    Points to take away:
    1. Do not say anything online that you would not dare to say in person.
    2. Online never forgets. Once a post is made, it can’t be taken back.
    3. Know your boundaries and let others know too. Do not share personal information you are not comfortable sharing.
    4. Do not tag someone else without their permission.
    5. Do not discolse location/ personal information in real time.
    6. Give credit where it is due. Do not use pictures without permission from the creator.
    7. Use good spelling and grammar.
    8. Accept or follow only when you want to do so.
    9. Ask for permission before sending voice notes.

Refraining from posting in real time is very important additionally because often people will livestream tragic events; car crashes, deaths, natural disasters, etc… and it is becoming increasingly common that loved ones find out devastating information via Facebook or TikTok before law enforcement can complete their notification of the family.

Comments, whether in person or on social media should follow 3 rules:
    1. Is it truthful?
    2. Is it necessary?
    3. Is it kind?

A good combination of 'online never forgets' and 'do not say rude things online' is remembering that *you* may not see the comment, but maybe friends or family may see it and feel upset. If I write a negative comment about your appearance and my friend has the same feature, they might feel sad, hurt or confused.
In addition to losing jobs and alienating friends, some people are being sued by writing negative comments about others online.

I politely disagree, I thinks older generations need to grow out of the idea that behaviorisms online needs to be contiguous with behaviorisms in person. Online has some customs that make it a great space that are entirely unique. Things like leet speak, debate bros, meta-ironic and deep-fried memes, cyber religion, better ways to pair program or game, accelerationism in subcultures, the wayback machine, hiding code inside of other pieces of code, friend groups above the number 148, etc. The phrases "the industrial revolution" "the information revolution" and "the digital revolution" quite literally mean we are becoming different *Beings (think of Heidegger's Dasein) over time. A lot of philosophers note that it took us thousands of years to adapt to the agricultural revolution, which allowed for new things like societies instead of tribes with new social roles. In fact i would say that so far our societies have done a terrible job adapting now that there are cops and metal detectors in our schools(in America), online jokes and ideas are swaying our real world elections, and billionaires are ruining stock of companies for their online bs. If anything I wish there was a complete disentanglement between the online and in person spaces. But I am aware that because we have become different beings that's not possible. I feel like we need some sort of social customs that are moral and not professional that we can engrain in our society that help us quickly identify when a situation online will lead to a problem in person so that we can live more peacefully. From a professionalism standpoint I kind of understand what is being said in this video. But I still feel like in professional spaces, at least in America, we need to have some sense of moral etiquette that allows for an amount of disengagement surrounding online engagement and not really something that just seems optically professional. But It was still a great video!❤
