Did you have the new Aluminum top one or the notch bottle , which was right after Sazerac bought ET BiB ? Either way the notch bottle , was bad , without a doubt .
A friend sent me a bottle of the blue cap and I love it. I would LOVE to have a bottle of the black cap to do a side-by-side, and because I love Brown-Forman products. Great video. Cheers!
I’ve have blue cap. Some batches must be bad. Worst nose on any bourbon I’ve ever had. I own 40 bottles give or take. It’s so strong like permanent marker. I will try another bottle but I’m not buying one anytime soon.
I have 4 bottles with the black cap and 4 bottles with the blue cap. Very difficult for me to tell the difference between the 2. There is a store in Florence, KY that still sells the black cap for $29.99. Every time I visit, I pick up a few bottles for old times sake. Early Times BIB and Buffalo Trace are my primer bourbons.
I finally found a bottle of Sazerac ET BiB last summer, aluminum top and was not impressed. It was okay but not great. For me the Evan Williams BiB is a delicious value for around $20…and it’s available too. Maybe I should give it another try… if I can find it.
Love ET BIB. nursing an old bottle. Have not tried the new version yet because of the not so good reviews. I would hate to see such a great bourbon go away.... I hope they get it right!! i dont get why companies go out of their way to pay millions of dollars for an already highly successful product, and the first thing they do is change the formula and ruin it!
Well in this case there isn't much they could do . Once Sazerac / Barton took over production , the whiskey was the same , but the person blending it was not . That makes a huge difference . As you probably know , blenders in this industry get paid a lot of money just to blend . Like Nancy Fraley for instance . In order to keep it the same , Sazerac would have had to hire the blender from Brown-Forman which probably was not an option . That said , they are getting pretty close to the original blend notes now . The new aluminum capped bottles are pretty dang close to the original . Cheers 🥃
Tried the new stuff right when it came out and was not impressed at all, was no where near what the black tops are. I'll take your word for it that they might have figured things out.. I'll have to grab one and give it a go. Great Video As Always but that shirt needs some bling.... Happy Bunny Day Everyone 🐰
Haha , I will have to bring back the fancy shirts ! As for the various ET BiB bottles . You are correct , the bottle released right after the buy out was bad ........ What I call the notch bottle , due to the notch in the glass on the back of the bottle . I have had a couple of the newer aluminum topped ones though and they are pretty good . Still not as good as when Brown-Forman was doing the blending mind you , but I would say that they are 90 - 95 percent there now . Which for the price , is still one of the better bourbons in the price point in my opinion . Cheers brother 🥃
I think it's the best budget bourbon..it'd my daily drinker. You really can't go wrong with this one
It really is a great value . Cheers 🥃
@@WhiskeyWars 🍻 cheers
I agree with Mr Jiggs. Tried the new stuff and was not impressed after hearing so much about it. Will definitely have to revisit it. Cheers.

@@WhiskeyWars I had the notch bottle. Not good at all.
@@michaelhoffer9172 - Agreed , that bottle sucked .
We LOOOVVVEEE Early Times BIB, either bottle top!! Great for the price and wins a lot in our blinds!!
It is a good budget pour for sure . Cheers 🥃
I wish that I could find that one!
Cheers! Happy Easter!
It is a great budget bottle . Hope you are able to find one . Cheers 🥃

Barton has certainly come a long way with their blending of this product . It's very similar now to when Brown-Forman was blending it .
@@WhiskeyWars Good to know!! Thank you. Cheers!
So good. I wish I had an old one to compare. We love it. Getting kind of hard to find around these parts. Cheers!!!
Interesting . I keep hearing that about more and more bottles . It is a great bottle for the price . Cheers brother 🥃
United Liquors in Florence, KY had cases of the black cap when I visited a month ago. 🥃

Whatt!!!??? What is the name of the liquor store for the black cap? We have many of the blue cap, but tbh, I love blue as much as the black!
@@chasingneat United Liquor. Most of their other prices are inflated.
Good stuff I have found a local store that still has a few as well .
Definitely a go-to bottle for me. I get a lot of banana split flavors on that…chocolate, banana(ish), cherry and delicious.
Cheers,
David
It is a great bottle for sure . Glad that Barton finally got the blend right . Cheers 🥃

I have only had the new Early Times but not a big fan of it. I rather have JTS Brown, WT 101, OF 100 and Benchmark.
101 I would definitely agree on . For me I would say OF 100 is about equal and JTS is a step down for me , but all good whiskeys for sure . Cheers 🥃
