- Dylan is such a loyal employee, and these days, thats incredibly hard to find. I'm glad his company can see how valuable he is, and upgraded his truck to this beast! I haven't done many service truck tours, so I'm so glad Dylan invited me out. He has an amazing setup and everything looked like it was well used - and that's a good thing. Dylan, THANK YOU so much for taking the time out of your day to help me make this video. It was a blast!

I like the quick grab tool tray for when you have to walk a little bit to a machine. Thst is a smart idea. And 60% of jobs accomplished out of that is pretty legit
Yeah seriously!
the spring guards for hydraulic hoses make good wrench and pliers organizer
That tote tray is Snap On KTA8PV. Thanks for the tour Dylan!
Thanks for the part number!
Do more service truck tours please
More to come Cody!
I second this!
Thank you
You’ve really made this into a special channel and I enjoy your content. I work on farm equipment and some construction stuff and have a large freightliner crane body service truck if you’re ever in NC come by for a tour.
Thank you very much Tim!
Pressurized service body that's a pretty interesting feature I never knew existed. Makes sense especially if you're traveling a lot on dirt roads and construction sites
@@jrs4ex They work good for about 1 year.
Yeah I never heard of that before either!
Is this channel based out of Utah? I’ve been noticing a lot of Utah details in a few videos lately.
Can anyone help me find a job doing equipment. Central GA
Dude looks organized to me, nice rig, thanks for sharing!
I ageee!
Love watching the tours of shop boxes but super glad to see a mobile set up. Im also a mobile guy and love to see what everyone uses, their set up, etc. New ideas diffrent way of doing thing is always helpful.
Glad you liked it!
I worked for Ditch Witch in Amarillo Tx for 13 years . Dylan is a good man. He has a legit layout. Definitely a different breed of machinery to work on. Great video.
My favorite part of Saturday morning!!!
Haha thanks Dave!
That's a nice rig. Why would a young kid now want to learn this trade and go out into the great outdoor to earn a living?
DitchWitch Field Service Tech here from Northern VA. NICE TRUCK! We need more drill guys around here. Too much work, not enough good techs, especially guys that want to deal with the headache that is DitchWitch.
I work for a drill company and our in-house mechanic definitely prefers Vermeer over DitchWitch due to all of the computers and sensors. Still makes a good drill tho.
Something I didn’t hear him say that I hear in most of the other videos is “ I don’t use this” or “ I don’t use this as much as I thought I would “ and it looked to me like he uses the heck out of all his tools. Cool truck super nice guy. Another great tour~
Haha thats because we dont carry what what we dont need in a service truck.
@@jacob.s3619 that was my observation! lol
My shop has 55” box that are company supplied and I would say its very similar for me. I have only what I need because thats all I can store.
Road tech here, I have a USG 36” in my benz diesel van. When HF has their sales on their magnet strips for $1-$2 I grab a bunch. Bolt two together so you don’t need to drill into anything. One magnet facing the metal and the other facing the tool. The magnets are strong. It hold all my sockets from 1/4-3/4. Wish TH-cam would allow to use photos, I beat my tools and drive a lot and not once have I had a tool shift or fall off.
Thanks for the tip!
Nice setup. Quite surprised that the company does not have a dedicated tool setup that is supplied by the company.
Again, great video. I look forward to the next.
Good point. Obviously not quite the same but ive heard the local rental place wouldnt let the tool trucks come in the shop. No clue what they do for tools though.
Mostly because each tech has their own personal preferences on what tools they like to use,
Our company is union, all tools both shop and field are provided by the company.
Me and my dad both have run service trucks for our local CAT dealer. He worked on equipment and I did Power Generation. So love seeing how guys set up their trucks.
LOVE THE SERVICE TRUCK VIDEOS‼️
More to come!
Nice kit, looks very organized to me! 👍🏻👍🏻
I agree!
Dylan: Nice set up man, have a look at Veto pro pack tool bags and totes, I use one for my everyday carry kit (in the same way you do, to not be walking back to the truck all the time)
places for everything, easy to see at a glance if a tool is missing before you leave site and comfortable to carry! Not cheap but well made and hold up well to life on the road.
Great video as always!! He’s been around the block a few times and obviously knows his stuff.
Thanks!
