- Tomas has such an extensive tool collection! So many tools for diagnostics. He definitely knows his way around drivability concerns and has just about every tool you could ever want when diagnosing is a concern. Not only is his tool collection fantastic, he also has a huge thirst for learning. Not only on the job, but manuals and study guides to read up on in his spare time. A recipe for the perfect technician! Tomas, thank you SO much for inviting me out all the way across the country to your shop. If you enjoyed the tour, give this video a Like!!

What I appreciate about you is you let all these technicians enthusiastically explain tools. You must have seen 100 times but you still are like "really? Wow" and don't ruin it for them.
I do my best to let techs talk 👍
They have put so many years worth of effort into their tools. It is imperative to sit back, and let them talk.
Thats what really stands this channel out from the rest! 🙌🙌
@@ToolBoxTourare the hexagon lights Govee as well?
Yep they are
I've know Tomas since the start of his career. Man has never spared any expense, always finds the best tools and methods to do any job.
Very cool. Guys like Tomas find success in anything they do. If he ever does open his own shop, I think he’ll be very successful.
I was gunna hate until I saw all the tools... dudes a real tech everything checks out.
This is probably the most useful reasonable tool set up. Everything gets used everything has a purpose
This guy knows his shit with the diag equipment. Most techs wouldn't even know where to start!
The craziest part of this is when he said he uses a propane bottle to drive cars in the shop with no fuel issues. This guy alone is better than most well established shops.
I agree! He knows his stuff
This guy is the real deal. Every technician should aspire to be this awesome !!!
Yess!
I appreciate a mechanic not being a brand snob, value in a tool based on real world experience/performance, and you providing the part numbers. Well done the both of you. Subbed!
Thank you very much!
I really like your style in the way you interact with all these guys. They all have a lot to be proud of and you allow them the time to express themselves and then you make it possible for all of us to gain their knowledge of tools. A person could shop the internet for days and still wouldn’t learn what we did here today in 35 minutes. Great stuff!
I do my best to let people talk. Without other people showing me their setup, I wouldn’t have a TH-cam channel. I owe it all to them 👍
Now this is a Master Technician. Whatever town this is is blessed to have him. A whole cart dedicated to diagnostics, he ain't no part swapper he's the real deal.
100%
the 3 layer organizer is a genius idea. wish someone made that in metal.
Metal would be awesome
This guy is an automtive tool beast! Most people have the standard stuff. I think this guy has stretched us all today with his tool & diagnostic knowledge. I will need to watch this more than once to see what I missed the first time.
His diag cart is unmatched!
Aww hell yes! Homie got some serious tools collected over the years! ive known Tomas since our days back at college in Ohio, hell its been 15+ years and well he hasnt changed i see. So wonderful to see some of us remained in the field professionally :)
Very cool! He’s on the right track!
This is one of the best setups so far! incredible mix of value and high end with tons of useful one off types. Great setup mate and thanks for giving us the tour.
Glad you liked it!
Pretty new-ish heavy diesel mechanic and I just discovered your channel the other day! It’s incredible. I used to do heavy haul/oversized loads for my company but recently asked if I can go back to a normal schedule turning wrenches.
Have a lot to learn about the stuff I used to move but I’m loving the process!
Awesome! Good luck to you!
His hutch setup is wild. The monitors and the lights are amazing. Great video as always. I had never heard of the cheap tools that work with Milwaukee batteries. I will be checking those out. I love my STS Milwaukee magnets.
I hadn’t seen the STS magnets until this one. Definitely on my wish list!
This dude could fix anything. That's what they use to call keepin it real.
That ray gun torch just made my day. Ordered 1 right away, lol.
Hah! I feel like companies would sell more tools if they made them look silly like that
2:37 this is the kinda stuff I watch your channel for never seen that but I've needed something to put a lot of stuff like that in layers and since I have that same box I'll be grabbing one of those ASAP, I think this channel put together what other tool box tours were missing, the wow factor from great camera shots, new tools, new organization types, part #s and where to get the cool stuff, and letting guys just talk about their stuff. Very well done I'm glad I subscribed a while back.
Glad you found some stuff on this one!
Killer set up. I saw a couple of things I didn’t have and ordered them. The tool box tours are working as intended. Thank you for letting me look at your box. Thanks for the hard work Dustin.
Thanks Mike! Yeah a few tools I haven’t seen before on this one.
I enjoy that you’re getting more popular now and techs are referencing things they’ve seen here! I’ve learned a ton from everyone here too 👍
More to come!
This setup is insane.. I am excited to get back into wrenching, just sucks when your new to the trade and get paid fast food money, while still needing to buy tools , I briefly worked in auto then got into electrical, leaving electrical to give auto another shot very excited.
