- Super easy, fast and inexpensive fodder system set up. Make sure you subscribe to our Channel. ✅
I forgot to mention in the video that we paid about $11 for a 50 pound bag of barley seed. We will yield approximately 300 pounds of fodder from that!! Pretty amazing, huh?!? I also forgot to include that your room temp needs to stay between 65 & 75 degrees. It's also easily digestible for chickens or livestock and nutrient rich. It really is super easy, so I hope you give it a try. 😀
For a small time chicken keeper like me this is awesome! Most videos are just too much of a specialized setup for me. This is attainable for my budget and home.. Thank you!
Same here, I agree!
Same! This is all I need. Hard to find a video like this
This is great! I really love how economical your set up is. Really well thought out. Thanks for showing!

Thank you for doing this video. I have gotten most of my stuff but after seeing this i think i might use similar containers as you are. Especially since I think I already have enough of them. ,😉
Good video, nice setup!
This is so cool! I love growing things and especially love helping farmers who are a big source in our valley. Does fodder that you use good for horses or is there another mixture?
Thanks

Ur seed are really good thats why the result is best.
I like it, clean and simple. Do you have a feed store that is economical that you can tell us about?

Niceeeeeee !
Awesome system you've got going on... I wonder if my quails would like it🙏😊😊
Yes I have been told they will. So I am counting on it. 😊
Good idea to grow hydroponics
Thank you for this great video! How many chickens do you have? I'm thinking of replicating your system but we only have six chickens.
Can this be done in a basement? My home is pretty small to keep something like that in my living area.
Love this but it don't make a mess?
1 question light? What do you use?
Low tech is the best tech. !
You don’t want the older fodder to leak into the newer fodder as if there is any fungus growing it will leak into the newer grain and contaminate it. Grain can soak for 30 minutes.
When I do micro greens I put a tiny bit of food grade hydro peroxide in the water.
And then rinse that off when I go to have the seeds grow. I've also heard of people using one tablespoon of Clorox to 1 gal & rinsing that off before leaving it to sprout.
Does it need any kind of grow lights?
Where did you buy your barley from?
what kind of seeds do you use?
Do you know about what size your white trays are? TIA
You mentioned you got the pants from Walmart what are they actually use for so I can find them
Where do you get your barley seed?
What size are your bins?
Where do you get the barley from?
Love your system! How many chickens do you feed per pan? Do you supplement your chickens with anything else besides fodder?
you must supplement
Do you have lighting
At day 6 or so can u plant it in the ground?
How much can you sell fodder for? And does it sell by the pound or by the tray?
Hi, where did you find your trays at in Walmart, lawn and garden, kitchen? Thanks! Great system :)
I found them in the kitchen section.
How many times we have to water them
How u prevent from mold and fungus
What are the dimensions of the tray . Thanks
Where do you get your seed?
I rise black soldier fly larvaes with my rubish and the chicken manure itself. Hens feast on those grubs frenetically
How many chickens do you feed with that?
Do you ever bleach your seeds?
How many pans of seed do you get per 50 pound bag of barley? I'm sorry if you said it in the video, I couldn't hear very well. And do you think it's ok to give to cows?
Fodder is amazing for cows and all animals on the farm (calves, ducks, sheep, pigs, horses, etc)
What is name of the grass
How many chickens do you have?
Is this setup ok in a basement where there is no sunlight coming in? Or does this need to be in a room that gets sunlight?
You could always add a little artificial light, pretty inexpensively.
Is there somewhere online I can purchase the barley seeds? None of the feed stores local in my area have barley seed, wheat or oats.
I think there is. At least I was told by someone in another state than I am in that there is. I'd have to Google it. Our local feed store had some so I didn't have to do that.
You can also use black oil sunflower seeds.
Where do you get your seeds from?
We use a small, local feed store.
Are you using any soil??? It didn’t look like it!!!
Can’t hear you
No
