    Leave the shower open at the top for the excess steam and moisture to have a draft to escape out the mush vent.

      A 12 volt fan in the vent, would help the steam to escape to outside.

    The Tray should have a natural flow to the waste anyhow.
    Nice to see it all coming together.

      You’re right it does have however because the boat slopes the other way, we were worried that it would counter act the natural flow of the tray. This way we basically increased the natural flow back to hopefully it’s normal level

    Morning James. Love your new T mug 😆 Shower tray looking and love your helping hand poles as it means you can continue doing other things or just drink T lol 😂 This is absolutely the best boat build channel on TH-cam as it's all your own work with mistakes taboo 👍🏻 I'm not saying others are rubbish I just think your whole perspective of what your doing is brilliant. Cheers Stevie

    The little cut out in the ceiling worked really well, and some nicely applied silicone sealant will cover it up. Just thinking, what about putting in a small 12 volt fan in the mushroom as an extractor fan. Something like what can be found in a computer tower.

  • @randoneur
    @randoneur 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    James, the saw I sent you cuts on the pull. It's opposite of a normal saw. Just hold it flush with the wood and gently pull. It'll cut through like a hot knife in butter :-)

    Looking proper now mate. I’d leave that gap at the top of the enclosure. Something to do with the air being pulled in from the room so the steam can be sucked up the vent. Bit like when you cover the top half of the stove with a news paper to get the fire going in theory. Lol

    Hiya.... just seen your vlog and hope all your journey of your boat built goes well.. looking good so far... if you don't mind me saying, on my narrowboat it had rock wool insulation and it was excellent for keeping the boat warm and also helped with soundproofing..!! As long as it didn't get water damage..!! Also I put perspex plastic sheets on the window frames(inside) with draft excluder tape and velcro tape in wintertime. Worked really well... just ideas....

    Dear James
    I hope you don't have any problems with your drinking water pressure system. In video no. 58 I see the pressurised water tank mounted horizontally. If the tank does not have a diaphragm inside (air/water separation), the tank must be mounted vertically above the pump.
    wish you much success, and greetings from switzerland

    • @TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt
      @TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The tank doesn’t have a diaphragm. Surely the pump doesn’t require gravity in order to pump water as long as there is an air inflow

    • @michaelburns6197
      @michaelburns6197 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuiltJames, I think Urs' comment relates to the Jabsco accumulator which I believe does have a diaphragm.

    Would be a good idea to silicone seal around the shower tray to the plywood before you tile and fit the panels. If you still have a gap under the front edge of the shower tray you could slide a floor covering under it. Keep up the good work.

    Hi James loved last nights how to fit a ceiling tutorial Rowena was amazed at how you kept calm having seen me in action she won't came anywhere near the boat if I'm working on it I am famous for my quick loss of temper when things don't go the way I want them to.Right back to your shower fitting if your shower doors are of the sliding type you will have to cut a slot in the ceiling to accommodate the door when you open it just like mine😩😩😩😩😩😩

  • @dicantria
    @dicantria 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Not sure if they do one or any of your viewers know of something to do the job, but it may be an idea to install an extractor fan in the mushroom vent. I've thought about doing it with a computer fan. It can get very steamy sometimes when having a shower.
    Something like this, not sure it goes out of mushroom vent though:

    I have to say that I don't understand your bathroom layout or choice of shower cubicle at all. I've done a couple of shower cubicles and it looks to me like your heading for a tiling and sealing nightmare. I hope I'm wrong and you've thought it all through. If not, just take a step back whilst you can still change things around. Water in the wrong place can make a really expensive mess very quickly.