Good luck. If it's not too late, try to find a more specialty career. I'm machinist/ engine builder, so I turn wrenches and mess with motors all day but don't have to deal with the typical mechanic bullshit. There's not many engine builders out there anymore, most people just want to work in a performance shop and install cams and heads, but when that shit tears up it takes us the engine builders to tear it down, clean, and fix it all
@@DownHillgamer I have a really good fleet tech job lined up, but nervous cause I gotta cheat a drug test, I know I know Im such a terrible human for consuming THC
@@thomasmk6 THC makes you feel good because it’s restricting blood flow to the brain. You’re slowly strangling yourself.
Bro if you want to make fat stacks and barely work then specialize in something and do it yourself. Start small and do the job right. The money will come.
@@markm0000 yep that is true that’s why I’m getting back into wrenching, auto tools I have no issue buying but some electrical tools hell no , just gonna hopefully get back into this shop learn and buy some quality tools they pay significantly more than any or lube tech place since it’s with the state…
@ToolBoxTour hands down the most informative, entertaining, and enjoyable tool channel in general. I really appreciate the part numbers and information you provide and how quickly you get the information through.
Wow, thanks! I appreciate that Marcus!
Congratulations, this is the tupe of professional we need at the time of professional job 🎉
Fantastic setup. I was amazed at the whole cart dedicated to diagnostics equipment. Good luck to this guy for what ever he does in the future.
You and me both!
Those Harbor freight boxes are unreal and the extension fold out was genius 👍😎👍
I'm hunting one now lol I saw that and was literally like " that is getting bought right now lol"
Right?? Such a good idea to put it in a toolbox
Wow just wow. Fantastic set up and explanations this guy knows what’s up. Very happy for him and jelly in the best way.
I thought the same! Very knowledgeable and tons of tools.
Damn after all those organized drawers in the us general cart, I wasn’t expecting that messy top drawer in the snap on epiq
I’m sure he’ll tackle it soon enough 👍. Having his go-to stuff organized is much more important imo. I appreciate you watching!
Amazing setup! Jealous of that diag cart. It's tough to watch videos of setups like this when you're trying to keep from getting into more tool debt. 😅
You and me both!
He has the best toolbox setup I've seen yet on you show he is a true technician.
Definitely a nice setup!
Aaayyyyyooooo the purple swaggg dope ass tool box set up!!! 😂 zombie ready
Zombie ready 🤣
That's a quick payoff. He wasn't about to let that interest run his pockets.. 😂.. great setup..
Yeah it adds up quick if you’re not on top of it.
Would like to hear from Pro Techs on Thomas in-depth knowledge diag equipment, very impressive to me...Real Deal!
He has a thirst for knowledge that’s forsure
Another awesome toolbox tours! Please keep going brother - I was so excited to see this vid pop up, couldn't wait to get home from work tonight to watch it! I love how Tomas kept referencing your channel. I know how he feels haha so many new tools in my collection because of your channel! Looking forward to the next one!
Haha! Tool addition is real! More to come
This is an awesome set up! Congratulations Tomas! 👏 great presentation!
Couldn’t agree more!
Thanks for sharing Tomas.
Fantastic idea to tune up your HarborFreight US General cart to match your Epic.
I did something very similar with my black 72” Masters series with black US Generals. And to be a total Snap on sob with a little help from my heat gun and some replacement chrome Snap on badges I saved a couple of grand. Lol 😝
Awesome🤘
Nice set up! I like the guys passion.
I say it every week! If I had more than a 36x24 cart full of tools I would love to be in your channel. One day
Deal!
@@ToolBoxTour I already have a damn good setup. I have the KRSC242lbp7 I think the number is. With a bunch of stuff loaded. But yeah I’ll be emailing you in the near future once my setup is complete! I’m a big fan of
I look forward to it!
Really cool channel. Tomas shared this with me this morning. It was very nice to see some of my tools shown here.
Cool tools you have there. Thanks for stopping by
This is my favourite video so far. Great guy and an amazing setup.
Already trying to hunt down a few things in the UK that I've seen here.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely love, love, love this setup! Great tour! 👍
It was amazing forsure!
Wow! Awesome set up! My favorite so far
Glad you like it!
This is the best setup by far I’ve seen!
It was fantastic!
phenomenal tool collection, but the snap on umbrella takes the cake😂
Right? Imagine pulling that thing out when it starts to rain. You’d get so many compliments!
