Super excited to announce the partnership with zumiez, its a dream come true. thanks to you all for helping me get here.
Check out the exclusive line on their website or in store! www.zumiez.com/brands/mav.html
Hi
So that's why the video suddenly stopped! LOL.
I was watching the first one you uploaded and just as you finished the Paella, it stopped and said it was a private video! When I went to play this, I quickly figured out why, lol. Oops! Good catch!
Gosh I'm early!
We love you!!! ❤🎉
We love you too Mav. Even if you can't find a campsite, I think I speak for all when I say, " I would watch you camp in your own back yard".
yessir!!!
true
Heck he could camp in my backyard!
YESSSSSSSSSSS
Definitely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤
Hi Mav,
I'm happy to see that you're doing paella, a recipe from my country (Spain).
Taking into account that you're doing that in the US and with a heating pot the final result looks excellent.
If you want to do authentic Spanish paella some tips I'll give you:
First, stir the onion, and don't put the tomato til the onion it's brown/translucid. The tomato instead of chopping it, we always grate it as if you're grating cheese and we leave the peel out and cook everything at low fire until it's uniform.
Once you have in your pan the tomato plus the onion well cooked, add the rice to the pan and stir and fry a bit for a few minutes until the grain it's not white, and then you can add the broth/water and the rest of the ingredients as you did.
And don't put the parsley at the end once it's cooked, it's better if you chopped smaller and add it when it's boiling.
I hope this helps you!
Cheers from Barcelona, Spain! 😉

I’m 65 and for some reason I came upon your vlog and I’ve stuck with you I enjoy all your videos. Very relaxing. Thanks Mav. Love you too kiddo. Your parents must be so proud of you. 😊💚 from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦 .
👍🏻
@diannaf.2119 76 here
Mav you don't have to wait till the end to taste the food. You can do it at regular intervals to see if it's bland/salty/undercooked etc, and then adjust accordingly while cooking
Literally praying for some truck camping videos this winter. The snow/blizzard videos are my absolute favorite and if memory serves correct, there wasn't many made this previous winter due to the white truck having issues.
Idk man its mostly been snowy content from mav. Alaska, Japan and Iceland. He spent a long time in Japan too. I think we all love the ice fishing videos and Truck camping in ice storms, but 2022-23 mav has done some huge travel. Great content this pass year imo, but I do know what your saying The "steve" style survival is always great content, and maybe some of Mavs best too.
I’ll have some of those for you 👌🏻
I started watching your videos around february and it’s a relief to watch something thats down to earth and not all crazy and wild. Thank you for what you do MAV you’re the man!
Isn't that the truth.
2 Years since the Mexico road trip!!!....My O my times does fly. Thank you all your content Mav, keep on trucking mate...much love and appreciation.
At 66yo and loving these type of videos , so much more enjoyable then the TV shows I grew up with in the 60s n 70s network junk, PBS did have a "few’ ok shows. But I find it amazing that people have the courage to carry a recorder in public, I know if I ever took videos in any local merchants they’d kick me out. Sure happy you and others who I am subscribed to don’t seem to have a problem.
Right?😂
Hell yeah, Sundays with Maverick
Oh shit cuz I’m in monday rn. I’m in the future (Australia)
Monday here
Monday 🤚
Never noticed it was on Sundays. Probably because I love BeardMeatsFood and he always posts on Sundays too and I've been watching him for longer.
Mav thank you for staying real, never let anyone tell you to be or do different, stay young at heart and keep on trucking. This is why i never miss a video luv you
I wept when I seen you sit down in that chair Infront of Zumiez! I cried Mav because reality sat in for me spiritually realizing how hard you worked for this! But! They say that if you love what you do! You will be Blessed because you are patient! People think Blessing come over night sometimes! THEY CAN! WATCH & SEE! I realized in my own life! That a Higher Power will only give what you can handle! You have proved that you young man! YOU DID IT!!! YOUR OWN MERCHANDISE MAV! YOU PREVAILED! I do not know who works behind the scenes of the products becoming an Empire! I believe and I am sure that I have seen your Mom in the background on some of your platforms! Mom & everybody else! Thanks for letting your Son do what he loves best! 💐
Thank you! We are very proud of Mav.
