for some reason, his queen's effect is more useful is non-Pendulum archetype, since she can easily recycle her Spellcaster material for link-4 play, but not in their own deck lol

May be a basic answer but I always loved the simplicity of Breaker the Magical Warrior's use of a spell counter from the earlier days of Yu-Gi-Oh!. For the time it came out, it was a simple but nice little effect on top of pretty much being 1900 Attack before using the counter itself. Always loved the card design too. Some of those card designs for some of the spellcasters just looked so awesome to me as a kid. Still does!

Small correction for the Gateway of the Six section. The removal of Bushido Counters isn’t necessarily from the card itself, but from any cards with Bushido counters you have on your side of the field.
That's one strength I feel he forgot about the card. If you happen to have cards like Temple of the Six, Shien's Dojo or Six Samurai United on the field you can loop samurai while going plus on the Bushido counters then use the first effect of the Gateway to give one of them infinite attack and win.
Technically you can't use dice values for counters at official events. The current rules require you to place one physical object per counter (I guess it's a measure to prevent cheating or irreversibly damaging the game state).
Endymion can return any of your cards with a spellcounter for the negate, not just monsters. He also combos well with Selene since you can have an Endymion return itself to the hand for the negate (if he has a counter) and then use Selene's quick effect to put him right back down which also resets his ability to negate.
Selene is honestly MVP of Endymion, she can also reset jackals negate with help of master magician, as well as bounce a card if you summon reflection on opponents turn, ive even used her to summon magistis to quick effect use 3 more counters to summon another jackal or master from the deck.
What’s your deck list like? I wanna see other variations on more pure versions of kaijus so I can make mine better. Currently I run 10 kaijus in the main with triple slumber and kyoutou with a terraforming. (Used to run files but thinking of putting it back in) I also run 8 dangers, a small ancient warriors package and a bunch of go second cards
Predaplant counters are probably one of the better counters, it allows you to: Mess the lv for synchro and xyz, take control of that monster, tribute it, use it as fusion material, summon other monsters and negate their effects, dragostapelia is good but in their archetype is better
Honestly I'm surprised no cubic counters appeared, as I would say those are the best counters from a purely just the counter application though I can see the predaplant one for xyz/synchro screwing. But based on the counters alone, the cubic one being a continuous unremovable monster negate would have made me assume it could at least be mentioned.

Just for what it did at the time, Breaker the Magical Warrior was one of the best cards at its time. While 1600atk on a level 4 wasn't that good, it gained a spell counter (max 1) on summon which boosted it up to 1900, which allowed it to beat over La Jinn and contest Gemini Elf. If it didn't need to contest them or you had a way of refueling its spell counter, you could use its second effect to spend a spell counter on itself to pop a back row. With most of the spell/trap removal being banned or limited at the time, Breaker became a must have. It's too bad that it was such a rare card.
I'm surprised you didn't mention breaker. The magical warrior. The one that places a spell Counter when summoned, gains 300 attack so 1600-1900. You can detach a counter to destory a card or it is spell or trap. I heard that card was game changing back in the day and probably still a solid card for a level 4 monster and get rid of opponent's cards.
Yeah back in the day, now it's irrelevant. There are way better cards, to use spell counters for. This is why Mighty Master of Magic, is on the list. Not only it can negate, the spell/trap when it hits the field, best of all, if it have a spell counter on it, it cannot be targeted by your opponents card effects/cannot be destroyed by them either. Maybe old school staples, that Breaker the Magical Warrior is good, but as for now, it's outplayed by a lot of cards that use spell counters.

@@cuauhtemocgonzales2530 ah okay, I just thought for versitility in the ability more than specific FTK because I assume the ability would be more versitale and used in not just competitive but in a lot of casual decks because even though it is old, I used to use it all the time and still do in some decks. I became more cyber dragons so I don't use it anymore as I like cyber dragon as a card and the deck style the deck uses as I play against my friends and we aren't competitive and just play for fun.
As a Kaiju player I am glad to see that Gameciel finally gets remembered for its effect. Seriously, you wouldn't believe the amount of times people forget this detail only to face what is basically a Herald of Ultimateness as long as there are counters on the board.
Honestly Reptilianne/Ogdo/Alien Grass works surprisingly well in Master Duel. Definitely not a top tier contender, but it can play through a good few modern negate boards just via sheer attrition. The three archetypes actually have a reasonable amount of synergy, with the Reptilianne cards extending the Ogdo starters and Alien cards managing to let you access Zer'oll lock as well as abusing Stealthbuster's dual GY effects (one when sent, one after sitting for a turn) to help with certain boards. I mean, it's a gimmick that benefits massively from your opponent's lack of MU knowledge, but it has a surprising amount of combo flexibility and is one of the few decent "off-meta" decks that doesn't end on a generic HalqDon Verte DPE + Baronne board. (Though you can make Baronne very easily with Keurse the Ogdoadic Light and Reptilianne Lamia)