That moster swivel extension set that was discontinued is still available under the Steelman name. Same set, different brand. It's the Steelman Pro Impact Swivel Socket Set 97886. The astro 78354 set you mentioned is an amazing set as well. I actually have had that set for a couple of months now, and it's pretty useful for certain applications. The astro 78354 10-Piece torque saver set is also sold by matco and branded under the matco name. It is the EXACT SAME 10mm-19mm set that matco splits into 2 sets for a total of $615. Yes, it is the same exact set branded under the natco adv name, and it is split into 2 sets. Both sets from matco retail for around $615 before sales tax. The astro set is around $120 and comes with a lifetime warranty!!
Steelman!! That’s awesome! I appreciate all the info Victor!
Badass set up. Best organized box ive seen
One of the best!
Sweet setup 👌
Wooow this is an awesome set up. Tomas is such a likeable guy!!!
I agree on both parts 👍
probably my fav video on this channel because this guy seems more towards the diag and fixing problems rather that some other tool truck slaves with humongous snap on arsenal that try to justify their lifelong bad financial decision making,
The videos just keep getting better and better I’m not much of a purple guy but that setup has got me thinking about it love the channel thanks for sharing
I really appreciate the feedback! Thanks for watching
Amazing set-up!
I think so too!
Wow...i Love his setup!!
Same! Especially the diag cart!
@@ToolBoxTour yaahhh...looks like he cud transplant a head to a body..!!
Amazing set up!
Glad you think so! He’s put a lot of work into it.
Thanks for the shout out🎉😊😊
Any time! Thanks for making cool stuff 🤘
This set up is so clean!!!
I think so too! And the color combo 😮💨
@@ToolBoxTour definitely my favorite tour so far 👍🏾👍🏾
Very nice set up.
I think so too!
This guy is knowledgeable very cool tools
Tons of cool tools! His diag cart was awesome!
Damnnnnn, that’s a nice setup 🔥
🔥 yes!!
Wow that is nice‼️
Loving the black and purple
Same!!!
Dam I was like this guy has to much electric tools till I saw that hot stable tool ! Not many techs or shops have that on hand ! That’s what’s up
12:30.. See?!.. straight up, not trying to sway your decision one way or the other..Just factually answers the question..👍
17:05.. it's called an F-style clamp or welding f-clamp
F-style. Good to know!
Great video. All he needs now is the new US General tool box in PURPLE with black trim (reverse of the rest).
😮💨 that would be amazing
Thank you Sir.
You are most welcome
sweet setup
I agree! Thanks for watching!
sweet setup man
Couldn’t agree more. Thanks for watching
This guy is the man
🤘
RAY GUN SPOTTED
😅
I used the same hammer for subaru wheel bearings when i was a subie dealer tech
It’s funny. The hammer looks so small on camera. Sucker was huge
That’s the same colors as the 68” Epiq I just ordered.
Nice!!!
I’m buy that air blower been wait for Milwaukee to come out with one for years
Yeah I’m surprised Milwaukee hasn’t come out with a blower or glue gun. I use that glue gun all the time
Goddam that box is beautiful purple is my favorite color
When this guy goes to open his own shop let me know. I'd work with him.
Very nice brother
Thanks for watching Floyd!
I am 3 years into working at a diesel shop, just made it to lead tech and I am very jealous of that diag cart. I wish my shop allowed personal carts so I could get something even half as nice as that one.
> 3 years.
> lead tech.
My brother in Christ.
@@markm0000 yes sir, worked hard and learned fast. Also 3rd shift makes you good at figuring things out on your own and making creative solutions.
3 years?? That’s amazing. Curious why your shop doesn’t allow personal carts tho 🤔
@@ToolBoxTour we get company supplied 55” snap on boxes. Shop is to small for all 18 people to have carts or larger boxes. Its a 7 door shop where 3 are pass through and one single tractor bay. (Edit. We are also considered a “pm” shop but do a lot of diag as well. Company wants the shop to look “uniform.”)
Ohhh that makes sense. Kind of a bitter sweet situation. Best of luck to you!
So nice. I miss VA. Did you go to Harper’s Ferry?
I had a very tight itinerary so I didn’t get to visit anything. Literally 6hrs total in my hotel overnight, then did 2 box tours, then back on the plane.
Snap on lock fit perfectly in the us general 34" master tech full bank cart thinking about getting one thanks
Good to know!
@@ToolBoxTour did it fit perfectly in his us general full bank master tech cart
those radiator hose pliers are sweet
Yeah the ratcheting mechanism is really nice
I have the Mac HCP226 which is similar in clamping design but it’s kinda bulky sometimes. I’ll have to get those pliers.
Probably one of the tour box tour in a while.
I think you forgot a word there. But yes! I agree!
On the east coast and you didnt think to give me a ring!! 😮
Oh man I wish I had more free time on my trip. Barely had time to do a couple tours then rush back to the airport. I’ll be back 😅
@@ToolBoxTour well all be watching! And waiting👀👋🙌😁 safe travels man!!
