    thanks for the vid....I experienced that "severe bind-up from 2 - 3" you mentioned at 14:03 and I had a check ball in a totally wrong place. That bind up is no joke. Goes from 3rd gear to 1st hard and fast.

    Great series Gary! Using this to rebuild my own 62te..I had the issue where reverse went out and the top ring of the low clutch was all broken off. The bearing and the selective spacer were all welded together to the ring gear inside the planet beneath it. Any idea what would cause that and also, trying to find the kind of gasket maker you use on all the pans. All I can find are red..mind telling me what it is you use? Thanks sir and keep up the great videos!

    I can't get the differential cover off. Matter of fact there's a hairline crack in the cover from me beating on it. Any suggestions? Is it possible to rebuild the rest of the transmission without removing the diff?

    I have intermittent shudder in my T&C, like a stick shift that is in too far a gear; does that seem like a TCC solenoid problem? Because the transmission is strong and the torque converter doesn't feel like it's slipping...

    I have 2013 town and country with P0740 and no lockup. I checked tcc solenoid pin 3 and 10 at solenoid pack with oscilloscope and pcm is commanding lockup appropriately in 4 5 and 6th gear. I also probed the tcc solenoid with 12 volts and it clicks. Am I missing something in diagnosis like clogged valves or passages? Van drives fine otherwise. I have no history on van with 150000 miles. I didn’t change the fluid or filter yet cause I think maybe I need to take the transmission out anyway for a torque converter. Likely original.
    Should I just replace the torque converter for suspected worn lock up clutch or Do you think i need full rebuild?

    • @GaryFerraro
      @GaryFerraro  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, 740 could be a number of things, i do see these converters go bad a lot, Not sure if a shop would just be willing to do that, if you do just swap out converter, drop the pan also and install new OE filter. what a 740 code means is the converter will no longer fully lock up, will still be commanded but will slip causing the 740 code

    Good evening, I saw your video on automatic transmission Ford C6 . I wanted to ask you for help with this automatic transmission . I myself am from Russia and there are no good mechanics for such cars , my car is a Ford trandaberd 1973g 7.5 l and the problem is that the car does not go to the cold in the d mode , in the R mode it goes . warm up for 40 minutes and everything starts to go . I can't figure out what the reason is.? I apologize for my English , I would be happy for your answer.

      @@kolchak999 Ok, your problem is the Forward clutch seals are probably hard as a rock. The trans fluid has to warm up to soften the seals to apply the clutch. Only fix is to pull the trans and change out the forward clutch seals, maybe a good idea to do all the seals beacuse they probably are getting brittle to.
