    Own the 3k certate, 2.5k exist, 3.5k saltiga bay jig, (2) 3k ballistics, and 2.5k procyon.Sold all my shimanos and don’t regret it one bit. Daiwa makes the best reels for saltwater and freshwater applications hands down for durability, longevity, and toughness. Not to mention the LT reels being light as a feather and the smoothness is none other.

    • @dinkobilic9078
      @dinkobilic9078 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      how do you compare certate (lt I hope) vs exist?

    • @ialexmani
      @ialexmani 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@dinkobilic9078 the certate and exist has pretty much identical smoothness, but weight wise the exist is lighter(yes certate lt and exist lt). I got both my reels about the same time and use it both inshore and freshwater applications. Both handle bigger inshore fish very nicely (tautog, stripers, redfish, sheepshead, black drum, flounder, etc). But i have notice the certate lost some of it’s smoothness not much but compared to the exist, it’s still smooth as the day i got it. Also what i’ve liked about the exist is that the common daiwa problem with line overlay w/o shimming does not exist on the Exist(hah). I have owned the Stella FJ and imo i thought it felt like a stradic to me. Exist blows the Stella out of water in terms of smoothness, longevity w/o service, element toughness, and drag control. If you don’t want to spend the money on an Exist(understandable) then at least try the certate. Daiwa has definitely put their money where their mouth is.

    These high end diawas and shimanos are out of this world powerful. My bought me a diawa saltiga 4000 instead of a wedding ring ( she knows me). Last week we went out on a fishing trip on the space coast, the captain was running all spinfishers a good reel for sure, but heavy. After fighting big Jack's and sharks on both the smoothness and power from the saltiga is unreal. I could gain line so easily on 4-5 foot sharks on a rod and reel that is light enough to cast bass lures all day. I believe the fishing industry has some of the best engineers in the world.

      @mitch garcia I use it on a st croix 7 foot 6 inch 3 piece travel rod. It's a tide master series which I don't think they make anymore. The rod says 3/4 - 1-1/2 once it casts great and can easily do 2 once and even some pretty light lures as well.

    The bigger/stronger/forged/unobtanium gear has no bearing on torque. I don't know why people say this as it is just wrong. Just as a thicker gear does not make more torque. Torque is related to the gear RATIO. A higher speed reel = less torque, lower speed = more torque, same as a bicycle. A bigger / thicker gear may be physically stronger though. They are a great reel imho.

    • @searex2268
      @searex2268 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@muskyvictim no, Compact sizes are designed for reeling in small fish with ease, n light weight, they already engineered the gear size match with the drag capacity, you can't overload it, but bigger gear will give u slightly better torque ( mean you can use less force to reel in the same force of the fish pulling vs the smaller gear) n bigger gear mean heavier, because the bigger gear higher torque, therefore it's less stress on the gear vs the smaller diameter, that's is why in the long run , the bigger gear will last longer. Meanwhile smaller gear may bent or loosely connect to the oscillation gear. It won't fail but rather take long period of time to stress out
