I just want to say from a personal standpoint, the most important things you were messaging was 'know thy self', don't 'apologize for who you are' and the main thing for me is 'don't judge this book by it's cover'!! I was born on a Caribbean island, I'm of East Indian decent, culturally I'm an 'West Indian Island Boy', I love calypso, soca and reggae, I am now an American citizen but I've always been captivated by Spanish culture, language and music. I am 65 and I plan to move to Boquete Panama! Thank you again for sharing and continue living your best life!!
I loveyour honesty and transparency. As someone who has a love-hate relationship with Africa (West Africa more specifically), your assessment is spot on. There's so much more I could say, but ultimately it’s about choosing yourself and what you need at this time in your life. I’m in the process of relocating and there’s literally no where in Africa that I feel is safe or stable enough for such a move. Especially, as a single woman of any age. These are the realities that must be considered; not the “potential” of a place. Socio-political stability in the region (and nation of choice), infrastructure, etc must be fully researched. Some locations in Europe and Latin America fell off my list for the reasons I mentioned. At the end of the day, it’s about your needs, wants, etc and you owe no one an explanation or apology for making your decisions. I really need more women living abroad, to have this level of transparency and honesty when discussing relocation. Thank you for this and I’m going to catch up with the rest of the #replays!🫶🏾
Panama is like a paella, we are a mixture of indigenous peoples, Spaniards, African, Chinese, Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Arabs and a bit of many others, with no violence towards each other, regardless of what occurs elsewhere. Not perfect, but glad to be who we are, with our defects, too busy having fun, making friends to spend time on hatred or divisiveness. Enjoy your time, the culture and people. Viva Panama 🇵🇦

Not sure where my comment went, sorry if duplicate. Loved this video comparison and your assessments. We are nurse sisters. I love Africa, its in my blood, even though i am very white and Polish. I lived in Rwanda for 2 years, helped develop and complete the first graduating class of MSN students at UR! So proud of everyone. Your assessment is truth. In my work and travels abroad, I found it difficult to really integrate, into locals lives, to feel a true depth of friendship without a good handle on the language. In a country like Ghana, it is not easy to change the status quo. They are totally stuck with that attitude. You were right and it will take a lot of discipline to make an impactful change.
Thank you for your comment... really appreciate it. It's hard for some to have an objective assessment and make decisions based on such. Thanks for watching.

Oh my gosh... you are so kind. To be even associated with one of my heroes is quite an honor. Thanks for watching and for the kind comments. Please keep watching and listening.
Very informative video. I've been to Rwanda, but spent a few years researching Panama. But Rwanda was open at beginning of the pandemic so I went there. Loved the people, loved the food, but I'm interested in visiting Panama, since I'm back in the states. 😊
Thank you for sharing your experiences in Ghana and Rwanda so objectively. I was eyeing those countries a while back and like you, I didn't buy into the hype. Regarding Panama, I was stationed with the Southern Command back in the day and although the war/conflict was trying, I did not want to leave. I have been going back since the late 1980s and still consider it home. However, I ended up buying a place in Montenegro, which is probably 99.9 percent white. I live in Florida and I am currently renting the condo to tourists. As a black woman, I am treated exceptionally well because I am a rarity there. I had considered Panama for many years but learned that the cops are still crooked and expats are practically re-colonizing towns like Boquete and are driving real estate prices so high that many locals can't afford to buy in their own country. But I do agree that Panama has many good qualities, especially in light of some bad years that we've endured here in The USA. Panama will always have a special place in my heart. I wish you the best!
I'm so happy for you. It sounds like you've found "your place", which is what we all seek. Continued blessings. Thanks for watching and for your comment.
I hope you enjoy your time in Panama. Your hair and make-up is gorgeous Sis. That's right Sis it's nobody's business where you choose to live out your days 💕! Fatimah
I agree with everything you said. I went to Ghana earlier this year. I’ve been to Panamá twice over the past two years and feel the need to return every year for a few days. I felt very welcome in Panamá and I like the closeness to my family since it’s a short flight to the US. The food is much fresher in Panamá and infrastructure is better. I did not feel as welcome in Ghana and hope to see a different side of Ghana when I return on a group trip next year. So far, it’s a NO for me as far as a relocation place.