13:31 try to contact him and tell him try the vim mag rails
Maybe he can Put his pliers in like a
Hose Protector Metal Spiral Wrap Armor Cover for Hoses
I have four of the snap on lights like those, twice I have found them in a returned truck that came back after servicing. I'm sure it was the same mechanic too I think I have his whole set😂
Nice video. Would love to keep seeing more service truck videos here. I get my rags from a buddy's screen printing shop mis print shirts. Lots of great stuff on this truck and not much extra junk. Great setup.
Top video
after re buying and losing 5 or 6 snap on puck lights i went on amazon and ordered 10 different cheap puck lights and then baught 4 more of the best one (so i would have 5). CARELITE is the name of them. honestly like them way more and they are only $37cad
Great setup, I'm curious about how the toolbox widget plier holders would work. I'm not a mobile mechanic anymore but definitely would try those if you want to keep the pliers more organized.
i love he said DEUTZ right i am from deutz, west germany ! =) (cologne) deutz fabric was just the district ...
@@tinyz81 In Germany the mechanics drive vans, correct?
@@nathankisner8332 jeah well contractors we realy dont have real service Unit style trucks maby in the mining industry but they will own their own fleet then.
@@nathankisner8332 farm / tractor Equipment mechanics will usualy have a big 8meter Sprinter van everything else is usualy Shops only
@@nathankisner8332 there is no way bench vices and such would be allowed to stick outside of the vehicle here in traffic :D so service trucks like in America are super cool to me 😄🤓🤠🧑🏭👨🔧
@@tinyz81 Very good. Thank you. I believe Americans will have to follow the way other countries provide service in the future. The cost of these big trucks is getting crazy.
That's a really solid tool box. I'm a mobile tech and i definitely need to upgrade from the ones my job buys. What brand is that
This was awesome. I’d love to do a tour of my service truck!
Good job both of you. Seems this young mam has a good head on his shoulders. That's his best tool.
He's a cool dude 😎. Keeping America alive.
This is one of the more interesting videos you have done. Try a couple more service trucks.
Use the spring wrapping from big hyd hoses for wrenches and pliers. Our service truck on farm uses them. Cheap and won’t slide around
Good tip!
tool box widget should help other service truck has that and he loves them
I operated a Ditch Master truck roadside ditch trecher in the late 90s
What a great guy, great setup!
Great setup, I bet it helps and would be great to work on only one brand .
Toolgrid would be perfect for the pliers!
That broken socket at 5:12.....
Is that a cracked socket at 05:12 ?
Super interesting tour. thanks
Glad you enjoyed it Mark!
You don't have to be organized it works for you this is the right way to go to work.
Exactly! Doing it everyday, you know exactly where all your tools are anyway. May not seem organized, but if you can grab the tool you need without hunting for it, you are organized in your head.
Amazing truck!!
I agree!
Ryobi and DeWalt make a pressure washer similar to what he has in the video.
As for his pliers and cutters drawer: Maybe try using the drawer dividers along with the plier racks. Use the dividers to group them by common sizes then organize using the racks. Set it so the dividers stop one direction of movement (front to back), and the racks stop the other (side to side). Probably not bumpy road proof, but maybe a slight improvement.
Something different , I like it
Glad you like it!
Love the used and abused tools just like mine after awhile of watching these guys polish and paint the numbers on their tools it’s like how much wrenching you guys doing all day long. Nice service truck would love to show my truck and tool box one day. Just say when you are coming to New York.
Awesome truck! Looks pretty darn organized.
That's awesome. I did heavy truck tires for about a year work out in the field doing that. We had rigs that had cranes to do tires that I could stand inside of. Hard work but I love swinging a sledge hammer every day
That's a sweet setup!! I wish we used setups like this in the forklift industry but I work out of a transit van
Nice! Lets see more service trucks!
Can anyone help me find a tool tray similar to this? I use one from menards but it’s plastic and I over load it all of the time
Look up Pit Pal trays. They have nice aluminum ones. That tray he had was a snap on tray meant to go in a deep drawer of one of their toolboxes.
Damn comment got deleted due to link but here is part number snap on KTA8PV $125
Search jobox tote tray
KTA8 is the snapon number for the one in this video.
Thanks for the part number Tim!
4:27 that is so true. i lost 4 snap on magnetic lights so I quit buying magnetic lights. i only have a headlamp and a streamlight wedge now
