    I've fed fodder exclusively to my rabbits, chickens and now quail for 10 years.

    Great idea Matt. I was growing black sunflower seed fodder for our chickens last year. Then life got busy…

      Oh great idea 💡 I have way way too much black sunflower on hand and was moving it around :) I feel life getting busy and crazy especially lately for sure oh boy, but hey if they get some trays every now and then from me, that's a plus :)

    if u take a cheap plastic shoe box with lid and put 8 holes of 1.25" high on the box you have created a feeder for the quail that wastes virtually no waste........i raise the quail and have about 150 at the moment and love the cheap shoe box

    Do quail need to be given grit if they are fed fodder

    • @graftedbranchhomestead
      @graftedbranchhomestead  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      :) good question. Yes they do need some if fed other things. I give them sand baths, or change the sand in their sand/bath boxes about every week or other. They eat some of the sand to get it :)

    I just use regular containers from the dollar tree with small holes and a regular tray in the bottom to collect the water…

      @graftedbranchhomestead  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's how you keep them. They don't live long anyways, yum. With more space they get territorial and kill eachother.
