Yeah, I'm on my third G603 now, both pfevious ones had a broken axel. Got warranty replacements both times. Finally ordered a metal scroll wheel on eBay, just replaced it today, seems to fix the issue! Either way it's an annoying design flaw
Did you do this in order for the wheel to spin with greater effort? (I have a problem on the G403 that the wheel turns too easily and the cutoffs are not felt well).

The axis of G603 scroll is very easy to be broken, I think they design it that way.

Tiny drop of oil instead of a piece of paper did the trick for me.
