Love the build up to Gaur Plain. You come out of the shelter of colony 9 and through Tephra Cave and then see the mechonis looming in the distance and the rest of the bionis towering over you, then you walk in silence from the kneecap through a narrow pass and then this hits you as you see how big and open and spectacular Gaur Plain is. An amazing moment.
Imo it should have turned to day right after getting out of Tephra Cave and throughout the buildup to the cutscene, because the day music goes so wonderfully with the cutscenes. Yes this would be a very small, almost meaningless change, but it’s hard to find a meaningful change in a game like this

Exploring this area on the day the game came out, after everything that happens in colony 9 just felt so surreal. Sharla: Healer, traits- Heals the party, cures the party of debuffs, has a gun. Playtime >2% What’s that 2%? When I had to fight a [REDACTED] in the [redacted] because I was doing an all girls bit and had to take control of the healing.
Me with a 75% melia playtime, cause holy fuck, optimized melia damage is a hard drug. Who needs heals when melia melts everything she comes in contact with. Also all girls party is surprisingly viable. Fiora is busted as shit, and can take some aggro, Melia kills every single thing in existance, and Sharla exists for moral support and to ship Melia and shulk.
For the next Smash Bros. game, they should replace all the Xenoblade 1 songs with their Definitive Edition arrangements, and also play the full four minutes of Gaur Plain instead of prematurely looping it after only two minutes
Yes please. They also did that looping thing to id purpose from fire emblem... I kinda get it, they're both relatively calm songs that go on for a while (aka not that fitting of a fight), but still, they're good so keep all of it
Having the music turn off on the walk up to the area just gets you so pumped for what's next, and then it's this massive, grand field with kickass music. This is where the journey begins, and you will know it.

Between this soundtrack, Final Fantasy XV, and the original non=Disney songs from Kingdom Hearts, I think I consider Yoko Shimomura just as amazing as even Nobuo Uematsu. It's just a different kind of awesome
I prefer the original to this remaster but that's just my take. Explanation: if you listen to both, you find that the bass is more prominent and punchier in the old one which I personally like better. This is still a great track remastered but it more heavily features the main violin and pushes the bass further back

I completely agree, I've always found it overrated. But whenever I say that people get mad haha. I think its good but most every other major area theme in all 3 xenoblade games are better in my opinion

He’s easier to stay clear of in Definitive since you can see him from way farther away. In the original he wouldn’t load until you were quite close.
