That is brilliant design, I am going to steal that idea of support for the extensions with casters. I really love how support leg and itäs frame is placed between the table legs, so when closed it it does not protrude out of the table frame.

Wow when you finished the workbench my initial thought was "Nice, looks like a sturdy, simple, effective workbench without too many bells and whistles", and after you explained how to use it I understood that it wasn't missing features, it just accomplished the same things even more simply

What an awesome and versatile bench! I think I'm going to make one to replace my current outfeed/assembly table. I'll do it using material and similar build materials as my Cosman workbench with a layered MDF top and Baltic birch base.
Love the workbench, looks great, I too have "salvaged" a stripped Phillips by cutting a slot and backing it out with a flat screwdriver!, Another use for a dremel tool with a cutoff wheel! LOL; keep the videos coming love em! and the out takes too!

Inspired by what I've learned from your site, I built myself an $800, custom work bench $200 - Wood & Hardware $200 - Replacement windshield $400 - Replacement 'soft touch' car radio. It seems that my car was almost long enough to hold the wood...
This is your most useful project to date IMHO. As work benches go I think you really address the most common frustrations with a typical bench. Good work :)
Ooh, you should do a full-extension pull out drawer for the bottom area! That way you don't have to reach in under a hard surface and risk smacking your head.
Haha, I have a can of paste wax I can use. The screws weren't really soft... I actually broke two of my bits putting them in. Just had that one weird one.
Many say this I'm sure...but the outtakes are always one of my favorite parts! Yes yes watching you make mistakes is humorous but the real reason is it validates I'm not the only one!!!! Everytime I almost pee my pants laughing so hard knowing have either have done that or know exactly how it feels!!! Thanks for showing great projects and how human you are! I love your flat head screws, reminds me of the many we used to make a mezzanine in our shop. My grandfather had collected dozens of 1/2 flat head Lag Screws at 4 inches long.

Drew, Nice job on the workbench. Get a $2 wax toilet ring and stick your screws into it before driving soft screws into hardwoods.

Bessey's "quick grip" style clamps are, by far, my favorite. I reach for them first before anything else!