Blackwing Full Armor Master unaffected by card effects and one of the easiest way to steal opponents boss monster. It is always funny when opponent try to negate the stealing of their monsters.
Shout out to cubics with their cubic counters that pretty much nullify every monster in the game if you can place them. Certain cubic cards only say 'place counters on opponents monsters', meaning there's not a single monster in the game that not only can't avoid getting the counter placed on them, but also aren't immune to the effect of the actual counter because the effect comes from the counter and not the card, which nullifies their effects and prevents them from attacking. The deck itself is a fun meme and has some surprise tactics and interactions but isn't super good overall.
Endymion is one of my three favorite decks to play and the fact 4 cards i run in a 60 card deck list I use got a place on this list makes me happy (In my opinion Endymion is a better spellcaster deck then dark magician)
Once my opponent did Kaiju me with Gamaseal but he was playing a Kaiju deck and he ha the field up so I was able to use the negation effect using the Kaiju counters on the field spell which did help a lot at disrupting his plays and winning the game He gave me a negation for the price of a beater What a legend
I mean smoke signal is also used because non once per turn effect and six samurai United to extend combo also shien dojo as well castle is seen rare plays but still do
Dragostepellia is also an immediate answer to Splight when it comes out, especially in branded. End easily on dragoon and Albion amongst other things, you can super poly Splight blue (a main starter) with Albion into dragostepellia to have his effect as well as the dragoon for a negate of the “Splight starter”. He will be a mainstay in the new format I’m sure.
Spoiler alert - Tearalament would eat up all Branded decks as part of itself then after the Ishizu cards come out no one would give a flying f--k about Albion or Despia
I got gateway as #1 all day. It is broken. Especially with the link monster. It's such an easy loop to pull off. 4 counters is nothing. Especially if you open dojo. Literally every summon is another summon. Very shocked you had it so low on the list.

Breaker The Magical Warrior should be on the list at least for an honorary mention. I believe it's the most widely used and long-lasting card to ever utilize Spellcounters while actually using the effect it was designed for. Royal Library was certainly more powerful when the mentioned FTKs and OTKs were viable, but it wasn't an almost instant inclusion for the close to 10 years Breaker was in most meta decks. And let's not forget Tempest Magician for being OP for a couple of years as well.
Six Sams don't need any external help to FTK and OTK, and aren't fragile AT ALL. Those guys have multiple ways to play through handtraps including Nibiru. Going against them, it's basically you open Droll or Shifter, or you loose; never in between. Also shout-out to Crystal Tree that basically doubles your resources and allows some VERY insane plays.
Top Ten cards that benefit of having Skill drain up! It goes from Beast King Barbaros becoming an enormous beat stick to Subterror Final Battle bypassing the effect negation!
As someone who played a pure Kaiju deck for trolls on MD, the easiest way to setup a Gameciel with pretty much infinite negates was Kyoutou Waterfront (or a way to get to it), the Kaiju Files, and any 2 Kaijus (or again a way to get to them). Really inconsistent, but almost always an instant win, because the actual effects on the Kaijus are *insane.* The thing you have to know though is that you can not activate any effects if you give your opp Gameciel with Waterfront up, or you give a Kaiju without a Quick Effect to them.
Library can still be a pain. Went against a guy actually named Exodia in Master duel the other day that used it, bamboo sword, magical mallet and some recyclers to OTK with Exodia. And the way he ran it, a negate or two wouldn't have done anything. He even ran double summon to get 2 out and primed them at the same time.
I generally use Arcanite Magician in a Pendulum Magician Deck. Combined with Magical Citadel of Endymion and Selene means that I can effectively nuke the enemy field, and even if he gets destroyed, I can bring him back with Selene. If he gets negated, I just Pendulum summon Timebreaker to Synchro Nirvana High Paladin and then bring him back.
I find it funny the Kaiju allows you to summon it to the other side, but also allows the controller to use tokens from either side of the board. Well, that certainly kills versatility, you're either using it to get rid of opponent's monsters or trying to negate stuff. You can't build your deck to do either depending on the boardstate since doing so would just mean trying to tribute your opponent's monsters would mean he can actually use its effect.
As someone who plays a pure Kaiju deck, I quickly saw appeal in Gameciel, for 2 counters (which is easy for a kaiju deck) you just get to negate and banish your opponent's monsters, and if you have enough counters, you may be able to push through omni-negates, as it's not once per turn, and its activation is just literally any effect that's not Gameciel
I suggested this before, but Top 10 Monsters who never actually hit the field. Basically monsters with the best discard or GY effects, but who almost always are used just for those effects and are only summoned as last resorts, if ever. So all the handtraps are obvious, but also Extra Deck monsters like N'tss, or things like Destiny Hero Celestial.
I have some list suggestions of you don't mind: Best Story cards part 2 Top 10 cards that show actual cards Top 10 cards that aren't in Master Duel Top 10 stall cards. Top 10 generic pendulum cards. Top 10 parody cards. (Like how Weed Out parodies Return from the Different Dimension.) Top 10 special conditions in the games. More Rescue Rabbit, please.

