I got my famicom controllers in a trip to Japan this year, went to the Nintendo store in Kyoto, very lucky they had in stock the famicom controllers, also the snes and n64 ones they had them, so I bought all of them. In this trip just found out you need to be subscribed to the online service, but it is free region, I had a 7 day free trial from my Mexican Nintendo subscription, and it worked just fine, they let me buy no problem. Having the controllers, I don’t see the point in buying the Japanese collectors edition. But it is nice to see the unboxing, thanks for sharing.
Those joycons are extra neat. I got mine today and i noticed the II controller will only register as player 2 (at least while the NES NSO app is running) and I would assume the I controller only connects as player 1 and thats a neat touch

I was looking for the Famicom controllers anyway, and since World Championship was only 10 € more, I just got that one, instead. Payed 65 € on Mercari for it. I may keep my European version as well though, since I like the cartridge replica in there, as well. I think the cover art of the included cards is nicer in the JP version, but that is almost always the case with JP cover art. Other than that, both versions have something nice to offer for collectors, imo.
I prefer the US edition. I want the gold cart for display... I have no use for the famicom controllers personally. I already have the NES joycon controllers anyway...
I had to check it out, changed my console la gauge to Japanese, and I can see the Japanese version, very interesting. It’s not the best edition if you already have the Famicom controllers. Also the packaging of the US/EU edition looks a lot better than the JP version. Also the value is only better because the Yen is so weak right now. Some years ago this would have cost around $110 converted and not $60 like now.