@@marilynpeoples5099 actually, there are 53 more countries to make a total of 54. My comparison was Ghana to Panamá so the rest is irrelevant to my response. Country to country comparison. Not continent to country… but, I’m sure you know that.

I am glad to have listened to your thoughtful and experienced reasons for choosing Panama. To each her own ! I still think though you owe it to yourself to VISIT other African countries like Gabon , Ivory Coast , South Africa , Namibia , countries quite different from Ghana when it comes to infrastructure, hospitals, etc
Hi, thanks for watching. I was in South Africa last year for 3 months. I would like to visit other African countries, but I think the distance would be a deterrent at this stage of life. Thanks for watching.
I appreciate your honesty. Thank you. I have considered Panama from watching from Dr Sebe and another lady (cant remember her name). Looks like a great place for community.
66? Wow you look Amazing! Yes, I lived there as a military wife a long time ago and loved it. Went to Ghana, it was great but not to permanently move to. I see myself possibly living again Panama.
Thank you for your honest comments. I'm as picky as you are about my food being prepared correctly. Insurance, food , the connection are big considerations for living in a new country.
Your approach to where to live was perfect. Many people move to a place expecting it to be like the US. But like you said, you should know thyself. I appreciate your honesty. I went to Ghana and loved the people and the food, but I would not live there. The Caribbean is for me when I'm ready to settle somewhere else.
I know you didn't intend for certain parts of this video to be funny, but? I HOLLERED here and there. Perhaps it's your deadpan delivery; I don't know. But, thank you for your comments and thoughts.

Been watching your videos and what you are saying about Africa is what we are experiencing here. Food, culture, health care a lot to be desired. We have made a good life here, but want a lot more. We plan on coming there in the next year, keep telling your truth, hope to meet you when we come.🤗❤️
I see nothing wrong with you decision. I have permanent residence there. However, I found that I did not like it there. I found the food very disappointing. I cooked most of my own meals. The cost of living was close to the states and the quality of the housing was not to my liking. I'm in Thailand now. It's not really for me either so I expect to move to Africa in a year to see if I can find a place that I find livable. Great video. I enjoyed your insight.

I’m so sorry about your experience at the “healthcare” facility. But you are right about the fact that the world changed, and we changed, as a result of COVID. For me, as a teacher, I was forced to learn how to work online, which I would never have done voluntarily😂. But it has allowed me to transition to a new way of living; now I can work from wherever in the world I am! This has been amazing, as I spend time with my elderly mother in Mexico, and visit friends and family across the globe. And all this costs less than living in the United States 🤷🏼♀️

