  • In this video, Daiwa Steez AIR, Hobie-Wan Kenobi talks about the Daiwa Steez AIR TW and goes over some interesting factors he uses to decide of BFS gear. There will also be a brief comparasion between the Daiwa Steez AIR and the Daiwa Steez CT with Roro BFS spool.
    Hobie-Wan Kenobi will be testing the Steez AIR to see if it will be his new Stream BFS Reel (current reel is the SS AIR).
    With a 28mm spool, 9.1 gear ratio, TWS (T-Wing System) and other features, the Daiwa Steez AIR should be a top contender for the Ultimate Bait Finesse Reel. Will it be able to edge out the Aldebaran BFS with Avail spool? Or the Steez CT with Roro BFS spool??? There will stiff competition.

    Looking forward to the comparison videos. BTW I met tge guys at the Tackle Trap, a really great bunch of guys. They had some killer deals at the 50th Bassmaster Classic too... A buddy of mine picked up a few Daiwa's.

    awesome review! now that you used both reels for reasonable amount of time, which one would you get now if you have to choose one?

    • @HobieWanKenobi

      Depends on what lures you are casting. The CT is more versatile. I would go with the new Alphas AIR TW instead of the Steez AIR if casting light lures.

    What do you think about the daiwa steez air vs the Gekkabijin reel which reel is the best

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steez AIR TW is overpriced. Gekkabijin would be my choice for sure. Steez AIR I used was kinda Geary feeling. Gekkabijin AIR TW felt better to me.

    Just a pixy with a RORO, AMO or Ray's Studio spool is more than fine, and doesn't break the bank.

      That is true. The AliExpress BFS spools are pretty good. The Steez AIR is a top tier reel and is for enthusiast for sure. The Steez wont casts 3 or 4 times better than an AliExpress spool.

    Thoughts on this versus the alphas ct sv?

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't used the Alphas CT. Compared to the Steez CT, I would say its on the same tier. The line capacity and uses are different. The CT would be more versatile. That Roro spool is really nice.

      If you aren't going to regularly use lures less than 1/8oz total weight, I wouldn't get the Steez AIR. There are many options out there that will cast 1/8oz just as good. Do you have any BFS reels?

    there is already a ktf kahen spool for thr steez air

      Yup. Its 5.3gr and comes in thr typical KTF colors. Kinda odd how KTF made the stock spool for the Steez AIR.

      performances for ultra light baits are better with steez air tw than steez ct ktf, there is some video on the net. Spool weight of ct ktf is 6g and steez air 6,6g. I don't think i will give 200$ for maybe one feet more...

      What about the 19 daiwa steezs ct sv tw 700 xh over the 17 daiwa steezs sv tw 1012 SV-SH if you use a KTF spool or a Roro spool on any of these reels to make it a bfs reel I going to get the aldebaran bfs reel I just want to buy or build a daiwa bfs reel if you know what I mean plus what is the ct on these reels mean is better than the sv tw reel or just buy the steezs air for the bfs iam confuse about these reels

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@raymondjohnson6496 The CT with Roro will have lighter casting potential and be a little fast spool because it will be lighter but, not a huge difference with the 1012 with Roro. Honestly, whatever reel you would use side by side with the "Steez BFS reel", I would do.