I’m so happy for you Mav. You’ve made it into zumiez. You’ve done it the correct way. Love you and everything you stand for
And no bragging or boasting involved! Mav is awesome!
That first campground you pulled up to I recognized it right away. I stayed there in 2015. I spent an entire week visiting everything along the North Shore. Great place to be.
I’ve been watching this guy since he was doing little island adventures with Alex, it’s so amazing to see how far he has come! Congratulations mav on the zumies colab!
the way to a woman’s heart is a guy that camps and cooks! thanks Mav.
I think we all agree that we live vicariously through you
I know, I do!
Hey Mav.. This was amazing. That pot did what needed to be done. You took your time. Made sure that it was right. It looks delicious. No matter what it's fresh. You have fresh veggies, & oil+broth is always good. Just more seasoning.. Keep on Trucking, En-joy!!! ❤️🐞🤗
Mav you’re the guy man👌🏼 never a dull moment! So proud of your roots and how far you’ve come. Keep killing it stud.
Good show Maverick! Keep on making the outdoors looking yummy. I also appreciate the evaluation of new products.
Wouldn't be a Sunday evening without a Mav video.
I just found you also a Minnesota woman in England I just saw you make a turkey dinner for the homeless oh love you made me believe there ARE others like me you have no idea what that means to my soul!!! Thank you and side note we never want to see you suffer fishing is fine get a nice fish dinner but anything more is not needed when you suffer I suffer remember that the males in my family introduced me to you so hi!! Love always Kelli
I love that little pot. I’ve had mine for a year now. Its great when its hot out and I don’t want to use the stove! Its also good on road trips if you cook in hotel rooms.
Hey Mav I love your videos! I don’t always have time for the full thing but I stop by for the food.
you should truck camp at a remote trail head then do an overnight backpacking hike! Would be cool to see some kind of cool backpacking food ideas
That would be cool! Could do it in Utah😁
nah hes too lazy todo real camping
Love you Mav, and Paella is one of my faves! Great job! ❤
Hey mav, to fix the rust starting on the bed. 0000 steel whole and some glass cleaner will remove the rust with some scrubbing till it’s gone, from there I’d recommend some bed liner or a rhino lining. It will also slightly help insulate the bed and further rust prevention! Love the content man❤
I have a newer one of these I use for making eggs, ramen, and udon while camping. Mine just has low and high switch, no dial. Love it. Your recipe looks good. I will be trying it. Keep on campin' 🏕 truckin', cookin', Mav
Very sweet of you to adopt that cooking pot, I'm sure you'll give it a good home.
You’re videos bring me a really enjoyable vibe. I love it. Stay doin u
THAT INTRO WAS GOLDEN! so happy i got to witness a part of your glow up through the internet
Thanks Mav, seems like a good electric pot to have for camping. The food look good too, Take care! Keep Truckin.❤

Great video! That paella 🥘 looked amazing! 😊
Best part of my day when i get to watch your awsome travel vids just makes me wanna live this style
I have that same exact electric pot. I bought it over 6 years ago and it is still going strong. I usually use it in hotels, so I put a silicone trivet under it just to be sure I don’t mess up the furniture in the hotel room. I cook all kinds of things in it. My specialty is Parmesan Shrimp and fettuccine. I also make omelets with it. Washing it isn’t hard, but you do have to make sure that you don’t get the electrical parts wet. I typically wash the inside, rinse it out, and then just wipe the outside off. Be very careful what utensils you use in it, though. Silicone is best. The nonstick coating will scratch if you use metal.
Mexican Chorizo is not ideal. Spicy hard salami would be a good substitute next time. Looks bomb though! Nice work Mav!
You're an awesome young man, love to watch you camp and cook!!!❤❤
Thank you for making this video, we're going camping in our conversion van this weekend and a self cooking pot like that is perfect.
I couldn’t be more proud of you Mav. Had some family members go to school with you in Wayzata. Love the new zumies merch 🫶🏻 they’ll be worn too often
That series of videos when you were in Baja were amazing. That’s how I got hooked on your content. You should do a part 2 Baja.
Perfect timing! Thank you mav!
As soon as I hear Holiday Road I immediately think of the Vacations. Great video Mav.
Awesome trip man like the new pot you used. Can’t wait for the Utah trip peace safe travels
Again another great video from you mav thanks for the review of the new pot.