Hi Joh...so glad you found us. The nursing situation in the US is so challenging. Congratulations on your decision to check Panama out. Please reach out when you get here...would love to get together. Thanks for watching.
Thank YOU My Dear!❤
It's my pleasure! Thanks for watching.
You are a joy to spend time with. ❤
Thank you so much and thanks for watching.
I recovered from a stroke I had 2021 during COVID smh.now it's time for me to go
Awww...I do hope you've recovered. Thanks for watching.
@@singlewomenretiringabroad I'm recovered but this ain't it.I wanted to go Ghana but I was afraid of maleria n I'm not getting that shit to enter
Girl are you me or am I you😆. I can't eat with my hands either. I absolutely agree with everything you said. So happy you found that place for you. I have been researching Caribbean countries for a while now & Panama is definitely on the list. Thanks for sharing your experience.
It's my pleasure. Thanks for writing.
As always, loving your videos, Maggie. After much and ongoing research, my heart and mind are already set to relocate to Panamá. I plan to visit within 4 months and begin the relocation process very soon thereafter, for several reasons. As a senior, I am looking to do the Pensionado visa. Thank you so very much for your informative videos. Congratulations on making it to 2k subscribers. You may not recall, but I mentioned a few months back in a comment to you that you were going to “blow up”. You are well on your way. Keep up the great work.😊🙏🏽♥️
Same as above. thanks.
Im going down a rabbit hole on your videos as I do my Saturday chores.😂 im loving your vibe and voice. Your sound reminds me of my fav author, Maya Angelo 💕 💖
Oh my gosh... you are so kind. To be even associated with one of my heroes is quite an honor. Thanks for watching and for the kind comments. Please keep watching and listening.
Thank you so much for your sharing your candid perspectives on Panama, Ghana, and Rwanda! Much appreciated!
My pleasure...always. Thanks so much for watching.
Very informative video. I've been to Rwanda, but spent a few years researching Panama. But Rwanda was open at beginning of the pandemic so I went there. Loved the people, loved the food, but I'm interested in visiting Panama, since I'm back in the states. 😊
You should come for a visit. Thanks for watching.
@@singlewomenretiringabroad Absolutely, it was a great video
Good day. Glad you are feeling better. Absolutely everything you mentioned were valid points. Looking forward to your next video. Take care Maggie.
Thank you so much and thanks for watching.
Loved the video!👍🥰
Thank you! 🤗. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for loving Panama 🇵🇦💞. Blessings 🙏💙
Thank you so much. It's my pleasure.
I hope you enjoy your time in Panama. Your hair and make-up is gorgeous Sis. That's right Sis it's nobody's business where you choose to live out your days 💕! Fatimah
Thank you so much 🤗
Great video!!! Thank you for sharing!!
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Thank you very much for the Blaxit workbook, and move abroad self assessment also ur down to earthiness being unapologetic, yes!
Thank you so much. I knew this would be triggering for some. Thanks for watching.
To thine own self be true! Love it! 😊
Always! Thanks for watching,
I agree with everything you said.
It's good to be sensitive to how we feel about a place. It's wonderful that you get to experience both countries. Thanks for writing.
Africa is a continent….52 more countries to be explored….. but you know that 😊
@@marilynpeoples5099 You're right. I was in SA last year, would love to visit Kenya, Uganda and Senegal. I am Yoruba, I guess I should pay a visit to Nigeria as well. Thanks for watching.
@@marilynpeoples5099 actually, there are 53 more countries to make a total of 54. My comparison was Ghana to Panamá so the rest is irrelevant to my response. Country to country comparison. Not continent to country… but, I’m sure you know that.
Im glad i discovered your channel. Im at retirement age and thinking of spending time in South American and in Africa. So this was very insightful. I look forward to visiting Panama as well as Columbia . Thanks again.
It's my pleasure. Happy exploring and thanks for watching.
This is a very good video. So grateful for your honesty. I WAS…. in the valley of decision. I now have clarity.
That is an awesome statement and so encouraging. Thanks for watching.
I hope you enjoy our country and that you meet people who treat you with love and respect.
Thank you so much. I do love your country.
Very informative. I know exactly what you about having a connection and knowing you are in the right place. Have a great weekend Maggie.
Thank you! You too!
Excellent video, I appreciate everything you shared. Please keep the videos coming. I will definitely use this video as a resource one of the best videos I've seen regarding moving abroad. Visiting Panama on a tour later this year, looking forward to exploring the country. You are an inspiration!!!! Keep Doing YOU
Thank you so much for your comment and thank you for watching.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. I am a black American woman who recently retired. I am also looking at Panama.
Awesome. You'll love Panama. Thanks for watching.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. I'm so glad you had a chance to experience Panama. Happy early retirement. Thanks for watching.
Once again a really good comparison sharing. Makesense your awareness is Wisdom!! Thanks again

