Hi Amanda. Thanks for your comments. Glad you found this helpful. You probably saw I posted a few more videos on this project that you might find useful too.
OMG THANKS!!! You published this after I sent the project to my Panamanian carpenter (I live in Panama) who was having the devil of a time figuring out all these problems you’ve addressed in your video series! And as you found, the other videos made for difficult application. I’m hopeful the project just got easier for him!
Thanks so much for your kind words. Glad to hear you found these videos helpful. There were a lot of details to work out so I figured I could help make things a lot easier for anyone else doing a project like this. Hope your project is a success!
Hi. For a twin bed you could build a smaller frame. If you build it in 2 parts like I did, the part where you attach the hinges should be about 2” wider than the mattress. I designed the second part of the frame like a platform bed where the mattress overhangs the frame 3 to 4”. So you would subtract 3” from the left and right sides and the side of the mattress opposite the hinges. Hopefully that makes sense.
This video is to help answer questions about the dimensions for the Murphy Bed built using Vevor hinges. Check out the videos on building the frame and on 6 tips for using the Vevor hinges for more on how to build something like this.
Super helpful. Thanks! You have the most detailed instructions by far for this type of hardware.

Great! Glad to hear it.
For a twin size bed what would be the best dimension for the frame ?
