Yes Maggie, I totally agree with all that you’ve said. I’m 68 and just want PEACE, a slower less stressful pace of living, sunshine and water…friendly, warm hearted people, and a place where my SS check will stretch. I just got my temporary residency visa to move to La Paz, MX in Feb. 2025. Paz means Peace in Spanish. If I don’t like it, I’ll check out David, Panama.

Hello. I mostly enjoy your videos, but wanted to say that America is far from perfect. Many countries are. America is also bot all bad. I'm 65, ready to retire and comfortable in my home and city. My neighborhood isn't scary and I've never been a victim of a crime. Many other countries are safe one year and experiencing a coup the next. Enjoy Panama.

Wonderful video! So many of these points apply to Mexico as well. I don’t know if this is true in Panama, but in Mexico the pay structure is so low that one local friend told me, laughing, “Well, they pretend to pay us, and we pretend to work.” It helps put things into perspective I think!

I'm 52 and ex military female. I'm planning my move to Panama. I'm in the process of releasing myself from my very healthy, able bodied and extremely codependent mother, and controlling family. Dear Maggie, Again, another great video. Keep up the good work. I have my residency, I obtained it via the Friendly Nations Visa route. As I do not presently live in Panama permanently, but visit as often as I can, it is a stipulation that I have to visit Panama at least once every 2 years to keep my residency. I am due to arrive in Panama on 22 November. I It would be my pleasure if I could met you when I am in Panama City. I fly to Boquete on 23 or 24 November for a few days. Take care x

I'm glad I found you. I agree with you. It is not for everyone but some feel forced into it by their financial situation. Speaking for myself, I have been focused on Ecuador and have spent some time there. But now I am considering Panama. I know I have a lot to learn and I appreciate your willingness to share.

In 2021 I left the US to live in the Gambia W. Africa for 2 years. I've been back in the US for one year. I have been considering moving to Panama next. I am a single woman, retired, with only about $2,000 a month to use. Can I really llive in Panama and have a comfortable way of life?

Thank you for posting! I am a single woman living in Boquete and our parade was canceled Sunday due to rain. I've been here for a year and a half and love the Panamanian spirit!! I live in downtown and many say it's to noisy, but for me, not at all. I have been up with them until 5:00 in the morning celebrating, but hey, I'm retired so I can sleep anytime!!