So happy I ran across this video. Makes me excited to visit Panama. Have a good friend that was born in Panama but raised in the US. Took some time to travel Europe and Asia. Planning my next trip now.
I'm glad you're coming for a visit. You'll love Panama. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment.
Great video!
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
It is a great place. Thanks for writing.
I like Panamá too! Maybe as Haitians, it feels familiar to us. That’s probably why you feel comfortable there.
Yes, probably, especially when I hear kompa, Tabou Combo on the radio and on the buses. They love Kompa! Thanks for watching.
66? Wow you look Amazing! Yes, I lived there as a military wife a long time ago and loved it. Went to Ghana, it was great but not to permanently move to. I see myself possibly living again Panama.
Wow...that would be great. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Interesting 🤔, I love how you emphasize the connection theory
Thank you!
Great information. I'm debating between Ghana, kenya and Panama. 🎉🎉🎉
It can be a difficult decision. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
Thank you for your honest comments. I'm as picky as you are about my food being prepared correctly. Insurance, food , the connection are big considerations for living in a new country.
You got it. Thanks for watching.
I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing your candid view. New subscriber here 👋🏾
Thank you so much and thanks for subbing!
Your approach to where to live was perfect. Many people move to a place expecting it to be like the US. But like you said, you should know thyself. I appreciate your honesty. I went to Ghana and loved the people and the food, but I would not live there. The Caribbean is for me when I'm ready to settle somewhere else.
@@capstone1073 yes, lots of good things in the Caribbean. Healthcare was a concern for me but I can imagine it being blissful. Thanks for writing..
Me too would choose Panama
Thank you and thanks for watching.
I know you didn't intend for certain parts of this video to be funny, but? I HOLLERED here and there. Perhaps it's your deadpan delivery; I don't know. But, thank you for your comments and thoughts.
Ha ha...glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 😀
66 wow you look AMAZING.
Thank you. Thanks for watching.
Hi, thank you so much for all your honest information! We are currently in The Gambia for 3yrs. and doing our due diligence to move to another country. Been watching your videos and what you are saying about Africa is what we are experiencing here. Food, culture, health care a lot to be desired. We have made a good life here, but want a lot more. We plan on coming there in the next year, keep telling your truth, hope to meet you when we come.🤗❤️
That would be awesome. Thanks for watching.
You are a lovely, interesting lady. Thank you for sharing your story and opinions 💗
It's my pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Great content 😀
Thank you very much.
Thank you so much. Please share what you enjoy about Thailand and thanks for watching.
I am moving to Rwanda. I stayed there for a month and feel it’s best for me. However, no place is perfect and to each his own.
@@GodsChild1159 You got it. Thanks for watching.
Excellent advice! Know thyself and make the proper decision for yourself, despite what other people say. No. Ugh ummm. You got that r right Sis.

The invitation to “come home” was called , “ The Year of the Return.”
Indeed.

As an RN I feel your frustration with the Healthcare system and how we are treated. I'm glad you found your peace, looking for mine very soon.
Awesome and thanks for watching. You will find yours.
I have visited Panama 🇵🇦 twice and I loved it both times. I am a single father with a 11 year old boy, so I will have to do more research before moving my son abroad

Could you please let me know when you are on live. I have been trying to catch you live, but I am always missing it. I am watching your replays. If I come to Panamá, I hope I get to meet you.
Hi, thanks for reaching out. I really don't do lives... that was my first one to share the good news. I can consider it if others feel a need for it. So far, you are the first person to ask. Thanks for watching.
New sub here….I’m glad I found ya!
Yeah...thank you much. Welcome to the family and thanks for watching and subbing.
I loved your video ❤
Thank you so much...thanks for watching.
Wow...when opportunity meets openness... it's a beautiful thing. Congratulations on your journey. Thanks for watching and for sharing.
Hi new supporter here. I can't wait to hear this interview ❤! I am building in Ghana Africa lol opposite of you. Many blessings on your journey Sis 🙏🏿. Please support if you have time.
Wow...there are several sisters doing exactly what you're doing. Best wishes.
So glad I found your channel. You had me laughing out loud!! Hey, your likes and dislikes are yours--no one can take that from you. I have no interest in relocating to Africa or Europe. Enjoyed your post and especially your fearlessness and candidness...
Thank you so much. Glad I made you laugh. Thanks for watching.
You have to do what’s best for you. Personally Kigali is a dream place for me. Felt safe it’s clean with little to no crime.

Thanks for sharing. It was good that you went to Ghana and Rwanda and at least your story was not one about getting scammed😂 As a 60 something years old woman facing retirement and wanting to move somewhere, here or abroad, I can appreciate your video. I had planned to go to Ghana, but, since I'm too old for Yellow fever vaccine, decided to go to Morocco instead. We have a friend that relocated to Fes. We leave for Morocco in 2 weeks. Thanks again.
Yeah...congrats! I hope you love Morrocco. Thanks for watching.
