Nice, tutorials! When performing a Boolean Union, there's no need to add a Boolean Cut afterward. Simply hide the objects properly and uncheck the render button to prevent the hole from closing during rendering.
There is the offset tool in the sketcher tools where you can offset geometry. Look to the left and you will see it.. It looks like 3 curves, 2 are dotted.
Hi, I'm struggling with the mirrored cylinder. After I create the hole - things are not perfectly centered. The hole goes through - but there is a very small portion visible of the outside cylinder when I zoom in. I even did it manually , recreated the second cylinder added a second hole - the result is the same. Working planes are set correctly, their center are ok and I haven't got any more ideas to check what went wrong. Cheers.
Further to my earlier post. I was in the Layout environment when the original model disappeared , but when I switch to the modelling environment it has reappeared also with the new plane visible, exactly as it should be. If I switch back to the Layout everything except the new plane disappears.. ?
Thank you for following this up and sorry for the late reply. If going to pass this one to the Develoer to see if he can answer that one and hopefully can get an answer back.
Help please! when i go to do the final boolean for the holecut it doesnt go through all the way and i'm left with a column in the center to the other side. Only the hole on first side is gone.
Ah I think I know what this is as it caught me out. The object that you set to be removed is still visible. Look to the right hand side and click on the little eye icon by the side of the object in the treeview / out liner
I think that the hole is not centered through the cylinder because you placed the workplane on a face of the cylinder which was also not centered. Hence the crooked number of degrees that you manually changed to 90 degrees. I think it would have been more precise if you had used a face from the plate instead. I hope you understand what I mean.
Hi, when I design model with a holes using CADsketcher in blender , it will give me extra vertices in edit mode, why is that and how I can remove the vertices, also the model in cura give errors.
I have a problem. At around 9:54 I add a plane , then add a new sketch , the original sketch totally disappears and all i'm left with is the new plane with nothing else visible. Am I missing something?. It was going perfectly till that point
Did you by accident hit the H key? That hides objects from the current view. You should be able to see in the Outliner if any objects have their “eyeball” closed. Or… possibly you went into local view? That will basically solo whatever you have selected and hide everything else. Slash “/“ on the numpad is the shortcut to toggle between local and world view. It is easy to accidentally press it.

Brilliant, thank you for these super interesting tutorials! 🙏🏻
My pleasure, glad you like them 😊
Is there a way to offset shapes of a sketch? I want to make cookie and clay cutters and i would like to offset shapes and then extrude them.

Was struggling with this right now, trying to move the 3d cursor to place it right in the middle. I will try your option, ty
