Don't rely on the highlights. If you can, just watch one Michael Jordan basketball game from the 80's or 90's from tip-off to the end of the 4th quarter. All you have to do is watch him throughout the game and you will automatically say he is the best player. No showboating, no complaining, no flopping, no whining, no resting. Watch his mechanics. Watch his movements. One game and you will be convinced.
@djfriedice7754 FACTS! I'd say at least watch one in the 80s and one in the 90s. In the 80s, MJ had not help, so even dropping 62 on an Elite Celtics squad full of 5 HOFers he couldn't overcome. Watching the full games you will see that MJ passed the ball to his teammates but they often missed wide open shots. Those would be assists if he played with allstar talent around him like today's superteams have or players like Larry Bird and Magic had around them. In the 90s, you'll see how MJ would sacrifice his body and jump into the stands for looseballs. How he never gave up on plays and how he always hustled on defense. You can truly see the context on why scoring wasn't as easy back then going through clogged paint, versus wide open lanes like it is today.
Someone said, "no one has ever been as good at their job as Michael Jordan was at basketball." And I wholeheartedly believe that. He was the first in and last out at practice. Watching MJ in the 90s was so exciting and I was a heat fan lol.
I have been watching ball since the 70s. Kareem, Wilt, Bird, Magic, and I can honestly say that after Jordan, there were no more greats. I tried watching Iverson, Kobe, and yes, Lebron, but none match the passion, and intensity of Jordan. He seemed to be toying with every other player, as though he were 20 times more athletic. It was like watching a superhero on tv.
Jordan has the most accolades, the best per game stats, the most rings as THE GUY, and the most complete game (least weaknesses). It's really not even remotely close.
Bro, you’re on your way down the MJ rabbit hole. I guarantee after you finish, you will be convinced who’s the best before MJ during MJ and after MJ it’s none better than MJ! I subbed to you💯
Seeing those highlights inspired you to want his jersey. Imagine seeing it live in person like we did? This is why his shoes are so iconic then and now.
The more you research into MJ's career and accomplishments, the more you'll realize what I and so many other basketball fans figured out based on what we saw/witnessed/discovered/learned...when you can, check out MJ's 'Best Defender' video, and these others, "What They Won't Tell You In The Bulls Documentary" and "It Took Michael Jordan 8 Years To Pull This Off"...words can't really describe what MJ did on the court because it's not been duplicated on a consistent basis by anyone...players these days are constantly hopping from team to team to try and win a chip, whereas MJ took a dumpster fire of a team and taught them how to be better players and eventual champions (2 3-peats in 8 yrs) says it all about MJ's drive and will to succeed and be the best he can be...great reaction video! look forward to the next one...maybe by the next one, you'll be the proud owner of a Michael Jordan jersey...💯💥✌
Yes sir. You're learning. It's easier to score today and still nobody has had a 3000 point season since Jordan. Yea, My Mother and Grandmother never cared about basketball but Jordan made them fans and they watched every game with his jersey on. Speechless? Check out the historic mixtape and Jordan "one of the best defenders ever "...
Rookie of the Year, two steal titles, two-time dunk champion, two-time gold medals in the Olympics, 10 time scoring champ, NCAA champion, college player of the year, six championships, 2 - 3 p e a t s in 8 years and undefeated in finals appearance for the championship, six Finals MVP, three All-Star MVPs, College MVP, 14 X All-Star........ every year he played, 10x all NBA first team, all NBA second team, it gets redundant but I could go on and on........ the true goat and what LeBron inspires to be when he grows up
Believe it or not he had 3 steals titles. 88, 90 and 93. Only player to have more is Chris Paul. Most impressive was MJ's 1988 stats which not even LeBron has accomplished them all in his 21 seasons. League MVP DPOY Scoring Champ Steals Leader All-Star Gm MVP Reg. season total pts leader All NBA first team All NBA defensive first team Playoff PPG leader Only player to hit 200 steals/100 blocks in a season (and did it in 87 and 88) The most blocks ever in a season by a back court player with 141 BLKs Only player ever wit B2B 50PT gms in the playoffs Slam Dunk contest winner Jordan did all that in the 87-88 season. The GOAT and not even close
Ahhh, ur starting to see how undeniable it is that MJ is the G.O.A.T.!! Part 2 is anticlimactic, next u should watch either “Michael Jordan’s Historic Bulls Mixtape / The Jordan Vault” or “Jordan vs. LeBron - The Best G.O.A.T. Comparison”. After those two videos, one a highlight mixtape, the other (although a few years old) is a great in depth stat comparison of the two at the time. What’s interesting, the stats LeBron has earned through his longevity have still not changed the facts of the comparison! Enjoy the ride…..
