I went on the Bennett Hway. It was a shocker. Slab huts are made with a mall, wedges, broad axe, and adz. We had cow bales made this way and we used these tools to do an ad on and machinery shed. My dad who just t passed on 17th Nov. Was great with these tools.
For a main in highway, the Cunningham highway starting from Ipswich is absolutely shocking. The potholes and ridges and bumps are dangerous. When they finally do “repair” some potholes, they’re back and worse within a week or so. This road is utilised by many trucks and is not maintained with this in mind. It is shocking the overall conditions of our roads right across the country. It is abysmal what taxes we pay, and the lack of money directed to our roads. On a better note, we are so glad you’re enjoying the new van and you will be so pleased when you get the diesel heater installed.
Yes some roads are just shocking hey 🥵 Sometimes I just can’t believe they haven’t been fixed. So dangerous too! Yes loving the new caravan, thank you!
Hi just starting watching you guys l have watched a lot of people doing what you do ..but you to guys are the best l have watched .and thankyou for if well presented work you do .sorry about some of the spelling ..cheers rick
I'm from Tasmania, there is many, not so good roads, in Tassie. I have driven up and down on the Jacobs Ladder, which is driving up to the snow ski resort on Ben Lomond, Ben Lomond is a mountain in Northern Tasmania. I have also driven on many other not so good roads in Tassie, too many to mention all.
Yes the Warrego would be the worst bitumen rd! Other than the spot south of Gladstone on the Bruce with the pot holes. Hope you liked Bowenville. It’s just down the road. A slab hut is the timber slabs it’s made of. Also we love Sandstone! Epic sunrise and sunset. The gorge walk all the way till the end stops in some spectacular spots. Love the new van.
Absolutely a couple of shocking 'highways' shame they call them highways for the state there in. Sandstone has some amazing views! We will have to venture a bit further next time!
Another great episode - thank you. We really love the dog aspects that you bring into your videos. We will be traveling with our Shih Tzu - Hewson - like Juice, he is a really good boy. We appreciate hearing and seeing how life on the road with a dog can be handled. We traveled NZ in 2023 with Hewson and he loved each new location - including playing in the snow at 2:30am in Te Anau. Can’t wait to bring him to Australia. 🐶😁🌺
We found the further up the gorge you go the more beautiful it gets. 23klm return i think it was. The next day my knees were shot so only managed to cross over the first stepping stones and admitted defeat. We'll go back again though, well worth it.
Chelsea and Bryce hope I spelt your name right brother, absolutely LOVED the imitation BOAB tree, it's so beautiful, thanks for being awesome you two, safe adventures and happy days
Ivanhoe to Balranald NSW! Ended up heading west along the dirt road back to Mildura through Mungo cause the bitchumen was that horrible even in a Prado!
Great video. It brought back some good memories for me. It was my first time solo camping, and I absolutely loved it. Same campgrounds, amazing sunsets. The moss garden was amazing, and next time, try the amphitheatre as that's cool too. Thanks for the heads up on free camping, as I'm planning to go back soon and last time, I pushed driving for 8 hours from the Sunshine Coast in one day!! I do think that highway is one of the worst!
Thanks for watching! Such good views from sandstone Park, we will have to venture further next time for sure! There's heaps of free camping out there, wiki camps is helpful for that 👍
I've got friends who are living and working in Roma QLD at the moment. I'd be driving from Adelaide in a 2003 Suzuki Ignis so i'm a bit hesitant (a lot😆) Great video and thankyou 😊❤️
Love your new van guys. We have the exact same van 19’6 centre door NRV. Only we have had ours 3 years now and done around 30,000kms with no issues. Hope yours brings you as much joy as ours does.
Hi guys another great video. Congratulations on getting your new caravan, it looks awesome. I have been travelling around SA for the last seven weeks and pulled the caravan across the Nullarbor for the first time, the new Ford Ranger is going great towing the caravan very happy with the car. Having an awesome time but the roads in SA are terrible I will never complain about Perth roads again, but besides the roads SA has some amazing scenery. This is the first chance I have had to catch up on your videos, all great as usual, keep up the gret work. Enjoy your travels and stay safe. Cheers Peter