I’ve been playing Kaijus since they came out and have never stopped, and boy, people still don’t know what Gameciel does. That thing makes people scoop so easily, just 2 days ago at my locals I negated 5 things in one turn with it, so friggin good. People sometimes think kyoutou does the negation and they read that. The way it goes is: -opponent plays something without knowing what gameciel does -I negate it -opponent reads kyoutou, then they look at gameciel and they realize it negates -Opponent plays another thing -I negate it -opponent proceeds to say “it’s not once per turn???” And then later I negate like 2 things in one chain and they are baffled it isn’t once per chain either. The biggest I’ve gone is negating 3 things in one chain.
Need to read Gateway a bit closer It removes Bushido counters from your side of the field, not just itself. That means: Temple of The Six, a field spell Shien's Dojo Six Samurai United Shien's Daredevil Battle Shogun Of The Six Samurai Can all be used
I would say that Royal Magical Library is probably the one non - banned card that is responsible for the most other cards being on the ban list. Butterfly dagger - Elma just doesn't belong there in a world where Library doesn't exist. This kind of thing is legitimately why I love Yugioh.
I know it's not as important as some of the other cards, but I really would have liked to see Blackwing Full Armor Master. Its Wedge Counters are kinda really good, especially since its immune to everything. Especially since you can summon it rather easily with just 1 Simoon plus 1 other Blackwing to banish. Simoon add to hand Auster, summon Auster make Full Armor Master. Or alternatively Normal Summon Auster, Special Summon Harmattan (which can be searched with Black Whirlwind if you have it in your Hand), then target Auster to increase its Level by Auster's Level to make it Level 6, and then make Full Armor Master. Both of these methods are under 5 summons so no Nibing the Materials and Full Armor Master can't be Nibbed cause he's immune to like everything. But maybe that's just the Blackwing Supremacist in me talking.
I know it's not meta, but I do love Cubic Wave. It's main use is to double the attack of Crimson Nova for the OTK, but it does have a GY effect to place cubic counters (AKA Monster deactivators) by banishing itself and cubic monsters from the GY. So, if Nova is destroyed by a S/T (barely any monster can touch it) you can use it to try and slow down the opponent while you recover.
Seriously, Nova is immune to any monster with 3k or less original attack. Effect Veiler? Nothing. Phoenix Enforcer? Nothing. Red-Eyes Dragoon? Nothing. Borreload Savage? Nothing. Borrelsword? Nothing. Baronne de Fleour? Nothing. Dragonmaid House? Nothing. Invoked Mechaba? Nothing. AA-Zeus? Nothing. Any Number F0? Nothing. Accescode? Nothing. He even survives Nibiru's tributing.

