Thanks for the shout out guys we were very touched. And so glad we paid for you to get bogged 😂🤪 look forward to some more sweat drenching Nail biting episode next time 😁 we got extremely bogged going into the Mt Moffatt section many many years ago, we can share getting bogged stories when we catch up 😁
Hey Chris & Kate, Thank you for the help to get there. It would be great to catch up one day. We will slowly be heading north, so we may be able to catch you somewhere up in FNQ. Cheers, karl & katty
Hi Karl and Katty glad to see you back on the road [TRACK] Im sure this one will keep you busy for a few days. Good to catch up at Emerald CP for chat cheers from the two Ls
Thanks Katty and Karl for reply, terrific video guys ,monster bog keep you fit mate , I drove around Aussie in 1989 in a campervan with my family , and im lucky to have also.been all over Aussie by small plane and by ship .Cheers Guys take care .regards Bernie .
So glad to see you both back . That was one hell of a bogging. We feel your pain on that one...we have twice now been stuck on the chassis rails with the van on the back not fun. Can't wait for part two for this.
Been looking forward to you sharing your adventures again. Well an adventure you could do without. Nothing plain sailing at times hey!! All else fails have a beer. See ya next time.
Hi Graham, We got out in the end, the question is - how many more times did we get bogged and how long did it take us? I can now say it was all good fun……..
Hola chicos.. Me gusta mucho sus videos su país siempre ha sido muy interesante y hermoso para mi.. Y con sus videos lo conozco mas.. Un saludo desde mi país san José Costa Rica.. América Central.. 😎😎💪💪
We do live through next week but it's more challenging to get out than we expected. We finally get to our Mt Moffat camp, serene and quite, no winches, no engines and no body else 👍👍
We have these in the NSW RFS and the larger 12t 4wd model. After so many became stranded when they encountered anything soft like sand or mud, they were banned from off-road permanently. The first thing to go was the clutch, then the front CVs also self destructed. They are now restricted to graded roads and less than 5% inclines. Retrieving them from situations was a massive problem and usually required specialised contractors with 6x6 winch equipped equipment at a massive cost.
@@nowhereboundtouring Yeah. Too tall so they tip over, too heavy so they can't cross sand or mud.Too underpowered to climb a decent gradient. Too much weight concentrated on just four tyres. What you need is something a lot lighter like a UniMog or a lot more traction like a 6x6, but the fuel consumption would be horrendous.
What a pickle!! I subbed straight away. Can’t wait to see how you swing the van around. I wonder if you could put a tow ball on the back? (There are a few spelling errors in the text parts, patreons doesn’t have an apostrophe and defiantly should be definitely.) Can’t wait for the next part.

Hey Zip, I placed it high up on the tree to help lift the front of the truck out of the soft soil. Low down and it would just pull the truck through the soil like a bull dozer. 👍
Im so happy to see you back on board again i hope you both have fully recovered from your terrifying ordeal that you both went through all the best and enjoy your travels kind regards Bernie im 73 and happy retired Aussie Seafarer .
Hi Tim, Hope you are both well. It is a great area and worth a visit if you like remote bush camping. We will probably cross paths again one day. 👍 Cheers, karl & katty
Hi Ben, They were the most aggressive tyres available ( for the size and load rating) when we put them on last year. They now have better suited patterns for us to choose next time.
@@nowhereboundtouring We have had better on Fire Appliances. There are also 35/37/39" option 4WD MT tyres that actually are load rated and can suit super-singles and duals.

Imagine no winch, no traction pads, and no big modern chunky tyye truck! And doing what you guys did > driving on a road where you have no idea of big hills or bad terrain and getting bogged. In this case you need to have lots of water (and food), call for help on the radio, and basically camp where you are, until saved by some outback mad 4WD guy/girl. OR, you dig out the mud (by hand if no shovel) then get lots of dry bush foliage, shove it under the tyres. And hope to have enough traction to get out! Many hours work, and if it rains... well that would be the end.