Love the videos guys, keep up the posts! Newell highway.... Absolutely abysmal of a highway. One night, there would have been around 9 cars pulled over changing tyres from a monster pot hole. That road is horrid.
More people are free camping these days as it's very expensive. There's there's a road in Southern Queensland 100 km long and it tells you you're at your own risk if you take your van on it and it tells you how many accidents in the last year in caravan and it's crazy it broke the suspension on my caravan and it's a bitumen road and I was going slow
Love the new van and looking 👀 forward to the adventures We just did the Newell Highway and it is really poor condition in parts, same as Qld tracks that they call roads! 😂 0:56 everythink? Come on 😅
Thank you! We love the new caravan too 🤩 Yes sometimes I (Chelsea) pronounce words wrong. I did have speech therapy as a child but some words still slip through. Very self conscious of it and my dyslexia. Thanks for watching Tony 😊
Bruce is a goat track for most parts, a British friend explained it simple , aus is so much bigger less peeps taxes are high…. Eg long long roads to keep ect
How small is this world we live in. The people that bought your old van live in the next street from us. I drove past and saw it and turned around to check it out. Sure enough it had the yellow jerry cans on the back and the steel plates on the front where you have the crack fixed in the A frame. How's that for weird?
Hey Ericheoman, Yes I agree but apparently I say it incorrectly. I am very self conscious about my speech after having speech therapy as a child. I am also dyslexic. Just trying my best but I’ll try not to annoy you in the future with my flaws.
The Dawson highway is the WORST. Need an off road caravan to travel it even though it’s bitumen. Our washing machine rattled itself to death travelling back along that highway.
i remember coming across this in the 1990's when i had a coach and i did 27000klms around eastern australia with a performing group from over seas the RACQ asked people to name the worst roads in queensland and i said after all i had done queensland was the best roads i had traveled in all western dirt roads in the 4 states i traveled in two and a 1/2 months on the road
Worse "highway" road ever travelled hauling a caravan was the Leichardt hwy Goondiwindi to Miles in Queensland. 2023. Travel too fast you can become airborne, road full of flood bumps.
I did this trip end of April 2024. The main road west once out of Miles is in a bad condition. I blew up my Redarc and lithium battery on this trip the roads are so bad. It cost me another flight to Australia at NZ1200 plus AUD4200 to replace the Redarc system. It was only 7 years and 50,000km old. Think twice around taking this road at the moment until the Qld govt do some maintenance.
East Coast, bunny hopping roads everywhere, too busy spending on white elephants, to have a politics name on! Juice needs a 12v electric rug, or throw under Doona for the night. Good episode as usual
We have Federal and State Roads, our major infrastructure of dams, hospitals, roads, has been ignored for decades by both, we were once known as the Commonwealth Government for the people, by the people. From 1973 they unlawfully changed all tittles eventuating in The Australian Government in 1986, without a referendum. They sold us all out years ago, privatised our water, power poles, and electricity that belonged to us, we now pay their shareholders for what was once all Ours.. all governments are as corrupt as each other, they work for Corporations today, take a salary from the tax payer and have no allegiance to Australians whatsoever.. their is no upper house in the QLD government, so theirs no accountability for their dreadful legislation..Carnarvon gorge looks beautiful..
@CaravanAdventureAus too true. I think WA has the best roads for vanning or motorhomes. Hope your new digs keep you travelling in style and comfort for a few good years to come. See you on the road one day! Best wishes from Saunders Beach QLD.
I went on the Bennett Hway. It was a shocker.

