To escape an arranged marriage, she sought political asylum in the Netherlands at the age of 23. In her early 30s, she renounced the Islamic faith of her childhood and began identifying as an atheist, becoming an outspoken critic of Islam in the wake of the September 11th terrorist attacks. In late 2023, Ayaan shocked many by announcing her conversion to Christianity. In May 2006, the TV programme Zembla reported that Hirsi Ali had given false information about her name, her age, and her country of residence when originally applying for asylum. Dutch documentary film crew, which had gone to Kenya to interview various members of Hirsi Ali's family to unearth the story of her origins, misleadingly claimed to reveal that Hirsi Ali had lied about her country of origin and the arranged marriage from which she was fleeing when she arrived in Holland in 1992. It claimed she had not been forced into the marriage and that she therefore had nothing to flee from. She had claimed to come from Somalia (where she lived as a child) because, being a wartorn country, it would qualify her for asylum. The truth was that she had lived for 10 years as a refugee in Kenya. When the film was shown on 11 May, it prompted the Immigration Minister to write a letter to Hirsi Ali stripping her of her Dutch citizenship.
Ayan is a hero for us in India. Following her arc for a decade in India. Don't let the Wokism ridden west fall prey to radical Islam. I got a chuckle last year from reading an article in one of the usual self flag elating Swedish newspapers. Kurds and Turks claiming to speak with one voice over perceived lack of sympathy they met from everyday natives here. The unspeakable horror. This as Turkey was blocking Sweden from NATO - an organization containing mostly our natural allies, not Erdoğan's - over Turkey / Kurdistan conflict complaints.
I am now invited to swallow, that the excessive historical support by Sweden to exiled Kurdish nationalists, has somehow alienated Kurdish diasporas here and driven them into a newfound moping community with the Turks. I am instead convinced, that there is no macro level action any Western country outside the USA can take vis-a-vis any Islamic Mena/CA power, that this power or its diaspora will not reward with an ungrateful, whiny, superiority complex-driven and resentful poison back-slab in the end.

It is a widely held view that the first generation Muslims were grateful essentially for having their lives saved ( genuine asylum seekers I mean )
The second generation have never had it so good and are feeling free to exert their religious preference and culture in effect leading to a possible Muslim / Islamist in due course.

I'd rather say there is an Islam which is based on the Qur'an, this is what westerners call "Islamism" and "radical islam", and secondly, there are moderate and liberal Muslims for whom the Qur'an has a limited relevance for their life, so they don't apply the majority of what's in that book. But the actual Qur'an based Islam is always radical in it's nature, it is rather the moderates who are the exception.

Konstantin is asking a very valid question. “How do we fight a monster without becoming the very thing you are fighting”. The simplest answer I can give is you can’t and I hate to admit this from the bottom of my heart but in certain situations it takes a monster to fight off a monster. People might not agree with this approach but sometimes it has to be done.

Yesterday an ex muslim young guy Sherief Jaber was sentenced to 9 years in prison in Egypt for criticizing islam, he has been trying to escape egypt for 4 years now. As a Dutch person who had moved overseas by the time all the controversy played out, I thought negatively about her due to what I read in Dutch media. But all the interviews I've been seeing on YT with her in recent times (except converting to another religion - I am atheist) have made me rethink and change my position about her.

You could ask the (conservative estimate of) 80 million Hindus killed during the conquest of India or the cultures of North Africa (remember Carthage?) utterly destroyed with the spread of Islam, but of course, they’re gone. But it’s not just ancient history, it’s happening daily to Yazidi, Christian Nigerians and more, by people following the letter of the law as dictated by the Quran. As there are far too many surahs and ahadith instructing Muslims to kill unbelievers, here is a taste.
The penultimate surah chronologically is number 9, the most violent of the surahs.

"So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them."
Note that it says when the sacred months have passed. This means they were not under attack. If they were, the Quran commanded them to defend themselves so there would have been no waiting.

I’ve been following her for years now and have several of her books. I cannot overstate how much I admire her. To hear the pain and fear in her voice now is deeply troubling. It does seem that the recent elections throughout Europe showing a shift to the center represent increasing clarity on these issues. The reason the West is shrinking and failing in the face of the obvious threat of radical Islam is that liberal Westerners simply cannot comprehend that not everyone shares our values of tolerance and never-ending dialogue.