I was waiting for full armour master to make an appearance in the lower spots of this list. Can steal one monster your opponent controls and if it's worth it destroy all monsters with counters on them in the end phase. Not the best effect there is but on a 3k atk/def monster who is immune to all cards effects and with auster who can place a counter on every monster your opponent controls during your turn i think it deserved a spot
How good are Spell Counters in general? I always liked the concept, but I don't like very many of the cards that use spell counters. It feels quite resource heavy to make good use of them.

Swordsoul can, and does, end on Savage I should point out. Barrone has supplanted it in a lot of lists, but you still see Savages in the wild, and I run it in Swordsoul personally.
Shoutout to my boy Vijam the Cubic Seed. Battles, doesnt get destroyed, then turns the opponent monster into a brick bypassing target and effect immunity.

Equips could be interesting but the good cards one would just be pretty solid but outclassed cards, nothing crazy. The tributing one is just gonna have kaijus lava golem and sphere mode and slowly go down by attack with the kaijus
Honestly surprised that Code A Ancient Ruins wasn't the pick instead of Alien Shocktrooper M-Frame; M-Frame is a great card don't get me wrong, but Code A can extend so many plays with Aliens once you go into Cosmic Fortress Gol'gar due to it being a soft once per turn. Alien Ammonite goes immediately into Gol'gar, use Code A to remove 2 counters and revive the level 4 Alien, Gol'gar bounce it to hand to add a counter to anything, play Code A again, remove 2 to revive Ammonite, Synch into another Gol'gar and repeat 3 times until you have all 3 Synchros
Do a top 10 list of cards that you can run more Than 3 of. An example would be harpie ladies which you can only run 3 of but has archetype cards that can be treated as a harpy lady essentially letting you run 6 or more in the deck
Gateway got on the limited list because it can use Bushido counters from _anywhere._ If you have Temple of the Six or Shien's Dojo, you can use those counters too. Gateway should be bumped up a few spots because it can just use any Bushido Counters, just not your opponent's.

@@cuauhtemocgonzales2530 ah okay, I just thought for versitility in the ability more than specific FTK because I assume the ability would be more versitale and used in not just competitive but in a lot of casual decks because even though it is old, I used to use it all the time and still do in some decks. I became more cyber dragons so I don't use it anymore as I like cyber dragon as a card and the deck style the deck uses as I play against my friends and we aren't competitive and just play for fun.
I always found it funny that Gamaceil only sees play because it's the weakest Kaiju, yet, it has the strongest effect

As a Kaiju player I am glad to see that Gameciel finally gets remembered for its effect. Seriously, you wouldn't believe the amount of times people forget this detail only to face what is basically a Herald of Ultimateness as long as there are counters on the board.

Honestly Reptilianne/Ogdo/Alien Grass works surprisingly well in Master Duel. Definitely not a top tier contender, but it can play through a good few modern negate boards just via sheer attrition. The three archetypes actually have a reasonable amount of synergy, with the Reptilianne cards extending the Ogdo starters and Alien cards managing to let you access Zer'oll lock as well as abusing Stealthbuster's dual GY effects (one when sent, one after sitting for a turn) to help with certain boards.
I mean, it's a gimmick that benefits massively from your opponent's lack of MU knowledge, but it has a surprising amount of combo flexibility and is one of the few decent "off-meta" decks that doesn't end on a generic HalqDon Verte DPE + Baronne board. (Though you can make Baronne very easily with Keurse the Ogdoadic Light and Reptilianne Lamia)
I like that the Charmers have a little resurgence.

Blackwing Full Armor Master unaffected by card effects and one of the easiest way to steal opponents boss monster. It is always funny when opponent try to negate the stealing of their monsters.
Shout out to cubics with their cubic counters that pretty much nullify every monster in the game if you can place them. Certain cubic cards only say 'place counters on opponents monsters', meaning there's not a single monster in the game that not only can't avoid getting the counter placed on them, but also aren't immune to the effect of the actual counter because the effect comes from the counter and not the card, which nullifies their effects and prevents them from attacking. The deck itself is a fun meme and has some surprise tactics and interactions but isn't super good overall.
Endymion is one of my three favorite decks to play and the fact 4 cards i run in a 60 card deck list I use got a place on this list makes me happy
(In my opinion Endymion is a better spellcaster deck then dark magician)
Once my opponent did Kaiju me with Gamaseal but he was playing a Kaiju deck and he ha the field up so I was able to use the negation effect using the Kaiju counters on the field spell which did help a lot at disrupting his plays and winning the game
He gave me a negation for the price of a beater

