- The first BMW dealer I’ve been to and it was awesome. I still can’t believe the floors were made of bricks. Alex was a gracious host and he has a stacked setup. I think it’d be interesting if you asked the guys what type of work they predominantly do in the shop. I think it’d add some context as to why they have their box the way they do 👍👍👍

I'm just a at home hobby guy worth a focus on Mercedes. The lack of e torx tools is annoying
@@weldingjunkieof course I do. Every tech isn’t the same, there are some that will get by with the bare minimum of tools, then there’s some will buy anything and everything.

Love these. As a guy who almost went into the mechanic field who still works on his cars I love it. I’m now in financial shape to buy nice tools and love to see where techs spend money and where they say to not spend money.
I was a technician for two years at a BMW dealership and I never got ahead of buying tool. Tools are super expensive and overpriced sometimes.
Snap on absolutely makes ratcheting Etorx wrenches. Part numbers begin with XDRE. Nice setup.

Fun fact: In hungary we use the word tesa tape (tesa szalag) for masking tape. Tesa also make those.

Excellent walk through. You guys always kill me Tess tape is a brand like 3M out of Germany it’s not a tape it’s harness or cloth tape technically. It’s cool tho that’s how good it is people refer to it as Tesa tape because it’s so popular

I’d love to have my stuff that clean! Big trucks, especially what I do is just dirty work. My box is decently clean but my cart is incredibly dirty and hard to keep clean.
Yeah his box is pristine! In fact the entire shop was super clean.

OMG! love great tools just as much as the next person, but drinking the Snap-On/Matco coolaid is something else. Gear-Wrench ratchets FTW. I dont care how much money i have, I'll never own a some Snap on Tools.... Sure some are worth owning, but everyone? Snap-on pry bars? Mayhew Dominator bars, do the same thing, if not better for 4x less money.
I work on mostly bmw. The 4 Milwaukee tools he mentioned are the ones I use all day

Im working in russian bmw dealership rn, and we had 100 times worse toolboxes compared to this one. We don’t have our own special tools, they are collective. Like, we have only one brake piston compression tool for every technician. I envy you
Also my salary about 1300$ after taxes, i had 14-16 working days in one month. And about 160-180 payed/flagged hours of job done
I’d let this tech rebuild my life.

It's guys like this that when you do have to bring a vehicle in you hope and 🙏 that he gets the job on it. Great video, these great techs invest alot of money in there trade.
