    Absolutely fantastic! Let me say that I've scoured youtube for anyone who can explain the process of constructing collage in a concise manner. You, my dearest Cat have a natural ability to teach. Thank you so very much for this.❤❤❤

    Catherine, this is the most comprehensive video I have ever watched on color, placement and composition. Thank you for explaining the steps in great detail. Two days ago I joined your free 5-day collage kickstart workshop. I am going to create papers today. I can’t wait to see what I come up with. Thanks for the inspiration and sharing your gift.

    I really enjoyed this video - I watch a lot of collage videos but for the most part, I think those artists are working intuitively and I can never figure out why they did what they did. But here, you have given us a set of rules about this group which made a lot of sense and I am going to use them in making my next collage. I think limiting the number of papers used will help as I can get quickly lost in the pile I have made. I will be checking all your other videos!

    Love your techniques in that you start with the Tuesday video and then complete collages each week. I’m not sure if I understood a part of what you said at the beginning of video when you were deciding on which new collage pieces to use. You picked out your faves and then put aside the ones you were not crazy about. Did you say you then throw those away or do you put aside and use later? I’m asking bc I wonder if you ever take the ones you are not so crazy about and add more to them so you like them more? Hope thus makes sense. It would be neat to see how you make them better.

    • @catrains.artist
      @catrains.artist  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Very good question, and I didn't explain this! I hang onto most of my "not favorite" papers, with the intention of adding layers to them over time, eventually making them into a favorite. Every now and then, I'll toss a paper just because i have so many and don't need to turn every dud paper into something great. For Tune In Tues demos, I'm choosing to show papers that I think could look good together, but I make so many for each demo, that many go in the dud pile until I get my rhythm and learn to make the paper in the way that I'll love it. Does that answer your question?

    Your videos are always helpful. I appreciate the indexing. Two ways they could be even more helpful: I have to increase the volume for every one of your videos (more for the intro on this one than the exposition). When I clicked to watch, I thought this would be about five different substrates, not five different kinds of prints. Titles and thumbnails have a lot of influence over what I chose to watch (and I doubt I am unique in this).
