Thanks for looking into it Atom. I’m going to connect my scope to my car (first time) and snoop around . I’ve got other test leads and connectors I want to try and explore hopefully without stepping on a land mine.
Sounds good. I don’t know if you know about Alldata DIY. Among a ton of other information, they also supply all the wire diagrams for everything in your vehicle. Using the DIY, you only pay per vehicle. If you decide to get it; before you pay, you can Google alldatadiy discounts. I usually have to try a few before one works, but you can try as many as you want. Just thought I’d share that with you. Good luck, and have fun with your scope.
I really appreciate the information shared on the video , thanks for you work I hope you can keep posting videos like that. I have been watching videos from others youtube channel but they don't explain accurated and in detail like you do, foreal thanks I'm learning a lot from you.
Karu chvz, thank you for the kind words. Seriously, I truly mean that. I try to be as accurate and detailed as possible. With that said, in order to do so, it does take time, so my videos, often, end up being pretty long. Sometimes I wonder if they are too long, with too much detail; and if people just skip through them. I don’t know. That’s why, with a recent review of the Kaiweets amp clamp meter, I tried to post 2 versions; the regular (full length) one, and a chopped up, heavily edited one. Even still, the “shorter” one still ended up being like 20 minutes, lol. Apparently, I’m the same way with my responses to comments, lol. Sorry so long. Anyway thanks a bunch for the nice comment, that really helps drive me to want to share more videos. It’s all a success, if I can help even just a few people with some info, they may have otherwise not have obtained. Thanks for stopping by the channel karu chvz. You’re welcome anytime my friend.
I'm just trying to start my shop and learn everything as I can from people like you , i can consider you like kind a mentor or teacher so don't worry about having long videos I think the people really interested in learn nobody will complain.i hope you can have more subscribers in that way you can reach more people and being help on your side too. I'll be aware of you videos , keep it on please. 👍🏻
Thank you karu chvz. It really goes both ways. I learn so much from people like you that leave comments, and often teach me something. I don’t know if you’ve heard of Scanner Danner (real name Paul Danner). If not, definitely look him up. I’ve learned so much from him on auto diagnostics. He’s an instructor at Rosedale technical Institute (I believe), diagnoses vehicles for a few shops (and other people), and makes great TH-cam videos explaining his process. I also bought his book. I bought the hard copy, but you can also get the digital copy. It’s definitely worth it. Especially if you’re gonna open a shop. There is a ton of useful info in there for diagnostics. A couple other really good automotive diag channels are South Main Auto (with Eric O), Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics (with Ivan), and KY Home Garage (a DIY’r, but has some really good content). Those are just a few, but I’ll tell you, between Scanner Danner & South Main Auto alone, I have learned so much. Anyway, thanks again friend. I wish you all the luck on your shop. That’s pretty exciting. Maybe once you’re up and running, you can start making some videos. If you do, make sure you drop me a line on hear letting me know the channel so I can subscribe & watch it.
Yes I did I've watched pine hollow diagnostic one of my favorite , scanner danner and others you mentioned but the one I most have watched is pine hollow i can tell is my master teacher, I'll try to look out it the information that you recommend and let you know when I get my youtube channel and maybe shared some acknowledge would be great . Thanks for you reply .
Absolutely. That sounds good. I don’t have a lot of subscribers, but once you set your TH-cam channel up, I’ll mention it to everyone to try and help get you started. With that said, I do appreciate each and every one of my subscribers. In fact, if I had tens of thousands of subscribers, and they were asking me questions, advice, etc., or teaching me something; I wouldn’t have enough time to respond to everyone. Yea, Pine Hollow is one of my favorites too. Ivan is really knowledgeable. I like how Scanner Danners channel is set up. Once you have his book, it all matches up together.
Overload - it means that some node sending too much messages that have errors in them ( incorrect for CAN protocol). It is not a signal problem, it is messaging problem.
Thank you for the info. I enjoy getting feedback from others. I’ll have to watch the video again. It’s been a while since I made it. I’ll do that this evening when I’m done working. Thanks again.
Mr Ahmed, thank you for subscribing. I truly appreciate the support for the channel. Feel free to check out the other videos and leave any comments and or questions you might have. Thanks again Mr Ahmed.
That's some pretty good gear. Maybe I'll get a current probe (for my Signet scope) and try to diagnose the rough idle (i.e. bad fuel injector or ignition component) in my truck.
Thanks ReBus. I say go for it. There are plenty of current probes to choose from. Personally, I’m running the Micsig & Pico current probes. I am very happy with both of them, for what I do. Good luck, and let me know what you end up with.
Automaxwell en video, Hello. I had to use a translate app to read you comment; did mean, which one is better for automotive use? The ATO1104 or the STO1104? If so, I would say the ATO1104 is better for automotive. It has the automotive presets and other automotive options. Also, the scope is more protected, and has a thicker stand, to stand it up. I do really like having the knobs and buttons though of the STO1104. Also, the STO has the color temperature mode and it has Android, where the ATO has Lenox. If they could add the knobs and buttons, and the other nice features of the STO to the ATO, that would be an awesome scope for automotive. But as it is right now, I would say ATO for automotive. Thanks for stopping by.
Hello Vash. Thanks for that. Yea, that’s one of the things I like about these scopes; it seems like there’s always something else on there to learn about. I enjoy learning how to do new things with it. I’m glad I can help my friend. Thanks again for stopping by.
Ok so i did do the video on sunday, but i have been having a hard time getting it uploaded . it seems as if i can't get my laptop to import it....... I think that's what it is. I managed to get a really good waveform from the micsig and also the Hantek wasn't bad either. But yours were bold and really nice, thank for doing that video my friend and i'm a step closer, lol. I don't think your wife is enjoying this at all, i hope you are a smooth talker bro...lol cause you're about to get it!!!!
Hello Leo. Thanks for the kind words. I hear you bro, I struggle regularly with those types of problems. In fact, that last video I did took hours to get it uploaded to TH-cam. I’m glad you got a good waveform. I look forward to seeing it in your video. Don’t give up on it. Sometimes you just have to step away for a little bit, then come back to it, and Eureka, it works out. Let me know when you get it uploaded.
Leo, I was just thinking. I found that’s it’s easier to just do everything straight from my phone. From recording, to editing, to uploading. I think it’s an iPhone 7, and I use iMovie app for editing. My biggest problem lately is freeing up memory on my phone ever time I need to save it from the editing app to my phone. I’m hoping when I get the GoPro, it’ll make all this easier. Hope this helps, if only a little bit. I know it can be frustrating, lol. Yea, I’m good with the wife. I will say, I have been blessed with an unusually understanding wife, lol. On the 31st we will be married for 21 years. After that much time together, you learn your limits, of what you can and cannot get away with, lol. Take care my friend.
11:04 am cst. Does this scope have the ability to do automotive sensors. After I updated mine the screen for the MAF sensor appeared. Not knowing how to use it I lost that screen and I cannot find it
I’m not sure what you mean by the “screen for the MAF sensor”. I haven’t updated my STO1104E in a while. I say this because the ATO & SATO have the automotive presets for sensors and what not. Did they add that to the STO In an update? Of course you can use the STO for automotive without the presets. All the presets do, is set your time and voltage/ amperage settings for you; and from my experience, they are sometimes off anyway. I’m a little confused about the question, sorry.
@@atomsworkshop195 you’ve answer my question. Thank you. Since the preset screen appeared after the update, I thought perhaps MIGSIG added this feature with an update. Now I know what to do. Thank you again. Btw my first time with this scope.
