    Thanks 1A Auto for the video! Unfortunately most people do not have a Lift in their garage. Or even a garage. So, for most of us lift-less folks, dropping the tank will be a bit more of a challenge. Taking out the spare tire will open up the field of view and work area. Just make sure to jack stand your car to add security/stability.

  • @michaelsecrest1388
    @michaelsecrest1388 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This may seem like a silly question, but you didn't mention whether it was necessary to completely drain the fuel tank before attempting this repair or if it is okay to leave a small amount of fuel; such that it won't spill out when disconnecting the two fuel lines? Thanks. I have a 2001 Tahoe. Love your videos!

  • @beemerxp9648

    Highly recommend draining fuel tank or running it to empty. Replaced the fuel pressure sensor on 2001 Chevy Suburban with about 12 gallons of gas in tank. Lowered back of tank to a tilt of about 30 degrees. Nothing came out until I popped the pressure sensor off and then there was some type of vacuum release and the gas came pouring out. Had to let it evaporate before continuing work. Lost as much gas as I spent on the pressure sensor. Lesson learned.
    Also, on my Suburban there was a metal cover with two 10mm nuts that had to come off before I could get to the pressure sensor. That cover seems to be missing in the video and adds a couple of steps to the process and makes access even more important.

    Did my 2006 chevy silverado 1500 2WD and no need to lower the tank was possible to do with one hand, some feeling and some struggling to pull it out with my fingers. But it saved me a 3 hours ($120/hour) job at the shop. But anyway thanks for the video that gave me the idea.

    Im about to do this on my 2004 Escalade esv. The old P0446 wont go away. Replaced vent solenoid, purge valve, fuel cap and canister. I hope the tank is not too heavy because im doing this all by myself with jack and jackstands. Low fuel light just came on so thats a plus. Wish me luck.

    Awesome video! I need help. I am getting a steady 45 psi on my car 2011 suburban 5.3. I feel like its dumping fuel because my fuel gauge goes down more than normal. I see everyone else mention 50 to 60 at the rails but i am using my expensive x431 scan tool to check everything. All of a sudden after 1 month of using e85 its been extremely bad. Fuel gauge drops fast. I cant find no wet fuel leaks by the engine compartment. My mpg normal at 15 to 18. Now feels like 6. I am also using a scan gauge to read the mpgs and its not bad hwy is 18mpg both dash and scan gaugeii. What the hell is there a small leak some where only when its on? I get no code errors.

    Using a screwdriver to get it out broke two pressure sensors for me.. Had to shove the stem down into the tank to clear the hole. I would suggest a different tool but not sure how to pull vertically with just an arm's space. This was for a 2001 silverado 1500 without dropping the tank, I am skinny enough to prop myself between the body and the frame, put a small light up just to see what I was going for.

      Same issue here, 2000 suburban. I would replace the fuel filter first and see if that helps. They recommend to change the fuel filter on these every 30k miles so the fuel pump doesnt go out. I just bought mine cash in excellent condition and want to avoid replacing the whole pump as that gets costly.
