I went to the Reptile Super Show this past weekend and I saw several people with Dark Den merch (not sure if it was from you or their own DIY) as well as a few tarantula vendors that follow your channel (I live in California, USA.) You're world famous bro!!!
@@h3ntaihunt3r definitely! Another bit of evidence in this case... I watch all his videos and I don't have desire to ever own a tarantula. I have had a scorpion in the past but not into spiders/tarantulas. Still watch because of the content and he's just a cool guy. Lol. ✌🏾
I have gone back and watched every video from your first one- actually I've watched most of them several times- and look forward to your videos every Monday. I have always had a huge fear of spiders my entire life, after finding your channel I now have 2 female phidippus regius & have my 3rd ( male) coming in a week. I love them so much. I named my first one. Kiwi- in honor of your little Kiwi who was a huge part of my new respect for spiders. I love your channel & now you interact with your animals. Thank you for sharing your life & love for these creatures. 🕷🦎🐢🐸🐌🐜🦂🪲🦐
4 years ago I bought my first tarantula after finding your channel. G.pulchra and she's huge! I can't believe it's been that long and i have to thank you for helping me get over my innate fear of spiders and making a lifetime tarantula lover ❤️
As a newer tarantula owner, the thing I find the most fascinating. Is the fact that they really aren't aggressive towards anything but when they are ready to eat. They are almost docile, every time I have upgraded the housing for my tarantulas they have been really good with moving and as long as I stay patient they move relatively slowly. Knock on wood....
When/if you ever get anything in the Harpactirinae subfamily they will make you second guess yourself, especially if you have nice docile Ts, Harps are all on crack and have a vendetta against the world. I LOVE them.
True..the old worlds only become defensive when you fuss with them in their enclosures but once you get them out all of them can be handled if you let them crawl up your hand
Man I love pokies so much they are the prettiest of the arboreal species...the Metallica is stunning ...I love all things tarantula and spider...love your channel
Wow, 7 years. So much can change in such a time span, for better and for worse. I wasn’t expecting this video to make me reflect on such deep thoughts about my own life, but I guess life can surprise you like that sometimes. This was a really lovely video, I enjoyed seeing how the spiders had grown and changed over time, not just how they had gotten bigger, but also how some of their colours had changed so dramatically. It is also nice to think of a tarantula spending such a long time in the care of a loving keeper, and knowing that they had such a happy and healthy life with you. Long live tarantulas, and long live Petko ✊✌️🤘😄
Great way to showcase the growth through the years from slings to adults! Pokies & OBT really have the best coloring patterns IMO. I consider my female OBT the Queen on the collection!
Love you man, still watching your content since 2018 when I had a rough life, losing family and living in car and you've helped me through so many struggles, 4 years later I still get excited to see your videos and different content you put out! I know have great close friends and finally got a living situation almost 4 years later. Just wanted to say thank you for keeping me company and being a funny man :) hope you're wife and kids are doing well :D send them my regards
Now I have over 50 tarantula, and a small invert side hustle, raising up slings for resale, so this was so cool to see how fast or slow different types grow! All thanks to the dark den!
started watching this channel when i got my first tarantula, a b.albo, you were still in a living room with a shelf, a small table and a couch back then
This is such a great idea some then and now clips. WOW the junglearium in this video is a "then and now" in this video it looks like just a framed out space. But now it's an actual Junglearium that has living and breathing stuff going on inside of it today!
Hi Petko! You have such an amazing collection of critters. I have watched all of your videos finally and you inspired me to get into the hobby. I just got my first arachnid, a desert hairy scorpion! 🦂 I have had many reptiles and amphibians in the past including my favorite lizard, an African desert monitor lizard that died of old age at 9 feet long. RIP Maldoror, I miss you my sweet friend 😢.
Dude, I got a desert hairy back in May and he’s one of the most fun animals I own. He has a blue death feigning beetle as his roommate and they’re endlessly entertaining. I’m pretty sure he’s an elderly scorpion, but he’s still pretty active.
@@Moakmeister that's really cool. My desert hairy is actually a scorpling...it could fit in a bottle cap and is molting right now. It also is completely aggressive as per the species. I just love the little beastie!😂
@@Slavador2393 The reason I suspect mine is old is because he doesn’t burrow, and he’s also incredibly docile. Every few weeks he’ll be super defensive as his species is known to be, but most of the time, he just couldn’t be bothered to react to anything lol
@@Moakmeister I have to agree, defensive is a better description, the wee little guy is just defending his territory. Although I'm probably wrong on the sex...I haven't named it yet, does yours have a name?
Loved the concept of this video!!! Great trip down memory lane! I've subscribed to your channel when you only had 500subs. Have not missed a video since.
Wow i really enjoyed that video just like i do all your videos. Thats so cool to see to before and now shots. I have seen every video of the dark dens since you have been in your apartment. 7 years went soo fast. Thank you petro (sorry for my spelling) over the years you have change my mind about turantulas entirely and i will have a pet one day.
I am shocked that your Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens wasn’t on this list. I feel like you’ve had her forever. I know they’re a hit with everyone but they are my favorite Tarantula. I have a two inch baby spring with a salmon pink bird eater. They’re so different in personalities!
You always have great ideas for videos. I only stop and drop what I'm doing for 2 youtubers, DEAD MEAT, and DARK DEN. Amazing content Petko 👌 Thank you for all ypur hard work, big love from the UK 🇬🇧 👍
Nice to see a throwback video like this 😊 A few years back your videos were suggested to me by YT, did watch a few short BBC documentaries about spiders before... maybe why... I have been hooked ever since and currently own 5 new world tarantulas 🕷
Wow, your P. miranda is gorgeous, and I'm usually a mantis fan, not as much tarantulas! But I love your collection--thank you for sharing! I wish you all health.
Thank you for your videos and the work you put into them. I watched some of your first videos and you have worked hard to get where you are. So thanks bro
I've been watching for a while I wouldn't say a long time but I would love to see your organization skills! You must have a file for each and every critter including feeding schedule and video clips. Just amazing I need to be more organized.
Your sponsors are not cheap. I wanted to buy that cool hermitcrab beer opener from antother video for a friend, but was blown away by the 150 € price tag.
The Pokies seem, to me, a rube, to be the supercars of the tarantula world. Sleek, fast, & gorgeous... The other day, I came across a reference, in an c17 Dutch work on the 'gold, slave, and ivory' coast of Africa, on a spider, almost certainly a tarantula, judging from the description. He shared the local belief that the origin of man came from them, from the one called 'Ananse'. I hope, that one day, you'll call one of your African acquisitions 'Ananse'. 😄
