@@vanessajazp6341there is only 1 truly communal tarantula species. There are a couple that are surviving in the wild in a small space, due to habitat loss, but they aren't actually communal, they are tolerating each other and kept well fed.

Exactly! Im currently learning a second language and it's hard! Much respect to anyone who speaks more than one Language.
Biggest problem (at least for me personally) is lacking the use of English on a day to day basis. I know the words and I'm able to form sentences, but speaking it is still another thing entirely. On top of not speaking English for 99% of the time you kinda feel stupid if you actually know how you're supposed to say things but still struggle with it when push comes to shove. That's one of the things that's stopping me from doing something like Petko.

@@chumaggotscaesar thanks for the suggestions! Singing isn't much of a problem, as I know the lyrics beforehand. Coming up with something on the spot is the hard part. Discord talking would probably work best. Just needs people I actually want to talk to lol

The best part about the rehousing was them turning into a ball of feet and rolling down the hill, after which they open up mid roll and run full speed.
That was overly adorable... That and the one that didn't run far but ran under a leaf and was like "yeah, I'm good, no one can see me here" *butt hanging out for everyone to see* silly little guys!

What freaks me out is how quickly those things completely disappear...they’re everywhere and nowhere all at once
That's what terrifies me when I'm rehoming slings. I do it in a plastic tub and go slow, those things are crazy fast. Little ninjas! (Cute ninjas)
Yeah, triggers my phobia. I‘d like to have a big one since I love spiders as a species, but keeping one would mean putting a sling in a big enclosure and only open it to chuck in food and water. =D
It‘s all about dealing with your fear. I promised my kids to catch and set up the next big garden spider I find, so we can watch and care for one without starting cost (which I could also just put back outside if the hobby isn‘t for us).

I ordered 2x H.gigas slings and housed them together, and +-5 months and still did not see them lol. They started 2 tunnels and now I have 2 pet holes.
Do you check on them at night? Get a red, blue or maybe even yellow torch and you can see them in their glory if they’re out. When light is broken apart as such they aren’t able to detect it

The enclosure looks amazing! but structurally It makes me very nervous having such a big glass enclosure over another a glass enclosure supporting all the weight, i would prefer it had 4 columns or something supporting the top one. Sure if left totally alone it's never going to fall but if you bump it or something unexpected and it cracks it's going to be a disaster.
I was thinking the same. My fear is that the glass in the bottom enclosure might just collapse under the weight of the top one
Your final vision is amazing🤩 I recommend laying tape on where you will drill. Then marking & drilling through tape for better grip with bit.

@The Dark Den, why don't you add a hole in your print for the pins? Size it after the smallest nail in a woodmanshop and just nail it down, clip the nail. That way, you are reinforcing the pins. So they don't break as easily.

Hiya Petko, super cool spot in your pet room that communal enclosures what you made. Just a quick advice, if you put on the top of bottom enclosure a thin fish thank pad that will be safier for won't make presure and break the top glass. Or you can use just a really slim yoga mattress or something like that, you know what I mean

Love the video and the whole concept. Personally I’d drill the holes prior to assembly. Also, if you use water, it will be a much smoother cut. Keep up the great work.

Good eye for the felt feet! In the future, a thin felt mat between the enclosures would be best. The issues can come later when things get dusty and pressure points can form when grains collect. The felt mat provides an even cushion that protects each surface 😸👍👍