Hey mav Maybe you like muqueca, it's a Brazilian recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb firm white fish fillets (such as cod, snapper, or halibut), cut into chunks
1 onion, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
2 tomatoes, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped cilantro (coriander)
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 tablespoon lime or lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon palm oil (optional, for color and flavor)
1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
1 cup fish or vegetable broth
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
Instructions:
In a large bowl, marinate the fish chunks with lime or lemon juice, salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and red pepper flakes. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes.
In a large pot, heat olive oil and palm oil (if using) over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until softened.
Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
Add the sliced bell peppers and sauté for a few more minutes until slightly softened.
Gently add the marinated fish chunks to the pot, followed by the diced tomatoes. Be careful not to break up the fish.
Pour in the coconut milk and fish/vegetable broth. Stir gently to combine.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then cover the pot and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.
Season the stew with additional salt and pepper if needed.
Just before serving, sprinkle chopped cilantro and green onions over the stew.
Serve the Moqueca hot, preferably with rice and/or traditional sides like farofa (toasted cassava flour) and pirão (a type of fish gravy).
Enjoy your delicious homemade Moqueca!
Keep in mind that this recipe is a basic version, and variations exist depending on the region and personal preferences.
We really do appreciate you too, Mav.
You make camping look so easy and enjoyable!
Ahhh, good ok Two Harbors! I lived there for over 20 years. Love watching you, it brings back such great memories.
Well done Mav, well done! Paella, I'll always remember the first time I had paella; summer 1995 (Before Hugo Chavez), in La Guira, Venezuela, where our ship was on a liberty visit. There was this really cool place off the beach that served nothing but paella, though the wine selection was a bit more varied (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, or water). We were four dudes, three really big and scrawny lil' me. We spent hours chowing down, drinking gallons of red wine and enjoying the relaxed life style of Venezuela...what a tasty way to spend the day.
Love watching the cooking. I often wonder why campers don't use electric skillets. I personally think they are very fitting for camping and will handle cooking and abundance of things.
I think if I were sponsored by Jackery I definitely would! I don’t mean that in a negative way lol. I love my Ecoflow but it’d run that thing for 15 minutes and I’d be left with no fridge. One day for sure though.
Yeah, I think he's always been a bit reluctant to use up battery power for cooking. Yeah, surprised that he's never had a griddle in any vids. Griddles are excellent for hearty camp breakfasts: french toast, flapjacks, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, and then later burgers steaks, salmon, yeah all kinds of stuff..the list goes on..Cheers ,,
@@ccm4052 I quickly learned if I want to be able to eat with my family while camping I needed a griddle. I have a cuisinart griddle and a coleman stove for anything else. My son is allergic to eggs so we cook the eggs on a separate pan. I always go with a 20lb tank but we're a family of 4 and we started using one of those gas fire pits for chilly mornings when the wife wants fire and I don't want to make one just to put it out and leave.
BRO YOU GOT YOUR BRAND IN THE STORES NOW??? IM SO FREAKIN PROUD
Great to see you again Mav! It’s nice seeing you in your truck like old times! I hope to meet you someday.
We love mav he makes the best vids Fr!
Great pot to cook in! Always enjoy the videos Mav!
Provided you enjoy charcoal base flavours
I am glad you said Chorizo! When you were adding it! I asked myself if it was it? My Foster Parents were Hispanic and it was cooked a lot for breakfast mixed in with eggs! I am Irish American 😆 😆
Love u too Mav!! Awesome lil pan you got there, another tool for cooking!!
Awesome review of the cook pot. And a great video 🎉❤

Nothing makes a day that much sweeter than seeing ya up loaded Mav. The adventure is always enjoyable!
Mav....love your content....also, the Japanese curry is awesome... I eat it often. Lived in Japan for a total of 8 yrs... give it a try.

That pan looks like cooking with a hair dryer. ❤
Pretty accurate paella Mav, but come to Spain and get a bigger one! (I'd like to see you in the Pyrenees)
Thank you. Love you too Mav. You’re awesome. 👍
Ok love the intro song! Brings back so many memories ❤
Mav, you should try the Japanese curry blocks you saw at the grocery store! It's super close and we use it in Hawaii all the time
Great video, Mav!! Think it’s best to use that on a hard surface for ventilation. The electric fry pan was a travel must back in the day!❤
My mother used an electric skillet years ago. It worked great!
love your videos i watch em before bed!