And they weren't defensive cadavers like today's bigs. MJ played in an era with some of the greatest rim protectors all-time (Hakeem, David Robinson, Mourning, Mutombo, Ewing, Eaton, Rollins, Parish). And lets not forget some of the greatest perimeter defenders all-time (Moncrief, Alvin Robertson, Rodman, Dennis Johnson, Michael Cooper, Payton, Dumars, Pippen-in practice) he had to get by to put the bigs on vintage posters.
The lack of contact in today's era....MJ would've been nasty with it. So many highlights he looks like he's playing with grown men. He already dominated the paint, I almost feel he would've been bored today. I know numbers get exaggerated of what he would be capable of today, BUT he didn't even focus 3s... He was truly a once in a lifetime athlete, I'm just glad he chose basketball as his sport... I just don't think any other sport would have highlighted his greatness to this level.
Bro I remember being a kid I think I was 10 or 11 sitting in front of the tv watching MJ and the Bulls and what’s crazy my parents sat down with me and watch me watch MJ. They knew why I was excited. My parents definitely know who MJ is but could’nt tell you one thing about basketball. Lol. Good ol’ days.
Now you seen his offensive, the defensive one will just wrap up the reason anyone will...see and KNOW why he is on an other level all to himself. It's called Michael Jordan: One of the Best Defenders Ever.
Shout out to MJ's 1988 accomplishments League MVP DPOY Scoring Champ Steals Leader Reg. season total points leader All NBA first team All NBA defensive first team Playoff PPG leader All Star GM MVP Only player to ever hit 200 steals/100 blocks in a season (and did it B2B, 87 and 88) The most blocks ever in a season by a back court player with 141 BLKs Only player ever wit B2B 50PT gms in a playoff series Slam Dunk contest winner for good measure. Jordan did all that in only his 3rd full season in the NBA. LeBron has not accomplished many of those accolades in his entire 21 seasons.
When I was growing up in Chicago, they had a MJ handprint at school one time… I’ll never forget how big it was.. it was literally bigger than the size of my little league baseball mit. Not surprised he can palm a pumpkin
If you notice in the clip of him in the black sweats shooting fadaways against a younger guy in the gym while telling him right or left. It said it was from 2009! Mj was 46 years old!
Older guys? Even today's finest (Curry, Leonard, Durant, Tatum, Doncic, Zion, Lillard, Butler, Harden, Edwards, Ingram, LaVine, Mitchell) view MJ as the GOAT. The NBA had a poll on the GOAT last year and MJ doubled Bron in votes. Old and young - if you know b-ball like Bo knew Nike cross-trainers, it's a no-brainer. And if you witnessed both MJ and Bron ball in person you find it laughable that they're trying to compare a mere mortal to an alien.
I stopped caring for the NBA after Jordan. Everyone copied him afterwards. He set the bar and new standard of greatness. If you weren't there you'll never truly understand the hype in those days. You missed the greatness of the 80s and 90s. Everything started declining afterwards, look where we are now. Soulless existence watching videos to experience life.
Don't let anyone force you into a belief. You've seen a lot of modern NBA games. As a student of the game, it's about watching as much as you can from different eras. It might boil down to style points, rings, defense, shooting, mid-range, clutchness...IMO Jordan is superior to other greats on most all of those.
Of course nobody can do it the way mj play..it just beautiful ang grace ..even the wanna be GOAT..LE FLOP..NOT EVEN CLOSE.LONG LIVE THE REAL “GOAT” MJ.
Tied for highest vert all time @48", biggest hands pound for pound. He picked up that pumpkin with his 4 fingers as well and he did that in 2015 when he's older and weaker. Lebron couldn't wash this dude's underwear, forget tying his shoes. Ray Lewis jersey? Get a lawrence taylor Jersey, the greatest defensive NFL player all time, and who many consider the greatest player all time.
