Jwong is Evo moment 37, half of it anyways, at that point he probably can't hear anything other than the parry, and the sound of his fight stick mashing front row seat means just another spectator
Justin is so zen. Shows a clip of him performing one of the best comebacks we've ever seen then he says, "yeah it's aite, but it's not as good as this other one where I get humiliated."
@@TiredofnonsenseDaigo won that set 2-0, actually (the comeback happened at the end of Game 1 in Losers Finals). Justin Wong finished 3rd and Daigo finished 2nd after losing to KO in Grand Finals.
One of my favorites is EVO 2011 Grand Finals for MVC3, Game 5. PR Rog made a comeback against Viscant's entire team with Tron to reset the bracket. When he landed the grab super on Dark Phoenix, the roof almost blew off of that place with how hype the crowd got.

7:49 - I WAS THERE! Texas showdown jwong vs executioner. It was at Stargate before they expanded so the room was very tight and absolutely packed. It was one of my favorite FGC moments. The next year I went to Evo and I rode the shuttle from the airport to the hotel and executioner was in the shuttle and I mess with him a little bit and asked him why he didn't run and he just laughed and shook his head 😂😂😂 I love this moment EDIT: What makes this clip even better is if you look at the AHVB that won the match, he didn't have meter until he did a tiger knee regular viper beam. That built the last little bit, then he cancelled it into AHVB. Bro.
@PseudoWounds haha yeah I've been around for a while :D I believe it was either that year or one year after that, my friend group all went to Loli-cup next door (if you know you know) and were waiting for our matches. Combofiend was there, and Jwong was there. First time I ever met Jwong I was pretty nervous, even then he was like FGC royalty. We were playing dominoes at the table, and jwong asked if he could play (or he knew somebody we were playing with or something like that). He was asking how to play as he was holding his dominoes and we told him and he goes "oh like this...and like this? oh yeah look at that!" and fuckin wiped us up. I genuinely believe he had no idea how to play. MagnetoX walked past the table, stopped and put a quarter down on the edge and goes "I got next". Genuinely some of the best times of my life were spent in that tiny ass room huddled together just playing Marvel. No real social media to speak of, we downloaded moment 37 from an IRC chat room. Now that I'm almost 40 and have two small kids of my own, I really hope they have a point in their lives they can look back on when they get older and have the same type of smile enducing memories that this time period gave me. Oh and a quick extra story about this clip. That was the year before SG moved a couple doors down to a bigger place (when I say bigger i mean like a couple hundred feet bigger, but that meant alot cuz it was small af). In that tiny ass room there was the marvel machines, a TV up on the wall playing the matches so we could see, and ALOT of people. Also just so happened that there was some random side DDR tourney in the same tiny room, and those ppl weren't really fighting game players. They thought the pop offs like this were funny, so every once in a while they would pop off in a very similar way to the people playing DDR. So there was like this back and forth happening between DDR and FGC. It was fucking magical.
I gotta say. Pro Tip #7 is the original FGC clip I ever found here on TH-cam. Just a kid with his first broadband connection back in the day looking up cool MVC2 stuff. Had no idea who the heck Justin Wong was at that point of my life, but I do remember you are the one who started my love of the FGC as a community all the way back then.
Although it's not here, Daigo's comeback vs Infiltration at Capcom Cup 2015 was the most clutch I can remember from SFIV. The single pixel of health, the big life deficit, time running out, the ooos and aaahs from the crowd, and F-Word erupting in disbelieving laughter.
I’m glad you added that Cable comeback. My friends and I who still play Marvel think that’s the most clutch comeback of all time. I’m glad there is footage of it.
Evo 2014 was the only EVO I ever went to and Blazblue was my main game at the time, so I was so unbelievably hyped to see this match live and in person. Thanks for including it man, I might go again this year for the ten-year anniversary. I'm inspired

