That looks nice. I tried a system that provided me with a roller. I was disappointed. I have the equipment needed for spraying automotive finishes. I'm going to prep my tub and spray it. I love the character of old cast iron tubs. You have given me hope that it can be restored to something beautiful.

WOW!!! It looks beautiful. Seems like a very tedious job. I would definitely pay someone to do this. I need my white tub reglazed or refinished. How much would that typically cost? My tub is the same size as that one.

I have been using integrity coating for ten years , great product the only thing I don't like is yellowing over time, do you have any suggestions ? Can I buy a clear coat to stop this from happening for my customers? I use 1,4:1,2 for top coat with great results.

Resurface Solutions will not yellow. The color retention is great!

Looking good buddy. Never heard of Integrity Coatings, had to look them up. Do you usually only put on 1 sheet/level of masking paper to cover the surround? Do you turn down or cut back your pressure so not enough overspray to worry about masking higher? I do truly appreciate to putting out your videos.

Thanks for watching! Yes i limit overspray and use my fume exhaust fan. Your spray pattern on a tub shouldn’t be too wide and should never get you overspray above the 12” paper. We have in fact been using 18” paper as it covers more in less time.

if the tile is being saved wouldn't you keep the acid away from it, if not wouldn't you do the tub after the new tile is up?

Also I usually wash the etching off with water. If I don't I think my paint with split. Like a bunch of pours where the paint doesn't take

When you’re at the end of your cleaning process, I highly recommend using gloves, your hands and fingertips have oil’s in them paint does not stick to oil

Do you have to use acid for the glaze to hold well? Can you get the same affect with a good sanding?

    • @DPTubs
      @DPTubs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Acid is always better. If you don’t have access to acid then use 60 grit sand paper with TSP and then once dry us BULLDOG ADHESION PROMOTER before spraying your finish coats.

Integrity coatings is non-iSO, dulls out in 3-5 months. iSO polyurethane stands up for years and years.
I like how you don’t need to clean your gun after use of primer, just dump in topcoat and go.
      Ever try other bonding agents?

Hi , I have used integrity coatings for years also, have had occasional problems with blistering, unexplained dark stains but gloss remains, have been back to holiday let’s after 8 10 15 years, to repair and refresh, some times strip and respray, mostly holds up pretty well.
Two step cleaning and etching and bonding agent, and probably too many coats, generally return to de knib and buff here and there, and demask is that the same as most other operators .
Have-you used Hawk labs products, I am using them now , high gloss finish, tests on tiles with and with out adhesion promoter, with etch and promoter and no promoter on glaze, really good grab with just etch, and better with etch and adhesion promoter, have done st Andrew cross test
And also left tiles submerged in soapy water for weeks, seemed fine, sticks to acrylic baths well, tried it on samples, something they make baths out of these days like a composite stone holds well, but not tried in the field. It polishes well after removing runs, I think that might reduce the durability on the high use areas.
Great to hear your comments if any 👍