Dragostepellia is also an immediate answer to Splight when it comes out, especially in branded. End easily on dragoon and Albion amongst other things, you can super poly Splight blue (a main starter) with Albion into dragostepellia to have his effect as well as the dragoon for a negate of the “Splight starter”. He will be a mainstay in the new format I’m sure.
Branded lists don't play dragoon, and tearalaments likely won't either, people are coping with that card too much

I got gateway as #1 all day. It is broken. Especially with the link monster. It's such an easy loop to pull off. 4 counters is nothing. Especially if you open dojo. Literally every summon is another summon. Very shocked you had it so low on the list.
Gateway of the Six can be unlimited today, the archetype sucks, and plays too much into hand traps.

You missed the chance to put Gateway of The Six, a central card of the Six Samurai archetype, as entry number six.
Breaker The Magical Warrior should be on the list at least for an honorary mention. I believe it's the most widely used and long-lasting card to ever utilize Spellcounters while actually using the effect it was designed for. Royal Library was certainly more powerful when the mentioned FTKs and OTKs were viable, but it wasn't an almost instant inclusion for the close to 10 years Breaker was in most meta decks.
And let's not forget Tempest Magician for being OP for a couple of years as well.
Next idea for a video if it haven't been done yet: Top 10 monsters that gains attack.
Six Sams don't need any external help to FTK and OTK, and aren't fragile AT ALL. Those guys have multiple ways to play through handtraps including Nibiru. Going against them, it's basically you open Droll or Shifter, or you loose; never in between.
Also shout-out to Crystal Tree that basically doubles your resources and allows some VERY insane plays.

As someone who played a pure Kaiju deck for trolls on MD, the easiest way to setup a Gameciel with pretty much infinite negates was Kyoutou Waterfront (or a way to get to it), the Kaiju Files, and any 2 Kaijus (or again a way to get to them). Really inconsistent, but almost always an instant win, because the actual effects on the Kaijus are *insane.* The thing you have to know though is that you can not activate any effects if you give your opp Gameciel with Waterfront up, or you give a Kaiju without a Quick Effect to them.

Library can still be a pain. Went against a guy actually named Exodia in Master duel the other day that used it, bamboo sword, magical mallet and some recyclers to OTK with Exodia. And the way he ran it, a negate or two wouldn't have done anything. He even ran double summon to get 2 out and primed them at the same time.
I generally use Arcanite Magician in a Pendulum Magician Deck. Combined with Magical Citadel of Endymion and Selene means that I can effectively nuke the enemy field, and even if he gets destroyed, I can bring him back with Selene. If he gets negated, I just Pendulum summon Timebreaker to Synchro Nirvana High Paladin and then bring him back.

I find it funny the Kaiju allows you to summon it to the other side, but also allows the controller to use tokens from either side of the board. Well, that certainly kills versatility, you're either using it to get rid of opponent's monsters or trying to negate stuff. You can't build your deck to do either depending on the boardstate since doing so would just mean trying to tribute your opponent's monsters would mean he can actually use its effect.
As someone who plays a pure Kaiju deck, I quickly saw appeal in Gameciel, for 2 counters (which is easy for a kaiju deck) you just get to negate and banish your opponent's monsters, and if you have enough counters, you may be able to push through omni-negates, as it's not once per turn, and its activation is just literally any effect that's not Gameciel

2:55 I've got no idea why I'm suddenly seeing multiple people talk about the Bishbaalkin combo I happen to also use, but It's still gratifying to see.
I suggested this before, but Top 10 Monsters who never actually hit the field. Basically monsters with the best discard or GY effects, but who almost always are used just for those effects and are only summoned as last resorts, if ever. So all the handtraps are obvious, but also Extra Deck monsters like N'tss, or things like Destiny Hero Celestial.

