terminated. In MPS, they're replaced with a CPU and can even rejoin the game.
Honestly, this game is pretty good. It's no where near the best but it definitely has it's moments. I did enjoy the CPU speed thing.

Of all the Mario Party games I've played, this is probably my favorite, I absolutely love the mini game selection and how this game plays. The boards are nice and have a decent amount of strategy to them (except for Yoshi's Fruit Paradise, that one's a little too dull for me), but I would like more and more variety in them as well. I also wish that there were more characters, even if these are the staple Mario Party cast, but I guess they didn't want situations where a Shy Guy is playing in Shy Guy Says or a Goomba is capturing fellow Goombas in Trap-Ease Artist. I also wish that they featured some boards and games from DS and Super, but it's understandable why they didn't do that, since most of those games were stylus/Joy-Con controlled. Still, games like Camera Shy, Fast-food Frenzy, Gridiron Gauntlet, Fuzzy Flight School (with it being controlled with stick controls instead), Croozin For a Broozin, Don't Wake Wiggler, Dash and Dine, Tow The Line, Off The Chain, Sign Steal Deliver, and Bopping Spree being great games missing from this collection
I wonder if anyone’s said this but as a huge film nerd I love how flawless having all three versions on screen at the same time (Nathaniel Bandy, Bathaniel Nandy, and Nathaniel Nandy) it really feels like they’re not just the same guy three times and I appreciate it

Bought this game last night, played it with my wife, I was immediately brought back to my childhood playing this game, remembering the games, the rules, the items, everything, so much fun, and the fact I can use a gamecube controller with it is amazing

What helped this selection is that they didn't have generally mini game types they wanted to fill out. For example, Top 100 had a mashing category where they chose the best mashing game from as many games as possible, vs here where they limit them to the amount of mashing games in a normal Mario Party. Same goes with Bowser Mini games and then this is just missing any of the Motion Control games and DK games.
It feels amazing to have Mario party back to its roots don’t get me wrong I liked super Mario party but this game is 10x better

Only thing I disagree with is your comment on MP8/9/10 minigames. Those have the best minigames in the series and no one will change my mind. I respect your opinions Nathaniel but you need to stop with your bias towards N64 and Gamecube games. So many of MP1’s minigames are biased and unfair, half of MP2 is from MP1, MP4 only has 60 and not a fan of the microphone in 7 but I’m so happy we got a great Mario Party game again. SMP was a step in the right direction but this is true greatness.
Mario party always has some great mini games, it's the board mechanics that lack in games past the GameCube.

You should also do How Mario Party 1, 2, 3, 4, E, 5, Advance, 6, 7, 8, DS, 9, Island Tour, 10, Star Rush, The Top 100, and Super are Mind Blowing next!
A new, original Mario Party game in this style will hopefully come next.

I look forward to playing this game mostly because of the online service because that was definitely something desperately needed in Mario party top 100 and other Mario party games that were on handhelds, but I'm also very excited because they actually have some boards you can play on instead of that one really lame one from top 100