Thanks for sharing that story about your dad. 😊
A slab hut is named from the slabs of timbers that make up the walls
Thanks mate for letting us know 👍🏽

That slab hut was the original home on a property owned by relatives of mine.
Thanks mate!
The worst roads we encountered on our trips to visit friends in Mt. Isa & family in Darwin was definitely the highway west of Longreach.
I'm from Tasmania, there is many, not so good roads, in Tassie. I have driven up and down on the Jacobs Ladder, which is driving up to the snow ski resort on Ben Lomond, Ben Lomond is a mountain in Northern Tasmania.

Oh wow that doesn’t sound like fun 😱
Another destination for the bucket list, thanks for all the great info you give us. You will need to get cracking on a diesel heater Bryce. 😅
Thanks for watching!
Yes heater is ordered 👍🏽😃

Castlereagh Hwy NSW between Walgettand Gilgandra. Makes the Bruce seem like a bowling green.
Oh wow really 😱
The road from Camooweal to the Three Ways today. Talk about duck and weave
Marlborough Sarina RD CQ would have to be up there with the rough ones..! Nice Vid.! 👌🏻🍻
Oh yeah 😱 just super bumpy ?
Slab huts are named because they are made of slabs of wood.go the network
We had a Ute heading toward us on that road that became fully airborne, all 4 wheels off the road.
Thanks Guys , enjoyed the video ! Looks like a place to visit. Keep ‘em coming ! 👍👍🍻🍻
Cheers Mark! Thanks for watching mate 👍🍻
we were told a piece of Madagascar broke off 3oothosand years ago and hit Western Australia reliable info
Okay very interesting 👍🏽😃
You will have to go back there and do the walk right up to the end of the gorge some beautiful scenery up there
Yes that’s for next time 🥰👍🏽
Love the videos guys, keep up the posts! Newell highway.... Absolutely abysmal of a highway. One night, there would have been around 9 cars pulled over changing tyres from a monster pot hole. That road is horrid.
Great video guys, we have a rear door model of the same van.
Worst road by far we have travelled was the Surat Development Road
👍🏽😃
Oh really! Don’t think we’ve done that road
Great episode we loved it there. Those walks were beautiful ❤
Thanks for watching! Some awesome walks 👍
The 3 of you look right at home in yr new van😊 are you feeling settled? Look forward to a tour x❤
Yes feeling settled for sure now 🥰
The Carnarvon Gorge is a beautiful spot and a must see for anyone travelling in the area. Give yourself about 3 or 4 days but not in the wet season.
The Barkly highway is right up there. Glad we weren’t towing a van at the time
Oh really 😞😱 so many bad roads

Victoria Highway between timber creek & Kununurra. Think it may be a reason I went into early labour 😂🤔
Oh wow! 😳😳
Millmerran to Toowoomba (Gore Highway), for a highway it’s an absolute nightmare!! 😳😳
Oh really! 🥵 so many bad roads hey
Mid western hwy between hay and Forbes went on every dirt road I could just to avoid the hwy absolutely shocking 😂
We have heard bad things about that stretch of road!
Good idea sticking to the dirt! 👍
Great vid guys loved it 👍🏻 👏 😊

slab hut is made of slabs of wood either split or rough sawn.
Hey thanks for letting us know 👍🏽👍🏽
That bit of the Warrego Hwy out of Dalby is pretty bad with all the "Whoops" but the worst We've found is North of Clermont.
Wow there was some beautiful spots in this video , can’t wait for more next Sunday , stay safe guys ❤
South road for sure
Bumpy always road works
Agreed!
Nice Caravan 💪👍🤙

The Leichardt highway heading North from Goondawindi, I think thr track into Notch Point was better.
Yes so bumpy 😱😱
Bruce is a goat track for most parts, a British friend explained it simple , aus is so much bigger less peeps taxes are high…. Eg long long roads to keep ect

Hey Ericheoman,
Yes I agree but apparently I say it incorrectly.
I am very self conscious about my speech after having speech therapy as a child. I am also dyslexic. Just trying my best but I’ll try not to annoy you in the future with my flaws.
Road ( if you can call it that ) from goondiwindi to mooni then to dalby what a disdrace
Not good I assume haha
We are heading to canarvon gorge in a few weeks 9n the way up through qld. Where were you filling up the water before heading in to sandstone park?
Try the Moonie Hwy, see if you get sea sick
I could imagine that one wouldn't be too well looked after 😳
Another great episode, thanks. How does the dog camera work when you are off grid?
Hey! We use internet from Starlink
Great work guys… Castlereigh Hwy to Lighting Ridge is rough as guts!
Where’d you advertise your van ?? I’m selling mine 😉
The worst road we went on in QLD was from Lowood to Gatton it ran through the hills and it was narrow windy and very rough
Lovely 🥵🥵
Nah there is a lot worse than that!
Great Vid... One Day......

