11:49 that a ideal doll patty patty playhouse you noob, they're worth bank. The way you can tell is by the neck, It will have the stamp that say the brand Ideal
The early years of Nintendo power were so awesome. I found a 3 year old 48th issue at a pawn shop and it had the subscription card still in it. Saved up my allowance, got a money order, and mailed in for a 2 year subscription. They honored it even though the price was $2/mo cheaper than current at the time.
The store owner/clerk (sorry I only found this channel today!) is so damn nice. You can tell he has good energy. Someone who’d be dope to hang out with 100% haha.
@@Spicychicken83 wdym? People that resell games. There's tons of them, they claim to be gamers when in reality they only care about making money. Chase after the right price, rick, etc etc.
What FUN! That Nintendo Power letter. Amazing. That would’ve been the envy of every 7-11 year old back then. I had a smile on my face the WHOLE time he was showing that! Riff!! Simpson’s joke was a 10 outta 10 for originality 😁
When i was a kid i wrote to Nintendo game counselors when i was stuck in crystalis. I couldn’t find one of the sword bracelets, waited 2 weeks to get some generic letter back saying I should draw a map so I don’t back track. Wrote back again saying i still can’t find it and remember the second letter not telling me where it was but giving me a general area and i found it. No idea where those letters went, would have been cool to still have them
Yeah, my favorite toys were micro machines, plus the city road map rug! But me being a kid, not listening to my parents when asked to pick up the toys, they took them and donated to the salvation army. 😂😂 (1980s)
2nd video of yours I’ve watched after stumbling across one of your videos. I’m hooked, and I’ve got a lot of watching to do 😀 PS: Transformers and TMNT’s where my childhood
I just went on EBay.... the 1990 Tetris watch is now $120 🙁 I played mine till the buttons went dead. Pretty sure it was 20 bucks in 1990! For a totally novice Tetris player that thing was super fun. Got me through a lot of wait time in school back then
Wow you find the coolest stuff ever from the 80s and 90s that was my childhood too some I have see or had and stuff i never seen before ever so wow I love your channel and please keep on hunting for awesome stuff
I'd love to hangout with you guys hopefully one day 🙏 and for lunch it'll be on me my treat, while we play video games 😁❤️🎮🕹️ that'll be so awesome and I'll definitely enjoy myself with you guys so much!
So much nostalgia! I had the Wolfman screamer as a kid that thing was super cool the head was filled with like a slime ball if I remember correct also super good deal on the MP EReader cards I've still got mine, it's a card game plus the cards have like different mario party mini games when you swipe em on with a gba/Ereader
I have a few letters that I received back from Nintendo Power as well! That folder looks very familiar...I'm wondering if I have it somewhere within my family's heirlooms and boxes somewhere, but the letters I did keep myself. I don't remember getting the NP pin though. Very cool to see what people would write to NP and what they would send back!
I actually got one of these when I was a kid. No idea what I wrote into them for...but I did, and I got the same folder/letter/pin. No idea what happened to it. But yes...they did this.
Wow seeing that Gameboy rechargeable battery back bought childhood memories flooding back of sitting in the lounge under the lamp (because remembe this was the only way to see the screen properly) playing Bart Simpson Escape From Camp Deadly for hours
I have a copy of that Nintendo strategy guide. Th cover art is so weird! I knew nothing about franchise licensing in 1989 so I was just like huh? Where is Mario and Link? Lol
Thats funny, there is a small store district that looks exactly like that in Huntington Beach Blvd in Orange County that has a store that is exactly like that within it.
Does anyone else have the video glitch/artifacting at 13:17? I thought it was an effect Riff included as part of the joke, but noticed that it went into the next cut lol, too perfect if it’s not just on my end
There were 2 versions of the Battery Pack for the OG Game Boy, and this had to do with the plug that goes into the GB itself. The first version, the plug stuck straight out and the second version the plug was at a right angle. The reason for this change is that the weight of the battery pack would put strain on the AC jack and cause it to break. This happened to me. I remember quite vividly calling NOA and explaining the problem to the rep, and he told me that I was not the only one to have this problem. Fortunately, I was able to get mine repaired at a local Authorized Nintendo Repair Service Center at no charge, and I was sent the updated battery pack, the one with the right angle, for free. One last thing, I had the eReader Mario Party. I found it at Comp USA when they were still around.
At 0:28 the painting on the house shows the famous castle in Heidelberg Germany. In general it looks like they tried to replicate European style houses
Where was the grail? The letter? Rick, love your videos but stop calling things a grail that aren't grails. Action Comics #1? That's a grail. Red River Crossing on the Atari 2600? Yep that's a grail too. Stadium Events on the NES? Absolutely. But ya... just have to point that out. I'm noticing it more and more lately with your videos and Pixel Game Squad videos. Unless this is a Riff thing? Again, not hating, it's just annoying because I keep noticing it more and more.
🔥Rick, the Nintendo Power sleeve you saw @15:17 was something we all signed for a guy at SEGE. He had it from being a kid and told me he wanted all of us TH-camrs to sign it. Do you remember?
I don't see why Hasbro doesn't re-release the G1 exactly as they were with the heat transfers rather than all these new versions of Transformers toys that look cheap and shite.
Someone needs to tell froggy flips bout the mad ball knock offs he has a big collection n would probably love those as well Rick he buys big video game lots as well

Sorry but they don't work. You can never erase information online. Maybe make it harder but to rid it, yeahnope.
Sorry retrorick your new content is boring now. Just like any regular youtuber now. Just flexing after a certain of my subsribers and views

9:52 "FOR MY SON!" (that's what they all say, including me lol) 😂🤣
I love the idea of the sponsor being DeleteMe and then Rick potentially doxxing that family with the letter LOL all love here Rick
The for my son meme is still alive and well. Thank you Riff 🙏

It was fun hanging with you guys, thanks for the lunch. Next time its on me to treat!
Sometimes just seeing stuff like that is the experience... even if you never get to have it. Most people never even know it exists...
Thanks for the invite 😢
I'm dying over here lol
There was only room in that toy store for 2 fake gamers. Sorry
@@MrBill-ee4mrhow can their be fake gamers?
Rick, the only way to make up for this BLATANT disrespect is to give your editor a raise 😭

"Worst Pixar EVER."
I thought of Froggy Flips as soon as I saw those Blurp Balls lol

@15:18 dude reveals his final form. Love that TMNT respek.
My wife has an almost complete collection of Nintendo Powers. This is so cool!
If I had a nickel for every time a gaming channel uses the phrase “holy grail” in the video title…

That sequence at the end where he keeps pulling out stuff reminds me of that scene in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure at the magic shop.
Power Rangers playing in the shop? Wow love it!
that mario party card game brought many great moments to my family. I loved it so much, and still in my collection

Because Rick gets the brown card discount and Riff doesn't because he is brown and doesn't know Spanish. 😂😂😂