Galileo vs Dogura is still imo the best comeback there is. The reset is iconic but the whole set is full of clutch moments, Galileo constantly pulling through while Dogura is at a match point, and it's only made all the more exciting when you rememeber Dogura was the one who knocked Galileo down to losers in the first place. Impossible not to get hyped watching it.
I love that mvc2 cyclops comeback!! Your mvc3 akuma comebacks are legendary but idky I love the cyclops comeback the most. I lol every time at the guy in crowd yelling "STOP RESISTING" at 57 seconds left in the game.
I actually have a fair bit to say about this one, but I'll try to keep it "brief". Woo vs Reynald is probably my favorite fighting game set of all time, because it has a little bit of everything. Comebacks, momentum, panic, popoffs and a hype crowd. The ending where Woo throws his stick lives in my head rent free, which is an accumulation of his mental breaking down over the set, which was also visible on his face. Dude thought he had it with how the first two games went, then reynald just turns it up. Daigo vs infiltration at capcom cup 2015 is probably the best sf4 comeback, but there are honestly so many you could list, like ryan hart vs momochi (either set) also from capcup. For umvc3, my number one is probably fchamp vs apologyman game 4 at evo 2014. That one goes under the radar a lot, because I think it was in pools still, so not a lot of people saw that. My 2nd place though is actually Justin wong vs too much damage at KIT. That last game is ridiculous, and in another world, Justin loses that set lol. A real nailbiter.
I know smash ultimate is not always beloved in the fgc community but Mkleo game 4 grand finals at evo is the greatest come back in my mind. He was down 2-1 in games and was losing badly in the tournament deciding match. He had only 1 stock left and tweek had 3. Some how Leo not only wins that match but then win the set and then 3-0 in the reset if I remember correctly. You don’t need to understand smash to see just how crazy of a comback it is but if you understand smash then its actual like godlike. Cyclops clip but in smash and maybe harder due to the pressure as this was the the last game if tweek one.
If you do another one of these you HAVE to include Glutonny vs Ken at Delfino Maza 2023. Genuinely the craziest smash comeback of all time. You can just look up Ken vs Glutonny Delfino Maza on youtube and it will pop up, the match starts at 20:46
Evo Moment 37 is an iconic moment in video game history. People have meme on Justin Wong because of it but imo it exemplifies the sentiment that "it is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose." Justin's play was the right call; it would have been enough chip dmg to win and it was thought impossible to parry. Daigo was literally the first person who demonstrated, what at the time was thought of as inhuman level of frame perfect input. You had to be there, man. It was like watching a normal dude jump from a sky scraper and successfully do a superhero landing.
I was lucky to witness the last comeback (DBFZ, Go1 vs. TSM Leffen) live although I did not watch DBFZ matches very often (more like once to twice a year), and it was definitely the best comeback I ever witnessed live.
UMVC3 was my entryway to the versus games and will always have a special place in my heart, but ngl, the game director must have been high the day lv3 X-Factor was shown to him. I cannot think of any other reason as to why it such a bats**t crazy mechanic made it into the game.
I love how the first half of the video were all clips of jwong and they all were legit entries. I wish i was good enough at something to where i give a top ten list and the first four were my clips, and I have to say "that's enough of my clips let's show somebody else for a change 😂 absolute goat
I loved Dorabang's almost comeback at Evo 2010. He was on the brink of elimination, and managed to make it the whole way through losers' bracket, reset in grand finals, and took it to the final round of the final match playing as Bang Shishigami. He came so close. It was a heck of a tournament.
The Daigo parry and the Cyclops comeback both have striking similarities. In each of their comebacks, Daigo and Justin were both on the player 2 side, were getting destroyed in the beginning, but each of them managed to get the win against seemingly impossible odds. Both times, the crowd was initially against them, and hearing the crowd gradually get louder as Daigo/Justin begin to claw their way back from defeat is just so awesome. It's also funny to note that neither of them actually won their respective tournaments that year, but few people remember that because the comeback that happened a few matches before is what has endured through history.
Ito Deejays super counter to Shiki Boxers super during the SSF2X Tougeki 2010 Semi Finals, before OCV-ing the rest of the team (Nuki and Muteki). Just an insane performance.
The best part of moment 37 is how everyone is already hyped af for justin to win, then they realize whats happening on the screen and instead of die off like you'd expect the noise just roars up even louder as everyone loses their minds for daigo.
I may be wrong for this but there is a sweet sensation knowing you pulled that comeback to Desmond in 03'. You were untouchable in Marvel 2 back then bro. That was a crazy time back then.
Justin's Cyclops comeback will always be #1 for me. I still bring it up when I talk with my friends about the greatest fighting game moments of all time.
Evo moment #37 and ur comeback in MvC2 are hands down the greatest comebacks in fighting game history. The evo2014 comeback with u vs fchamp in the semifinals when u only had akuma and he had doom n dark phoenix n u got a happy birthday off of xfactor was OD. Very underrated imo.
Hey justin it’s Larry “shinblanka”. Just wondering why no bionic arm on the list? Ps-you vs diago in 3s is the moment of all moments tbh. I still got the video cam footage also somewhere in my garage!
Super Akouma's pixel hp comeback against Chikurin in Tekken World Tour 2019. The moment he got in the jab, he didn't let him breathe for a single bit during that one sided beatdown.

Alex Valle vs Bonchan 2015 Evo was beautiful.
Hes so humble, surely hes the greatest
Super Akouma's pixel hp comeback against Chikurin in Tekken World Tour 2019.
The moment he got in the jab, he didn't let him breathe for a single bit during that one sided beatdown.
What a legend mister Wong is.
These videos man...Justin is just THE GOAT

Wholesome Hug
Nah imma watch this when it hits the Twitch YT marathon stream so that I can experience it live.
Me watching Jwong: He's so good, he knows all the characters and frames and all that stuff
Jwong during the whole clip: Yeah that was supposed to be something else, so... that just sort of worked out
7:48 that cable comeback was od never seen that before👍
To set the tone for the TX showdown comeback. The arcade was packed arm to arm, it was so dope.
I rewatch the Go1 comeback every month or so its so fking good if you see the one with the music too its insane
Justin Wong vs Xecutioner MVC2 grandfinals , most impressive I've ever seen.
You vs X at Texas Showdown 3 was instantly the greatest and still hasn't been topped.
3:35 bro was destroying his control
I like Nemo's comeback vs Punk at NLBC, that was legendary.
got so hype for a second when Justin said "when's Marvel" hahaha