I’ve been playing Kaijus since they came out and have never stopped, and boy, people still don’t know what Gameciel does. That thing makes people scoop so easily, just 2 days ago at my locals I negated 5 things in one turn with it, so friggin good. People sometimes think kyoutou does the negation and they read that. The way it goes is:
-opponent plays something without knowing what gameciel does
-I negate it
-opponent reads kyoutou, then they look at gameciel and they realize it negates
-Opponent plays another thing
-I negate it
-opponent proceeds to say “it’s not once per turn???”
And then later I negate like 2 things in one chain and they are baffled it isn’t once per chain either. The biggest I’ve gone is negating 3 things in one chain.
Need to read Gateway a bit closer
It removes Bushido counters from your side of the field, not just itself.
That means:
Temple of The Six, a field spell
Shien's Dojo
Six Samurai United
Shien's Daredevil
Battle Shogun Of The Six Samurai

I would say that Royal Magical Library is probably the one non - banned card that is responsible for the most other cards being on the ban list. Butterfly dagger - Elma just doesn't belong there in a world where Library doesn't exist. This kind of thing is legitimately why I love Yugioh.
I know it's not as important as some of the other cards, but I really would have liked to see Blackwing Full Armor Master. Its Wedge Counters are kinda really good, especially since its immune to everything.
Especially since you can summon it rather easily with just 1 Simoon plus 1 other Blackwing to banish. Simoon add to hand Auster, summon Auster make Full Armor Master.
Or alternatively Normal Summon Auster, Special Summon Harmattan (which can be searched with Black Whirlwind if you have it in your Hand), then target Auster to increase its Level by Auster's Level to make it Level 6, and then make Full Armor Master.
Both of these methods are under 5 summons so no Nibing the Materials and Full Armor Master can't be Nibbed cause he's immune to like everything.
But maybe that's just the Blackwing Supremacist in me talking.

I know it's not meta, but I do love Cubic Wave.
It's main use is to double the attack of Crimson Nova for the OTK, but it does have a GY effect to place cubic counters (AKA Monster deactivators) by banishing itself and cubic monsters from the GY.
So, if Nova is destroyed by a S/T (barely any monster can touch it) you can use it to try and slow down the opponent while you recover.
Seriously, Nova is immune to any monster with 3k or less original attack.
Effect Veiler? Nothing.
Phoenix Enforcer? Nothing.
Red-Eyes Dragoon? Nothing.
Borreload Savage? Nothing.
Borrelsword? Nothing.
Baronne de Fleour? Nothing.
Dragonmaid House? Nothing.
Invoked Mechaba? Nothing.
AA-Zeus? Nothing.
Any Number F0? Nothing.
Accescode? Nothing.
He even survives Nibiru's tributing.

I was waiting for full armour master to make an appearance in the lower spots of this list. Can steal one monster your opponent controls and if it's worth it destroy all monsters with counters on them in the end phase. Not the best effect there is but on a 3k atk/def monster who is immune to all cards effects and with auster who can place a counter on every monster your opponent controls during your turn i think it deserved a spot

How good are Spell Counters in general? I always liked the concept, but I don't like very many of the cards that use spell counters. It feels quite resource heavy to make good use of them.

Swordsoul can, and does, end on Savage I should point out. Barrone has supplanted it in a lot of lists, but you still see Savages in the wild, and I run it in Swordsoul personally.

Equips could be interesting but the good cards one would just be pretty solid but outclassed cards, nothing crazy. The tributing one is just gonna have kaijus lava golem and sphere mode and slowly go down by attack with the kaijus

Honestly surprised that Code A Ancient Ruins wasn't the pick instead of Alien Shocktrooper M-Frame; M-Frame is a great card don't get me wrong, but Code A can extend so many plays with Aliens once you go into Cosmic Fortress Gol'gar due to it being a soft once per turn. Alien Ammonite goes immediately into Gol'gar, use Code A to remove 2 counters and revive the level 4 Alien, Gol'gar bounce it to hand to add a counter to anything, play Code A again, remove 2 to revive Ammonite, Synch into another Gol'gar and repeat 3 times until you have all 3 Synchros
Do a top 10 list of cards that you can run more Than 3 of. An example would be harpie ladies which you can only run 3 of but has archetype cards that can be treated as a harpy lady essentially letting you run 6 or more in the deck
Gateway got on the limited list because it can use Bushido counters from _anywhere._ If you have Temple of the Six or Shien's Dojo, you can use those counters too. Gateway should be bumped up a few spots because it can just use any Bushido Counters, just not your opponent's.
What's the best way to protect from counters?
If RML was released in modern times, it'd have HOPT on both it's counter placement and draw effects.