He can, the piston have jordan rules but they aint btches, they have great defenders and rodman was in piston that time. if he can finish a lay up against the entire team what more today who lacks defense inside.
I'm here to say if the d fence wasn't the way it was we would not have MJ that had to adjust to the harsh and brutal style of play if it was to easy for him we would have never seen the high flyer act caue he wouldn't have to contort his body in there air or damn near land on the floor before letting the ball go just in the nick of time and amazing the crowd with a double clutch or just a air traveling dramatic reverse he dunked through and contact dunked on the greatest defending of nba history I watch Dr Jay Larry bird Iverson Kobe Lbj Shaq and Penny hands down the goat period.
Tell me one team that has the LeBron rules??? Jordans the only one ive ever seen make a bunch of professionals so scared they had to resort to trying to hurt him! Even that didn't work thats why i laugh at people who say he wouldn't be able to dominate in todays game!!! Lmao he would be an even bigger nightmare in today's game, you cant play physical defense, you cant hand check really wtf you going to do in today's game to stop him? I'll wait lol! Great reaction to a true legend!
I would like to see your reaction of a 2 minute video from "Ball is Life" Bulls versus Hawks December 10, 1986. In my opinikn, this is the single most spectacular collection of highlights by a player in a single game.
Again all the physical play of previous generations of basketball is why I laugh at the over hyped up version of the NBA now. I barely pay attention now but used to watch all the time. Not to mention the 3 second rule change lol, NBA used to have big 7 footers standing in front of the hoop. If you notice in that video nearly every shot was contested and defense was played. They were all more complete players. The best thing you can do is go watch the 1989 NBA all star game on TH-cam, that is what the All start cage could and should be.
Yes, I am a 70 yo black woman from Alabama. Wasn't a basketball fan until Mike, but went to see him play in ATLANTA. No one can touch him. And I'm bored with the new game, so I stopped watching NBA.
Im a jordan fan but I dont care if someone picks another guy as the goat. All these top players are in the same tier to me in terms of being great basketball players.
hell yeah get a Michael Jordan Jersey, why not. MJ is in a league of his own
Don't rely on the highlights. If you can, just watch one Michael Jordan basketball game from the 80's or 90's from tip-off to the end of the 4th quarter. All that contact allowed, no fouls called and still nobody could stop him!!! He would kill in today´s league in his sleep!!!!
Even though part 2 is very short, it's a necessary watch cuz it's dedicated to MJ's underrated handles. It's insane! All of it is! 🐐
Bro, you’re on your way down the MJ rabbit hole. I guarantee after you finish, you will be convinced who’s the best before MJ during MJ and after MJ it’s none better than MJ! I subbed to you💯
Great , yes buy MJ jersey.
The real 23
Buy the jersey man.
Seeing those highlights inspired you to want his jersey. Imagine seeing it live in person like we did? This is why his shoes are so iconic then and now.

The one man that lives up to his moniker. Air Jordan.
I don’t know why nobody notices the fact that he dunks from the free throw line in big ass jeans
Yes sir. You're learning. It's easier to score today and still nobody has had a 3000 point season since Jordan. Yea, My Mother and Grandmother never cared about basketball but Jordan made them fans and they watched every game with his jersey on. Speechless? Simply the best that has or will ever live...
In today's rules MJ would average 50 with ease.
Michael Jordan - The Shooter by Goatness
Definitely recommend adding "Michael Jordan: One of the Best Defenders Ever." video to the list. Great compilation of MJ's defensive highlights.

Jordan did all that in the 87-88 season.

I highly recommend watching - Michael "Air" Jordan Original Career Documentary. It's almost 2 hours long but definitely worth it.

Just easier to pick an old jordan game and watch it for yourself. The game will speak for itself. Just pick any random game . Any year
jordan is the shorteset player in the top 10 for boggest hands in nba history. It was a cheat code for him at the guard position.
I stopped caring for the NBA after Jordan. Everyone copied him afterwards. He set the bar and new standard of greatness. If you weren't there you'll never truly understand the hype in those days.