Great video guys. Where is your favourite gravel pit? (As per the last few words in this video)
Thanks for watching mate!
There's one between exmouth and Tom price that we stayed at about 4 years ago that comes to mind as one of the best!
The Dawson highway is the WORST. Need an off road caravan to travel it even though it’s bitumen. Our washing machine rattled itself to death travelling back along that highway.
Really!! 😱 that’s crazy!
Thanks for watching

Doesn't sound fun at all 😳
Easy South rd Adelaide South Australia, you guys know it quite well?
Hahaha true!
great to see you settling into your new home. How do locate the gravel sites on the side of the road
Thanks so much!
Mostly find them on wiki camps but sometimes we look on google maps and you can see them on there
Great video guys. Can u plz tell me what dog camera you have and are you happy with it? TIA
Hey its a eufy indoor camera from bunnings
Worse "highway" road ever travelled hauling a caravan was the Leichardt hwy Goondiwindi to Miles in Queensland. 2023.
Travel too fast you can become airborne, road full of flood bumps.

@@NielsSorensen-sh8tm unfortunately we couldn’t make it to every walk/attraction. That’s for next time 👍🏽😃

Sunny Coast to Rocky. Probs the worst.
Beef road has to be up there with the worst (Fitzroy development road)
We'll make sure to avoid that one then 😂
😀😀😀
🥰 hope you are well x
@@CaravanAdventureAus Thanks guys! Im doing okay... leaving my current location soon , so have been busy organising 💖 XO
No Water Filters ?? 'Thirsty Nomad' are great.
We've just installed a water filter now in the van 👍 will be in a video in a few weeks time 👍
What is the camera you guys are using to monitor Juice when he stays in the van?
Hey it is a Eufy camera 👍🏽
Princess hwy between SA border and Heywood
😱 oh really! Don’t think we have done that one before
the worst road in QLD is the Golden mile it joins Dysart to the Beef road
Oh really 😳
Worst road we’ve been on is easily Charters Towers to Clermont.
What dog camera do you guys use?
Hi Guys, can you tell me what site you sold your old van on? Thanks
Hey just Facebook marketplace 👍🏽
The Bruce Highway is the worst. Absolutely shocking from Gympie North.
Never understood how that highway can be so bad 👎
@@CaravanAdventureAus by far the best roads i've been on are in the NT. Also the 60-80km/h roadwork zones 😍
Bylong valley way is bad at the best of times. Definitely the worst i have been on
It looks like a winding road too 😳
East Coast, bunny hopping roads everywhere, too busy spending on white elephants, to have a politics name on!
Juice needs a 12v electric rug, or throw under Doona for the night.
Good episode as usual
Yes 12V rug would be amazing!
What do you do with your fur baby when you go into national parks?
Hey! We leave him in the caravan or with a dog sitter 👍🏽
The amount of rain probably has something to do with the roads in recent years
Why wouldnt you have had a diesel heater installed when ordered it😏😩🥊
Why would you pay someone else to do it haha
Also we didn’t order the caravan it was already built when we bought it.
Thanks for watching!
@@CaravanAdventureAus well you better get hubby active and install one because it isnt getting any warmer at the moment👍😏
Never towed on anything as bad as the Bruce in all laps of Aus.
100% agreed

Fitzroy development road is horrible also from Cracow to bilo
the worst roads i have driven were in Wales UK
That is surprising! But good to know we don't have the worst roads in the world 😂
Bruce Highway, Townsville to Rocky. Bloody terrible.
Such a main highway and such a rubbish road 😑
@CaravanAdventureAus too true. I think WA has the best roads for vanning or motorhomes. Hope your new digs keep you travelling in style and comfort for a few good years to come. See you on the road one day! Best wishes from Saunders Beach QLD.
warrego highway an leichhardt highway
😳 oh really!
@@CaravanAdventureAus yep there rough there got really bad potholes in them
I think Taree roads are the worst in Australia.
The roads are disgusting everywhere in Australia. You have to question what they do with our extremely high taxes in this country.
Yep we think the same
One of the worst roads is between charters towers and Clermont Qld
Oh really! 😱 we’ve never been on that one
