Like I don’t even know what my great grandparents looked like ever but my great grandkids will probably have a pretty good gauge on not only what i look like, but what i sound like, my mannerisms, and my personality at various stages of life. Hey Mav, To answer your question about the color of the water in the toilet: Fresh water is a hot commodity on a lot of ships. Because of this its not abnormal for ships to have "Sanitary" water systems purely for flushing the toilet. sometimes this can be pure sea water, or treated grey water, piped in for flushing the toilets! Not saying with certainty that that's the situation, but its an educated guess on my part. By the way, learning to shower 1 handed (one to always hold on to the ship) while rocking is a right of passage, you did a good job lol.

You’re right. I used to work on a cruise ship and they pull water from the ocean/river and hold it in a tank used for flushing toilets.

Me,being a minnesotan, not surprised that Mav does the dishes. It's just in our nature. I don't know why really, just the way we were brought up.
Scandinavian/nordic culture in a nutshell if you have manners, i do the dishes if i visit a friend or relative and they cook for me.

Yeah as a scandinavian that really irks me, the rate of english speakers is anywhere from 90-100% in the Nordic region and most people under like 45 is completely fluent (sometimes better than native speakers).

One of my favorite youtube videos is Sam Holmes solo sailing from Los Angeles to Hawaii. There's something so cozy about having a small boat cabin to duck into when conditions are bad. Would be even better with Starlink's new maritime internet! I hope there's more sailing content to come!

Mav, I love you and offer this as a friend; While a camo hat and tee shirt are perfectly okay in many situations, they are not the best attire in a dining room, especially if there are pretty girls to impress. Advice to my son; always pack a collared shirt when traveling. Cheers!

Wow surprised this got a like within an hour 😮 . I forced down some salmon first thing I ate in like 54 hours and some Gatorade first non alcoholic beverage in the same time. Feel a little better good enough that I feel confident I can go to sleep and make it thru the night.
I had a few bell ringers, then panic attacks and finally stuck with whiskey. Still almost killed myself in an accident, drunk driving in 1990. After I got out of the hospital I quit and gave my life to Jesus. I’m 65 now and can’t get through a day without pain medicine. It’s still a drug but I guess you can’t have everything. You can do it. Blessings from the Northwoods of Florida.

Mav, you are legit living my dream these past months. Being on Iceland, discovering the wilderness and then travelling by boat to the Faroe Islands. One of my biggest dreams is doing just what you've done. Being from Denmark, the atlantic has a special place in my heart + i enjoy colder weather.

Living in Alaska spoiled me for fresh fish. I live in Texas now and there's no old salmon or halibut here. I'm thinking that I need to save up for an Iceland ferry trip.

Being underway when I was in the Navy gave me some of the best sleep ever. Yea it might not be the biggest bed and what not, but that gentle rocking side to side was the best sleep of my life.