Thank you so much Mav I just made paella for the first time because of your video having not know what it was before the vid. It has in 1 night become a staple meal for me.
Thanks Mav for always giving us some epic contents i really do enjoy watching them God bless you
Awesome video as always, Mav! As a Northern Utah native, I’d recommend coming up here and seeing antelope island at sunset, you see all of the mountains in the distance across the great salt lake and the colors are truly breathtaking (I’d recommend the Buffalo point trailhead; it’s a small small hike but the views!), there are also roaming Buffalo on the island and you’re still able to camp there. :) Taking a drive through the Ogden/12th street canyon and coming up on pineview reservoir is also amazing. There are many hikes you can take in there. You can drive around the reservoir and come back into the valley through north Ogden canyon and those views while driving are incredible. You can also go up to causey reservoir and kayak and, again, incredible. We’ve also got the spiral jetty which is crazy. And if you’ve never been through Idaho, highly recommend as well! Bear lake is crystal clear and half in Utah and half in Idaho also. :)
yeahhhh im a utah native too and all of that would be way fun mav
I'm from the the Gulf coast, and here is a little shrimp tip,. ANY shrimp you find in the grocery store arrived at the grocery store frozen. It was frozen at the dock, or sometimes even on the shrimp boat. If you see "fresh" shrimp on ice in the meat counter, that was frozen, and thawed at the store. Shrimp doesn't have a shelf life long enough to ship very far, or keep long enough to sell before it goes bad, unless you freeze it. Buy it frozen, heads off, shell on. It will be just fine. The shell protects the meat when frozen. Being frozen keeps it from spoiling before you are ready to use it. It only takes 15 minutes to thaw in a cool water bath.
Also, seafood comes with a country of origin on the back of the package, and whether it was wild caught or farm raised. Always look for Wild Caught USA shrimp, unless you want much cheaper shrimp that may have been farmed in a third world country in water polluted with chemicals and sewage.
Glenn is right. Be like Glenn ! The fda laws are ignorant when it comes to importing seafood!
@@rogerroger7734 Thanks! Buying seafood can be shopping in a consumer minefield. You really have to do your homework.
@@glennzanotti3346 I process mussels up in Maine and I agree.

Mav, thank you for all your hard work. It's evident how loved you are and how much people appreciate you! I could watch any of your videos... for some reason they just soothe my soul (I know, super cringe but true). KOT, my friend! 🛻👍
OMG Becky! Like, weirdo hippie vibes! Like Totally! 😛😝😜🤪🤣
Hey mav, not sure if you’re into mountain biking at all, but if you come to sundance resort there are some pretty sweet courses to check out! There isn’t any camping on property, but one of my personal favorite spots are in one of the surrounding canyons, look up silver lake if your interested!
That's true.
As somebody from Utah I would say that fish lake is a good place to go. The fall colors are amazing and you can get some rainbow trout fishing in as well.
Congratulations Mav!!!
Dude congratulations on the partnership I’ve been watching for a few years now and like wow dude what you have accomplished is so inspiring man keep up the work!!!!
We love you Mav!! I love watching your vids before going to sleep, its so comforting🫶🏻
*WE LOVE YOU ❤️ MAV!*
Look forward to your vids every week brotha, excited to see the new adventures. Keep on truckin
The kids in the vid was me and my frienda
I live in Salt Lake, but I have some property in a little town called fruitland Utah, with 5 "lakes" within 20 miles in all directions, it might be an area you'd like.
I think that if Mav makes it to Utah he would enjoy the views from the Fish Lake hwy(UT 72) near I -70 overlooking the national parklands to the east and then on SE towards Loa. Capitol Reef NP area near Fruita might be nice too! Lilly lake north of Kamas he might enjoy too! Definitely mountain lions and wolves to be on the lookout for around Lilly lake environs.
That a neat cooking pot. Yummy Paella. Thanks for sharing. We love you too.
Love when Mav posts ❤🎉
Everytime I watch Mav, I'm inspired to make videos of my own. Once I get over the hunger from watching your cooking, that is.
Congrats on Zumiez! You’re great, Mav.