Very nice setup. He does need lockers or a cabinet or two. Then he could gain drawer storage.
Yeah I’m sure he’ll pick up a locker soon enough. His box is black so an ICON locker would match pretty nice I bet.
@@ToolBoxTour I agree completely, the Icon would be fine and he could two for the price of one and invest that into opening his own shop.
Yeah I think since they’re black, they would blend in nice. Plus he could wrap those with purple as well.
Can you find somebody at a Porsche store and do a tool box tour, there really aren’t any on YT yet. Would be cool, your videos cost me every time I watch.
I’ll see what I can find 👍
I'm actually in Virginia this weekend as well!
Sweet!! It was nice when I was there
did some hiking in Shenandoah, really nice!
I wish I had an opportunity to explore a little. I had zero free time. Only there to do a couple tours and rush back to the airport 😭
What is the best OBD2 reader brand for a DIYer? In the winter sometimes my temp gauge on my 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan collapses and at the same time the check engine light comes on. When i restart the engine the temp gauge works normal again but the light stays on. I don't want to go to my shop every time to get the code erased but want to do it myself. Any advise which brand and model to buy and on Amazon or better get it in a big box store?
Sounds like an intermittent temp sensor failure. Amazon sells an Autel code reader that I feel would be great for DIY. Autel AL319. It’s $30 on Amazon.

If your ever in Long Island NY i know a guy you absolutely need to feature on your channel
I’d love to see his setup! You can message me on instagram @toolboxtours or email me at toolboxtour@gmail.com
Great!
Thanks frank!
A man without a grill is crazy!!
I need to work on myself and get better at diag a lot of his diag tools I wouldn’t even know how to use.
Look up scanner danner here on TH-cam. You’ll learn so much so fast. He’s amazing 🤘
Grip Edge also makes Matco "Opti-Grip"
Ohh good to know 👍
Is that a precision tune that you’re at?
I have sleeves too work great
That's great!
Blue molded cases take up all your space having a snapon box is expensive if you wanna add another locker top cabinet side locker that's why I went with icon upgrades cheap compared to snapon
I think a black ICON locker would match his box pretty well 👍
Had to be filmed in the morning, with the way he’s holding that monster
Yeahhhh. Timing was the best but it worked out
Just FYI, I was somehow unsubscribed from you. Don’t know if others experienced the same. Great video as always.
Yt has been doing that for a lot of channels over the years.
Weird that happens sometimes. Honestly subscriber count doesn’t mean a whole lot to me. As long as you watch! 🤘thank you!
@TBT How far did you have to travel to meet him? Where in VA is he at ?
I’m based in Utah and flew to Baltimore. He’s in the Arlington area. 4.5 flight.
@@ToolBoxTour I used to work at the 5-sided puzzle palace (Pentagon) so I know the area. Thanks for traveling so far from home to make these. I for one enjoy them immensely.
Anyone know what size them tvs are? I need them they fill the spot nice
42"
This guy has the coolest shit LOL
5:40 what plier rack is that?
They look like regular CASOMAN pliers. Look on Amazon for CASOMAN pliers rack 👍
Brruhhh my wife’s gonna kill meee I always wanna buy stuff that I see in your videos 😂😂😂😂
😆
Make some side money and you’ll afford all the tools you ever wanted.
@@markm0000 no time for side jobs 😞 7 days a week as a HVAC/R technician in the Bay Area
@@TurboCarlos you’re literally slaving away in one of the richest cities and can’t buy all the tools you want. The saying goes. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink. I’m seeing now with tech jobs it’s like the boss is giving you just one bottle of water a day in the hot sun to carry a full truckload of fresh cold water barrels.
@@markm0000 I understand, but I love what I do and I know I will own my own Refrigeration company very soon plus I already have all the fancy tools for my work. Automotive tools are just for my oil changes at home and to work on my motorcycles.
Every mechanic is buying tool like there's no tomorrow, like they gone open a successful shop before Christmas. The shop or business may never materialize. Shop rent cost more than auto repair pays! The rent and bills and expenses and tools.
The only reason rhe old shops make money is because they bought the shop back when it was cheap, and they got you todo all the hard work for tool money.
If you still insist on opening a shop, don't buy much of anything and don't buy anyhing on credit. The cash is worth more than the entire Snap-on truck full of tools. Today, service information is also worth more than a tool truck.
Not too worried about this guy he seems pretty legit. I think he will be very successful.
This guy just needs a small sign on his front yard and he’ll be backlogged for months with just word of mouth. I don’t think he needs a big shop and all that headache.
